Build a Base RNG Best Weapons (August 2026) — What Actually Wins Waves

Updated August 26, 2026 — the wiki rewrote its Weapons page on August 21, so we re-read every stat. Four objects changed numbers, two new ones appeared, and the game swapped to a Hero update today.

The best object in Build a Base RNG usually isn't the rarest one. A Galaxy mutation multiplies health 7x and damage about 6.9x, so a Galaxy roll on a common cannon beats a plain rare one outright. Several published stats moved on August 21, so every number below was re-read on August 26, 2026.

Mutations Beat Rarity

This is the one properly documented number in the game, and the reason a list built on rarity alone misleads. The wiki's Mutations page gives flat multipliers and states they are the same for all blocks and weapons, counting two mutations with Normal as the baseline.

Run the arithmetic and the ranking falls out. Basic Cannon is 1 in 30 at 200 DPS; Axe Spinner 1 in 200 at 225 DPS. A Galaxy Basic Cannon lands near 1,380 DPS, beating a plain Axe Spinner six times over from an object seven times commoner. Skipping a mutation to chase rarity is this game's most expensive mistake.

Mutations aren't rolled blind — the wiki says you buy them from the Skills menu as you upgrade luck, which is what the two priciest passes sell. We pulled the Roblox game-passes API on August 26, 2026: Galaxy Hunter 640 Robux and Shiny Hunter 330, both created July 7, 2026 fourteen seconds apart, so the pair shipped together with Galaxy at nearly double.

All 17 Objects, Ranked

The wiki's Weapons page carries 17 entries, eleven with real stat lines and six on a copied placeholder. The August 21 rewrite added Range and Size to every card — data nobody had a week ago. Read from source on August 26, 2026.

*Placeholder rows. All six starred objects print 375 HP and 38 DPS — Wooden Mortar's line, beside Wooden Mortar's thumbnail — so we dash them instead. Any site quoting 38 DPS for a 1-in-2.6-million Robust Tesla copied a template nobody filled in. Their Range and Size do differ card to card, which is what tells you those were entered by hand and the damage was not.

Four figures changed this week. Basic Cannon 413/150 to 550/200; Stone Spear Barrel 600/50 to 800/160; Catapult 525/45 to 700/60; Stone Mortar 525/107 to 700/143. Any tier list still quoting the old figures has not been touched since August 21.

Basic Cannon remains the standout: at 1 in 30 it is the cheapest object with genuinely high damage, and only Axe Spinner, seven times rarer, beats it — by 25 DPS. Rusty Spear Barrel is new to this page and holds the highest published health at 1,500. It occupies the slot where the wiki listed Stone Mortar twice, a duplicate we flagged on August 19 and the rewrite fixed by renaming — but it still shares the 1 in 214 figure and thumbnail with Stone Mortar, so treat those odds as the less certain.

The Punk Ice Cannon Problem

The rewrite added an object whose numbers do not belong to the same scale as anything else: Punk Ice Cannon, 20,000 HP and 18,100 DPS. The next-highest published damage figure is Axe Spinner's 225 — a factor of roughly eighty.

We report it because the source says it, but we are not crowning it. Its odds are not published, so nobody has documented how you obtain one, and the gap is so far out of band that it is likely a reading at a high Index upgrade level. If a tier list calls it farmable, ask for the odds.

The Hero Update

Build a Base RNG replaced its Roblox store description on August 26, 2026, leading with a system this page did not previously cover. Verbatim from the live description, read at 20:10 UTC: "HERO DEFENDERS! Unlock the hero shop. place your hero statue and upgrade its skilltree!"

That is a second defence layer that is not rolled. Where every object above arrives through RNG, a hero statue is bought from a hero shop and improved through a skill tree — progression you plan rather than gamble for. The spend currency is Hero Coins, confirmed by two independent outlets on August 23 and 24, 2026. Nobody has published how an upgraded hero compares to a Galaxy-mutated cannon, and the wiki has no Heroes page. Until those numbers exist, keep mutating cannons.

The developer has also scheduled a Roblox event titled "AA + UPDATE" for August 29, 2026 at 17:00 UTC, which will likely move these tables again. Any launch codes will land on our Build a Base RNG codes page.

Where Data Runs Out

There is still no named rarity ladder. The wiki encodes rarity as twelve distinct hex colours across its 17 entries and names not one: we parsed the raw source on August 26, 2026 and a search for every common tier word returns zero matches. So when a site sells you an "S tier" holding "Glorious" or "Atomic" rarities, those names were invented. The source base is small but growing — six pages and nine content images, up from eight on August 19 — and footage still shows objects the wiki has never listed, including Firework Mortar, Hyper Turret, Neon Spikes and the Metal, Gold and Space block tiers.

Correcting ourselves: on August 19 we described "two different Laser Cannons". Wrong — there is one Laser Cannon and one Admin Laser Cannon, distinct objects with different ranges. The Admin Laser Cannon, which we said had no stat row, has one now.

Getting Better Rolls

Mutations unlock through luck upgrades, so luck is the real progression axis. Three free moves stack: join the Slungpy Games group for 2x luck (the verified creator, group ID 33723433); push the skill tree's Luck branch (Luck I, Mega Luck, Ultra Luck, plus Clover Chance and Friends Luck); and fill out the Index, whose completion grants a Luck Multiplier and whose per-object upgrade levels move your real DPS. We are not quoting coin prices — the figures circulating online are uncorroborated.

Know what is actually sold. On August 26, 2026 the universe held six purchasable passes: VIP and Fast Rolls at 199 Robux, Shiny Hunter 330, 2x Boss Drops 480, Galaxy Hunter 640, Extra Roll 699. A seventh VIP is off. There is no "2x Luck" pass and no "Revive" pass, despite guide sites describing both. Our Robux guide covers funding.

Placement and Footprint

There is a hard cap on placements — the Place More skill raises your limit from 40 to 70 to 145 slots — and you cannot build mid-wave. That makes the new Size field matter as much as damage. Catapult and Punk Ice Cannon are 2x2x2, the two Teslas 1x1x2, the two Laser Cannons 2x1x1, everything else a single cube. A Catapult's 60 DPS at eight times the footprint of a 200 DPS Basic Cannon is no trade at all. Judge objects on damage per slot.

Range separates the back line. Admin Laser Cannon reaches 28, Catapult 25, Stone Mortar 22.5, against a common band of 20 and Wooden Tesla's short 16. Put long-range objects at the back, cannons at the front. Bosses arrive at waves 20, 40, 60, 80, 100 and 130.

The Blocks page added two real mechanics on August 22. The Admin Block auto-scales to 5% more health than your best block and drops only during admin events, as does the Admin Laser Cannon. The Evil Block "allows turrets to shoot through it, like spikes" — independently corroborating the shoot-through behaviour players report for Neon Spikes, previously a single-creator claim here.
