Drag Drive Simulator (DDS, also branded "RDID Revamp") is a vehicle-sim and roleplay game by ADV Gamers Team, live on Roblox since January 15, 2025. It has pulled 440.7 million visits, 2.56 million favourites, and around 28,124 players online as of July 19, 2026 — a genuine top-tier vehicle sim. DDS uses a proper manual gearbox, which is why so many new players lose races before they leave the line. Learn these keybinds first — they are the whole reason this game has a skill gap:

• W / A / S / D — accelerate, steer left, brake/reverse, steer right.
• E — shift up one gear. Q — shift down one gear.
• E + P together — jump straight to top gear. Q + P together — drop straight to neutral.
• M — toggle manual-clutch mode (the setup serious drag racers use).
• Shift — handbrake. V — first-person view.

Two recovery buttons save a lot of frustration: if your vehicle gets stuck, press the on-screen exit/respawn icon to reset it, and if your rider falls off a motorcycle, tap the Jump button to get back on. On mobile and controller the same actions appear as on-screen buttons and mapped pad inputs, so the shift-up / shift-down / clutch flow is identical — only the input method changes.

Nail the Launch Off the Green Light

The launch decides most DDS races — the community rule of thumb is that a clean start is worth roughly 80% of the win, and a well-launched cheap bike will beat a badly launched expensive car every time. Here is the sequence:

1. Before the lights, press M to switch into manual-clutch mode so you control power delivery off the line.
2. Hold the throttle at launch-control RPM — roughly 6,000–8,000 RPM depending on the vehicle. Do not sit on the redline; too much RPM just spins the tyres.
3. Release the clutch the instant the green light appears. Timing this to the exact light, not a beat early or late, is the whole skill.
4. If the tyres break loose and spin, feather the throttle — ease off slightly, then feed it back in — to regain traction instead of sitting still.
5. Shift up through the gears with E just before the limiter, keeping the engine in its power band all the way to the line.

Practise this in free roam or Time Trial before you queue a Tournament, because reaction timing to the light takes repetition to lock in. Once your launches are consistent, the same bike will suddenly start winning races it used to lose.

Pick Your First Vehicle

The most common beginner mistake is buying the biggest car you can afford on day one. In DDS a fully tuned mid-tier build beats a stock high-tier vehicle, so where you spend matters more than how much you spend.

1. Do not buy the first vehicle at spawn. The starter dealership is convenient, not optimal — drive to a couple of other dealerships and compare the inventory before you commit your RP.
2. Start on a motorcycle. Bikes are cheaper than cars, lighter, and far more sensitive to gear-ratio tuning, so a tuned bike punches well above its price in straight-line races.
3. Keep RP in reserve for tuning and part upgrades. A cheaper vehicle you can fully tune will outrun an expensive one you bought stock.

Tune Your Gear Ratios

Tuning is the single biggest performance lever in DDS. Two players in the same vehicle can post very different times purely on their gear setup. The core trade-off is simple:

• Shorter gear ratios = faster acceleration, but a lower top speed in that gear.
• Longer gear ratios = slower off the line, but a higher top speed in that gear.

Build a gear ladder: aggressive, shorter ratios in the lower gears for a hard launch, then progressively longer ratios up top so you hit peak speed right as you cross the finish line. If you max out speed with the line still far ahead, your top gear is too short; if you are still pulling hard at the line, you can go longer still. Test every change on a straight road in free roam before racing.

Upgrade order matters too. Dumping all your RP into raw horsepower while ignoring traction leaves you spinning the tyres off the line while tuned builds pull away — balance power with the parts that put it down. The dedicated DDS hub tracks how the tuning menu changes with each update.

Earn RP Fast — Races & Jobs

RP (Racing Points) is the game's only currency — you spend it on vehicles, parts and cosmetics. There is no way to earn Robux inside DDS; the economy runs entirely on RP. Here is where it comes from, fastest first:

• Tournament Drag Race — the winner takes the lion's share of the RP pool. Highest payout per race once your launch and tune are dialled in.
• Public / Time Trial races at Sentul Circuit — interact with the blue Sentul Circuit zone to enter. Time Trial pays RP based on the distance you cover per second, and races last under 15 seconds, so the turnaround is fast and consistent.
• Jobs around town — take the Courier role (RP per package delivered), the Office Worker desk (solve math problems for RP), a Police patrol, or the Barista job at the Coffee Shop. None are the fastest, but they pay steadily while you learn the map.

If you are grinding toward a specific vehicle, the loop is: farm quick Time Trials and jobs early for a starter bike, tune it, then move to Tournaments once your launches are clean — that is where the real RP is.
