The current update is the New Town Update, released August 2, 2026 — the first slice of Gakuran's town expansion, following v7.500 (July 27) and the Kure-style v7.400 patch (July 11). It opens up a new explorable town section of the map, and the developers have said the town will roll out in multiple segments so they can keep adding streets, buildings, styles, and movement options over time.
The headline addition is Ali, a new Muhammad-Ali-inspired boxing fighting style: it throws very fast M1 punches, and its M2 spawns afterimages of your character while you move to make your positioning hard to read (chaining M2 adds extra afterimage actions for unpredictable PvP). Alongside it, the Hakari style was reworked with a Black-Flash-style visual on consecutive hits and a powerful special crit that is its main edge over Ali. The patch also added 48 new accessories, 4 new uniforms and 8 new faces, 15 new songs, fresh emotes, and — finally — proper jumping. What's next for Gakuran?
As of August 7, 2026, the developers have not announced a dated numbered follow-up. The confirmed roadmap evidence comes from the New Town Update announcement itself (August 2, 2026): the town is being released in segments, with more content — additional fighting styles and new mobility methods — explicitly planned for later segments. Sneak peeks for each drop are teased in the game's official Discord (linked from the Roblox experience page) rather than on a fixed calendar, so treat any leaked feature you see before it ships as unconfirmed.
