The current patch is Update 87, "RONIN IS BACK": the Ultra-rarity Spiker Ronin returned Saturday, September 12, 2026 with a rework, two buffs and three codes. Roster context: our Volleyball Legends hub.
Current update: Update 87, Ronin returns (September 12, 2026)
Roblox's virtual-events feed carries the developers' own event, "RONIN IS BACK", subtitled "And a COMPLETE REWORK!", opened 15:30 UTC on September 12, 2026. Their words: "Ronin gets a new cool rework / Loads of QoL … Is Ronin too OP?"
The number comes from the Fandom Codes page, stamped "87 | September 2026" at 15:32 UTC, two minutes later; Try Hard Guides and Roonby both dated their coverage September 12.
Ronin isn't new. It's a returning limited style, first released February 21, 2026 in Update 58, original window closing March 7. The wiki ends this first return September 26, 2026 — a 14-day run. Posted banner rates are 0.005% from a Style Spin and 0.25% from a Lucky Style Spin, but luck modifiers apply, so your effective rate differs. No "1 in X" figure or Robux price is published.

What the rework changes for players
Two balance changes carry the September 12, 2026 date, both buffs. Charged Spike's charge speed is gradually reduced by filling the Blade Meter through defending — you bank charge by playing defence, not by holding spike airborne. One player reports blocking feeds the meter too.
The bigger one: Mastery 3 now grants the Sheath Ability. Sheathe the Charged Spike at a full Blade Meter, store the charge, release it instantly instead of telegraphing the wind-up.
The rest of the ladder is unchanged: M1 raises serve, M2 adds 5% speed, M4 charges 10% faster, M5 stuns on the sweet spot. Placement: our best styles guide and tier list.
The dev note also advertises "Loads of QoL". Nobody has itemised it, and the wiki's Updates page has sat on Update 80 since July 30, 2026.

Reaction on the two biggest Update 87 videos skews positive, September 13, 2026. Under ItsCat's video, @Gr4ndTheNoob (20 likes): "Ronin is finally good now, even without masteries.. I can feel the tears on my cheeks". @AhazlYT (12 likes): "as a ronin main, this had me jumping up and down in joy".
Not unanimous. Under Krazy's breakdown, @GoldGal64 (6 likes): "From my main's standpoint, it felt slightly underwhelming. Being able to save charge & unleash it instantly is truly a good feature, but it replaces the practicability of the style." @brednil flagged a regression: "ronin desync insta spike bug is now BACK and a FEATURE". The devs haven't replied.

Its contents are unannounced.
