The current Adopt Me! patch is "Tux & Shepherd on the Stray Case", live Friday, August 14, 2026 at 15:05 UTC from Uplift Games: two Ultra-Rare pets, a 75-Buck repeatable quest, four spy accessories and five fixes. No code. More on the hub.

What's new in the Stray Case update

Three sources agree: Uplift Games' Roblox event "ADOPT ME NEW UPDATE!" opens 2026-08-14T15:05:52 UTC, the official notes are stamped "Fri, Aug 14, 2026", and the wiki created both pet articles within two minutes (Chihuahua 15:04 UTC).

The Mysterious Stranger's Task. A fork trail leads to the School. Knock on the stranger's door, then bring 6 Bundles of Forks for 75 Bucks — you walk a pet and wait for it to identify them. Repeatable once per in-game day.

Two new pets, both Ultra-Rare: Vit Ness the Chihuahua and Tux Kitt the Tuxedo Cat. Everything added, at the notes' prices:

The notes stop at "Basic & Crystal Egg", so odds come from the wiki (August 19, 2026): Basic Egg 400 Pet Releaser Tickets, Ultra-Rare 0.99%; Crystal Egg 4,000 tickets, Ultra-Rare 44%. Both hatch in 5 tasks. The wiki adds two details the notes omit: the free Admin Abuse Egg as a third Chihuahua source, and the Tuxedo Cat selling in the School.

Five bug fixes: faster Trading Hub offer cancel/decline; correct Trading Hub tooltips on tablet; House Edit tooltips restored; NPC dialogue no longer overrides Admin Abuse and 2D Tuesdays music; correct popup for trade-restricted countries.

What this means for players

The eggs aren't interchangeable: the Crystal Egg costs 10x more but hits Ultra-Rare ~44x as often. See our best pets ranking and 2026 tier list.

The quest is small money: 75 Bucks per in-game day won't fund the 1,300-Buck AR Glasses fast, and the Tuxedo Cat is Robux-only. New players: the beginner's guide; traders, the Frost Dragon walkthrough or our Robux guide.

Across August 12–19, 2026 the median concurrent count was 243,711 (25 samples), range 117,821 to 318,541 — every low reading predates the patch. At our August 19 check: 270,804 playing, 44.44 billion visits, 29,469,777 favourites, 86.1% likes, servers capped at 35.

• August 7, 2026 — 9th Birthday Party: Pollinator Season ended; Cake Friend sneezes scattered 1-Buck cake slices. Added the 2026 Birthday Butterfly (1,500 Bucks) and Cake Friend (99 Robux).
• July 31, 2026 — Trading Hub: cross-server trade boards via Robo Todd and Robo Rob. Listings 100 Bucks, two active at once, a third slot 49 Robux.
• July 24, 2026 — Bee Pass: six seeds from Joni's Seed Stall (25–75 Bucks); 50 XP per correct vase, 300 XP for all six bouquets.
• July 10, 2026 — Ducky Driving: a 90-second Acorn drive; Ruddy Duck at 29,000 Acorns.

What's next for Adopt Me?

The next update is on the developer's calendar: a second Uplift Games event, again titled "ADOPT ME NEW UPDATE!", starts Friday, August 21, 2026 at 15:05 UTC. Its generic description ("Adopt Me's latest update!") means its contents are not announced; the only hint is the post's teaser, "We have got to get inside that room..."

On rhythm: the last seven update posts landed on Fridays. A third event, "ADOPT ME ADMIN ABUSE!", runs August 22, 2026, 16:00–16:30 UTC — the weekly admin party. We log Jujutsu Shenanigans and Steal a Brainrot the same way.

How we sourced this

Four sources, all checked August 19, 2026. Every pet, rarity and price comes from the developer's Stray Case notes, none from an aggregator. Both event times: Roblox's virtual-events listing for universe 383310974 (verified Uplift Games group). Player counts and visits: the games API. Egg odds and ticket prices: the Adopt Me wiki, queried via its API so we could read revision timestamps first.

Caution: Roblox stamped the experience "updated" at 00:00 UTC on August 19, five days after the patch — that stamp moves for reasons unrelated to a content release, and the newest playadopt.me post was still the Stray Case when we checked. The game is on Roblox.
