DOORS' current patch is The Archives, live since August 28, 2026 and still current on September 2. It replaced The Rooms, and quietly added a second subfloor most coverage missed. See our DOORS hub.
Current update: The Archives (August 28, 2026)
LSPLASH filed the event as "THE ARCHIVES UPDATE" on universe 2440500124, opening 18:00:03 UTC on August 28 and running to October 1. The group's publish stamp reads 18:31:48 UTC that evening; the store description still opens "PLAY THE ARCHIVES NOW!"
That listing is the only official patch note, and it promises a single new subfloor. What shipped is larger. The Archives runs 26 lettered sectors, A to Z, of 50 doors each, an elevator at every _-050; 100 gold skips a sector, each further skip costing 25% more. Z-050 is the exit.
The Stairwell — the subfloor we missed
The Stairwell opens off The Mines at Door 152 (Door 169 from The Outdoors) behind a Skeleton Key lock and runs 199 rooms, with six entities of its own: Creak, Noise, Stem, Meld, Cobbler and Hijack. Stem leaps from lockers, dealing 5 damage per trample.

All seven are named now; only four were when we first published. Ransom is the sharpest revamp: it freezes your screen, then gives you 90 seconds to find 500 gold or it strips your items. Two caveats: the wiki tags Alma and Scribbles as fan names, and its changelog says "15 new entities" over a list of 16.
Items and badges
The "10+ items" list is up to nine, still flagged unconfirmed: Pizza, Pack Of Gween Soda, Mug, Waiting Ticket, Lunch Box, Paper Cup, Paper Plane, Fih Food and Portrait's Pocket Mirror. A water-filled Paper Cup hurts you in every colour pair but Blue and Red, which heals.
Badges are harder evidence, and our first count was low: DOORS minted 35 badges on August 28 — not 25 — between 00:18:33 and 00:28:00 UTC. As a difficulty ladder on September 2, Crowd Watching leads on 3,011,197 awards and Storage Wars is rarest at 625. Stairwell badges price its puzzles: Fried Mushrooms (burn Meld with a Fire Alarm) 54,964, Rage Room (disable Noise) 14,939, REDACTED (turn Noise into Hijack) 8,973.
What it changes for players
The big change costs nothing: every subfloor you've discovered is permanently free, with the A-1000 achievement turning exclusive in exchange. LSPLASH also added The Journal, new Hotel rooms and Admin Panel changes; Vitamins heal again. Dread now spawns after five minutes in one room, so camping is out. No code shipped with it — our DOORS codes page is unchanged since August 27 (how we verify).
Across 20 radar samples from August 29 to September 2, 2026, DOORS ran a median of 62,357 concurrent players in a 26,179–106,185 band; the eight pre-release samples the radar still holds (August 26–28) median 23,666. As of 20:14 UTC on September 2: 7,655,315,741 visits, 8,105,941 favourites, 93.0% likes (4,642,635 to 350,445).
What's next for DOORS
One date, nothing more. A second LSPLASH event, titled "???", starts 18:00 UTC on September 18, 2026; its description is also "???". Take the date, not the rumours.
Nothing has shipped in between. Of all 125 badges the newest is still Who Am I? from 00:28:00 UTC on August 28, and the wiki's patch log stops at August 24. Two of the universe's six places did republish on September 2 — the root at 11:53:30 UTC, DOORS (GAME) at 12:13:18, the rest untouched since 2025 — so a build went out. Nothing names it, so we are not calling it a patch.
