Ghost Driver Beginner's Guide – Combo Cash, the Car Ladder & Level Gates
By the end of this guide you will know the four controls that matter, exactly how the near-miss combo multiplier pays you, which car to buy first and what it costs, which level gates stand between you and the top of the dealership, and which of the nine game passes the store will actually sell you.
What this guide covers
- Learn the four controls first
- Farm Cash with near-miss combos
- Buy up the dealership ladder
- Stack quests and the free 2x XP boost
- Tune the engine, and know the real passes
- Watch the limited-car clock
Ghost Driver [PRE-ALPHA] is a highway traffic-weaving game by the verified group Tilted Vehicles (group 90273342, owner TiltedCars, 2,152,184 members), universe 10173311467 on place ID 137228775845999, created May 16, 2026. Read live on August 22, 2026: 23,252,351 visits, 420,288 favourites, and 263,069 likes against 4,508 dislikes — a 98.3% approval that is extraordinary for a game still labelled pre-alpha. Typical concurrency is 26,834 players, our seven-day median across 28 radar samples taken August 15–22, 2026 (range 15,518 to 42,074). Servers cap at 15 players.
Everything below is sourced: Roblox API data read on August 22, 2026, plus two named third-party guides for car prices and combo rules. We have no in-game access.
1. Learn the Four Controls Before You Merge Into Traffic
Tilted Vehicles publishes the control scheme in the game's own Roblox description, which we read on August 22, 2026. There are only four things to learn, and one of them decides how well you read traffic.
- W, A, S, D or the arrow keys — throttle, steering and brake. That is the whole driving model.
- V — change camera, including first person. Chase cam shows you more lanes; first person makes gaps easier to judge at speed.
- Shift — handbrake and drift. Use it for direction changes, not for slowing down.
- L — headlights, which matter because the Underglow Pass store text talks about lighting your car "day or night".
Mobile is supported: the Mobile Customization pass promises the customisation menu "right from your screen with a single tap". Servers hold 15 drivers, so the highway is mostly NPC traffic.
2. Farm Cash With Near-Miss Combos, Not Lap Times
Ghost Driver does not pay for finishing anything. Cash is earned by threading past NPC cars at speed, which starts a combo counter at the top of the screen, and the multiplier climbs the longer the streak survives and the faster you are going. Game Rant's August 21, 2026 page confirms Cash is the game's single progression currency.
Two rules separate players who earn from players who crash. First, hitting another vehicle resets the streak, but scraping a wall does not — that comes from an allthings.how guide by Pallav Pathak updated August 14, 2026, and it means the barrier is a legitimate escape route when a gap closes. Second, braking is the expensive habit: it costs speed and multiplier at once, and swerving is almost always the cheaper answer. PCGamesN's August 20, 2026 page describes the same streak-lost-on-crash mechanic independently.
Long clean runs also feed a Global Top Combos leaderboard, so what funds your garage is what ranks you. For a Cash head start, the two working codes are worth 20,000 Cash between them — that list, with sources and the exact redeem path, lives on our Ghost Driver codes page.
3. Buy Up the Dealership Ladder — Price Does Not Equal Power
Cars are bought at the Dealership near your spawn point: walk into the green circle and the purchase menu opens, per Gamepur's car list published August 20, 2026. That list is currently the only published, priced roster for this game, so treat it as a well-sourced map rather than gospel — and note that a rival outlet spells one of the same models "Weinchen V120" where Gamepur has a V20 and a V80.
| Car | Price | HP | Top speed | 0–60 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Wulfbrecht RZ7 (starter) | Free | 310 | 168 MPH | 4.6s |
| Kitsuni LX | $40,000 | 450 | 165 MPH | 3.1s |
| Weinchen V20 | $85,000 | 460 | 177 MPH | 3.9s |
| Rangy Helly | $120,000 | 710 | 189 MPH | 3.5s |
| Voss RT8 | $260,000 | 780 | 205 MPH | 3.0s |
| Shelly LZ1 | $360,000 | 755 | 212 MPH | 2.9s |
| Voss RT10 TT | $760,000 | 750 | 215 MPH | 2.6s |
Read the ladder, not the price tags. The Kitsuni LX at $40,000 is the obvious first purchase: it trades one MPH of top speed for a 1.5-second gain in 0–60 over the free Wulfbrecht RZ7, and acceleration is what rebuilds a combo after a gap closes. The Voss RT8 at $260,000 is the value peak — 780 HP is the highest figure on the list, above the $760,000 Voss RT10 TT. Gamepur makes the same point: cheap cars with high stats are the efficient Cash farmers.
4. Stack Distance Quests and the Free 2x XP Boost
Combos are the income; quests are the top-up, and they pay you for driving you were doing anyway. The published example is Daily Quest 6: drive 50,000 studs for 750 Cash and 500 Stars, with Weekly Quest 1 at 250,000 studs and Weekly Quest 2 at 500,000 studs paying Cash and Stars on the same distance model (allthings.how, August 14, 2026). There is also a 2x XP Boost that runs 20 minutes and costs nothing — it is unlocked by watching an ad from the Shop's Boosts tab.
XP feeds a level ladder that has been in the game since day two: the Level 10, 20, 30, 40 and 50 badges were all created on May 17, 2026, one day after launch. Their award counts, read on August 22, 2026, are the most honest progression data available for this game.
| Milestone | Players holding it | Share of joiners |
|---|---|---|
| Joined Ghost Driver | 9,581,332 | 100% |
| Level 10 | 249,811 | 2.6% |
| Level 20 | 41,608 | 0.43% |
| Level 30 | 9,991 | 0.10% |
| Level 40 | 3,790 | 0.04% |
| Level 50 | 1,882 | 0.02% |
Reaching Level 50 puts you in roughly one account in 5,090. The practical takeaway for a beginner: the level requirements attached to top-end cars are real walls, not formalities, so run the free boost during quest pushes rather than during idle cruising. The rarest badge of all is "Get Certified", added on August 4, 2026 and awarded just 658 times by August 22 — a newer skill challenge, not a level.
5. Tune the Engine, and Know Which Passes Are Real
Once you own a car worth keeping, the money goes into tuning. Dexerto's August 18, 2026 page describes upgrades as engine and fuel tuning, and the developer's own store text confirms the engine track is staged: the Stage 4 Tuning pass "unlocks the highest tier of engine upgrades for blistering acceleration and top speeds", which tells you Stages 1 to 3 are the in-game grind and Stage 4 is the paid ceiling.
Ghost Driver's universe carries nine game passes, but only six are for sale. All six were created on July 26, 2026, and these are their live prices as read from the Roblox game-pass API on August 22, 2026:
| Game pass | Price | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Mobile Customization | 79 Robux | Opens the customisation menu on touch devices |
| RGB Lighting | 99 Robux | Premium lighting customisation on all your vehicles |
| Custom License Plates | 149 Robux | Your own text on the rear plate of every car |
| Underglow Pass | 199 Robux | Custom underglow lighting |
| Global Radio | 249 Robux | Broadcast music other players across the map can tune into |
| Stage 4 Tuning | 399 Robux | Top tier of engine upgrades |
That is 1,174 Robux for the set, and only Stage 4 Tuning changes performance — the other five are cosmetic or convenience. The remaining three passes are not for sale at any price: X2 XP and X2 Cash (created August 11, 2026) and a Police Pass created at 12:15 UTC on August 21, 2026. They are unreleased entries, so ignore any guide that prices them.
6. Watch the Limited-Car Clock
Ghost Driver runs cars on hard deadlines, and the clock is public. Tilted Vehicles' own Roblox event listing, created August 18, scheduled the "New Limited Car!" update for 18:00 UTC on August 21, 2026 and closes it at 18:00 UTC on August 28, 2026. The developer lists five contents: one new limited car, data issues fixed, a new anti-cheat system, new customisation options and minor bug fixes. That end date is your window — earlier limiteds, the Castellani Specchiera and the Takama F10 GT, carried cut-offs of August 22 and August 21 respectively, so the Takama's window has already closed.
Two consequences. The new anti-cheat makes the auto-drive scripts circulating on YouTube a bad idea. And a limited car needs Cash banked before the window opens, which is what the quest-plus-boost routine is for. Drops are announced in the official Discord, 38,966 members with 7,292 online on August 22, 2026.
If you want a driving game with a longer, better-documented economy while Ghost Driver is still pre-alpha, Car Dealership Tycoon and Midnight Racing: Tokyo are the closest established alternatives, and our best Roblox games of 2026 roundup covers the wider field.

Frequently Asked Questions
Near-miss combos, not finishing anything. You build a multiplier by threading past NPC traffic at high speed; the faster you go and the longer the streak runs, the more each pass pays. Hitting another vehicle resets the streak — scraping a wall does not (allthings.how, August 14, 2026). Braking to feel safe drops your speed and your multiplier at the same time. Distance quests stack on top: Daily Quest 6 pays 750 Cash and 500 Stars for 50,000 studs driven.
Everyone starts in the free Wulfbrecht RZ7 (310 HP, 168 MPH, 0–60 in 4.6s on Gamepur's August 20, 2026 list). The first car worth buying is the Kitsuni LX at $40,000 — 450 HP, 165 MPH and 0–60 in 3.1s, so it barely gains top speed but is 1.5 seconds quicker off the line. Price does not track power here: the $260,000 Voss RT8 is listed at 780 HP, more than the $760,000 Voss RT10 TT.
Level 15, per Gamepur's August 20, 2026 list, at $1,800,000 or 1,550 Robux. That gate is steeper than it sounds: badge data read on August 22, 2026 shows 9,581,332 accounts joined the game but only 249,811 reached Level 10 and 41,608 reached Level 20. The Takama was also a limited car with a cut-off of August 21, so it may no longer be on the forecourt.
