Sailor Piece has had a massive May 2026, with two major updates landing within ten days of each other. The Ghoul Update dropped on May 19, bringing a brand-new melee style, a locked island, and a mastery system. Before that, the Huge Update on May 10 introduced Raids, new weapons, and secret race evolutions. We've been grinding through both patches since they went live, and this is the full breakdown of everything that changed.
The Ghoul Update is the newer of the two patches, and it's focused on combat variety and progression. Shadowrise Devs, the studio behind Sailor Piece (led by owner Alex1234usus1), has been steadily expanding the game since its launch on November 17, 2025. This update continues that momentum with meaningful additions rather than filler content.
The headline feature is Black Reaper, a new melee style that hits hard and chains fast. It comes loaded with multiple abilities designed for sustained pressure, and from what we've tested so far, the damage output is genuinely impressive. Each hit flows into the next with minimal recovery frames, making it one of the smoothest melee options currently available.
Where Black Reaper really stands out is versatility. It's strong for grinding mobs because the chaining speed lets you clear groups without much downtime between kills. In PvP, the fast attack sequences make it difficult for opponents to find openings to counter. If you've been running the same melee style for weeks, this is worth picking up.
Compared to existing options, Black Reaper sits comfortably alongside the top-tier fruits like Dragon Fruit, Fiend Fruit, and Kitsune Fruit in terms of raw effectiveness. Those S+ tier fruits still dominate ranged encounters, but for close-quarters combat, Black Reaper competes with the best of them.
Isolation Island is the new area added in this update, and it works differently from other islands in the game. You can't just hop on your boat and sail there. The island is locked behind the Blood Flower Quest, and you won't find it on the map until you've completed that quest chain first.
The island itself serves as a mid-to-late game zone with new enemies and resources. It's not the largest area they've added, but the content density is solid. Every corner of the island has something to interact with, which is a welcome change from some of the emptier zones in the base game.
This is arguably the most important piece of the Ghoul Update because it gates access to Isolation Island. The Blood Flower Quest starts with a hidden NPC on Starter Island. And when we say hidden, we mean it — this NPC is easy to miss if you're not actively looking. The quest giver blends into the environment, so check every corner of Starter Island carefully.
Once you pick up the quest, it involves a series of objectives that guide you through existing content before eventually granting you passage to Isolation Island. Don't skip the dialogue. The quest steps aren't obvious, and missing a detail from the NPC can leave you wandering without direction.
The new Mastery System adds a layer of progression that Sailor Piece has been missing. You can access it on Starter Island in Sea 2, or through the inventory button in your UI. The system tracks your usage of specific weapons and fighting styles, rewarding you with incremental upgrades as you put in time with each one.
This matters because it gives players a reason to stick with their chosen build rather than constantly swapping. The bonuses aren't massive enough to make the system feel mandatory, but they're meaningful enough that dedicated players will notice the difference over time.
Beyond the marquee features, the Ghoul Update also brought new cosmetics, auras, a bloodline, index milestones, accessories, and a title. There are also several quality-of-life improvements scattered throughout. The QoL changes are the kind of fixes that don't make headlines but make the daily experience smoother — menu responsiveness, UI clarity, and minor bug patches.
The Huge Update arrived nine days before the Ghoul Update and fundamentally changed endgame progression. If the Ghoul Update was about combat variety, this one was about giving high-level players a reason to keep logging in.
Raids are the biggest addition and the first true cooperative endgame mode Sailor Piece has offered. They're located on Blue Planet Island, and the entry requirements are steep for a reason — this content is designed for committed players.
To enter a Raid, you need a Raid key. These drop from NPCs in Sea 2, but only when you defeat them using fists (Combat). Sword kills and fruit ability kills won't give you keys. On top of the key requirement, you need to be Ascension 5 or higher, at least level 12,500, and have completed two prerequisite quests.
The requirements sound harsh, but they make sense once you're inside. Raids are tuned for players who've mastered the game's combat systems. Going in underleveled or unprepared means getting wiped quickly. If you're not at the required level yet, treat the Raid requirements as your next set of goals rather than a barrier.
Three new weapons arrived in the Huge Update. Sun God and Dual Wielder are the two new swords, each with distinct movesets that fill different roles. Sun God leans toward single-target burst damage, making it effective against bosses and tough NPCs. Dual Wielder emphasizes speed and multi-hit combos, which works better for clearing groups and applying pressure in PvP.
Spirit Warrior is the new melee weapon. It occupies a different niche than Black Reaper — where Black Reaper focuses on fast chains, Spirit Warrior delivers fewer hits with more weight behind each one. Your preference between the two will depend on whether you favor speed or raw per-hit damage.
Two secret race evolutions were added: Archangel and Reaper. These are hidden evolutions that require specific conditions to unlock, and the community is still working out the exact steps for both. What we know so far is that the conditions involve completing certain content in Sea 2 and meeting race-specific requirements that aren't spelled out in any in-game text.
Both evolutions provide substantial stat boosts and visual changes. Archangel skews toward defensive bonuses, while Reaper emphasizes offensive power. If you're serious about optimizing your build, one of these evolutions should be on your radar.
The Huge Update included a long list of balance adjustments and QoL improvements that quietly reshaped the game. World boss spawn times were reduced from 30 minutes to 20 minutes, which means more opportunities to farm them per session. This is a significant time savings if world bosses are part of your daily routine.
Hidden pity was added for the Dragon Goddess sword, meaning you're now guaranteed to get it after a certain number of attempts. The exact pity threshold hasn't been officially confirmed, but it removes the worst-case scenario of farming indefinitely with nothing to show for it. Rune pity requirements were also lowered across the board.
Item drop chances received a general buff, Sailor Island was revamped with updated visuals and NPC placements, and a new quest info button was added so you can check your current objectives without hunting through menus. The game also introduced new bloodlines, a clan system, and an index progression tracker that gives you milestones to work toward.
Two updates in ten days means the meta is still settling. Here's where things stand based on our testing.
Black Reaper is a strong contender for best melee in the game right now. The fast chaining gives it an edge over slower melee options in both PvE grinding and PvP fights. It doesn't replace the top fruits — Dragon Fruit, Fiend Fruit, and Kitsune Fruit are still S+ tier for a reason — but it's the best melee companion to pair with any of those fruits.
If you're running a melee-focused build, Black Reaper should be your first priority from the Ghoul Update. Spirit Warrior from the Huge Update is a solid alternative if you prefer a heavier-hitting style, but Black Reaper's speed gives it the edge in most situations.
Before the Huge Update, endgame progression in Sea 2 was mostly about farming world bosses and grinding levels. Raids add a structured challenge that rewards coordinated play. The loot from Raids is worth the effort, and the reduced world boss timers mean you can fit both activities into a single play session.
The Ascension 5 and level 12,500 requirements mean Raids aren't for everyone yet. But if you're already in that range, this is the content you've been waiting for. It gives Sea 2 a sense of purpose beyond just hitting the next level milestone.
Archangel and Reaper evolutions are going to matter for competitive players. The stat boosts from these evolutions are large enough to influence matchups. Expect to see more players grinding for these evolutions over the coming weeks as the unlock conditions become more widely known.
If you're logging in after a break and wondering where to start, here's the priority order we'd recommend.
Major updates almost always come with fresh codes, and both the Ghoul Update and Huge Update were no exception. Codes from large patches tend to expire faster than regular promotional codes, so redeem them quickly.

The Ghoul Update released on May 19, 2026. It added the Black Reaper melee style, Isolation Island, the Blood Flower Quest, and a new mastery system along with cosmetics, auras, and quality-of-life improvements.
You cannot sail to Isolation Island directly. You must first complete the Blood Flower Quest, which is given by a hidden NPC on Starter Island. The NPC is easy to miss, so check every corner of the island carefully. Finishing the quest unlocks access to Isolation Island.
Raids are located on Blue Planet Island and have four requirements: Ascension 5 or higher, level 12,500 or above, completion of two prerequisite quests, and a Raid key. Raid keys only drop from Sea 2 NPCs when you defeat them using fists (Combat) — sword and fruit kills won't work.
Black Reaper is a new melee style introduced in the Ghoul Update on May 19, 2026. It features multiple abilities with heavy damage output and fast chaining attacks. It's effective for both grinding and PvP, making it one of the strongest melee options currently available in the game.
The Huge Update on May 10, 2026 added two secret race evolutions: Archangel and Reaper. Archangel provides defensive stat boosts while Reaper emphasizes offensive power. Both require specific hidden conditions in Sea 2 to unlock, and the community is still mapping out the full requirements.
