Updated September 4, 2026 — re-read against the Roblox games and votes APIs, our radar and Rolimon’s ten-minute series. Three things here were stale: the live build is [TRADING] Vehicle Trading, not Boat Smuggling; the August 29 “next update” has shipped; and the player count was four times the real one.

What is the current San Diego Border Roleplay update?

The live build is [TRADING] Vehicle Trading, out Saturday, August 29, 2026 at 17:00 UTC. Four records put it there, none a tracker:

Roblox’s group games listing stamps the place published at 17:24 UTC on August 29, 2026 — the universe’s last real publish stamp. (The games/v1 “updated” field reads September 2; that is a rolling counter, not a patch date.)
The bracket tag flipped from [🌊] to [TRADING] between our own dated nightly snapshots of August 28 and August 29.
Rolimon’s ten-minute sampling records 130,641 players at 17:10 UTC on August 29 — the all-time high, ten minutes after the doors opened. (Some pages date the drop to Saturday, August 30; August 30, 2026 was a Sunday.)
The studio pre-announced it as a Roblox event we read on August 26: Vehicle Trading, “New vehicle trading hub!”, with “SPECIAL PROMOTION: Join within the first 30 minutes for $200k!”

Not verified: the trading hub’s mechanics — where the terminal sits, what it charges, which vehicles trade. The only site describing them is an auto-generated wiki farm registered three months after launch, so we do not repeat it. Freshness test: any page still calling this game [🌊] or [BIKES] predates August 29, 2026.

What happened to the player count on September 2?

This is what most published stats for this game now get wrong. After the August 29 record the population fell back normally — then on September 2, 2026 it stepped off a cliff. Rolimon’s series reads 27,448 players at 10:20 UTC, 183 at 11:40, and it has not passed 10,213 since. Roblox stamps the place republished at 11:45:48 UTC, which explains the momentary floor — a republish closes every server — but not a population still at a quarter of its old level two days on. We do not know the cause and will not invent one.

What’s next for San Diego Border Roleplay?

The studio’s description states the policy — “Live development — biweekly updates” — and our dated radar snapshots show it holding: [BIKES] August 1, [🌊] Boat Smuggling August 15, [TRADING] Vehicle Trading August 29. Three drops, all Saturdays, fourteen days apart. Next on that cadence: Saturday, September 12, 2026.

That is a pattern, not an announcement. On September 4, 2026 the Roblox events feed returned zero entries here — but also zero for our live control games, so it is a reading we failed to take, not proof nothing is scheduled.
