San Diego Border Roleplay is a border-checkpoint roleplay game with a real cash economy: smuggle contraband past the scanner, or wear the uniform and catch the people who do. This guide covers the current [TRADING] Vehicle Trading build, every team, the twelve game passes at their verified Robux prices, and how to earn free Robux for them.

What Is San Diego Border Roleplay on Roblox in 2026?

San Diego Border Roleplay is a roleplay game by the San Diego Border Community group, played at place ID 136020512003847. It drops you into a San Diego, California inspired map built around a land border checkpoint. You spawn a vehicle, drive toward the border, and get waved through or pulled aside by Border Patrol agents — or you sign up as an agent and work the line yourself.

This is not a freeform roleplay sandbox. There is a full cash economy underneath it: you buy contraband, hide it in your vehicle, beat a detection roll at the scanner, sell on the other side, and launder the proceeds from a briefcase. Enforcement players draw a salary and XP, rank up through team tiers, and hunt anyone carrying a wanted level. The game's own achievement list confirms it — Serious Criminal (reach a 5-star wanted level) and High-Value Haul (launder $20,000 from a single briefcase).

Lifetime totals are still climbing, but the live population is not. Created on March 8, 2026, the game has 173.4 million visits (173,439,294), 246,725 favourites and an 85.4% like rating (124,084 up / 21,242 down) as of September 3, 2026 — visits are up roughly 22 million in the eight days since our last check. Concurrent players are a different story: they peaked at an all-time 130,641 on August 29 and, after a sharp step down on September 2, now sit near 6,200. The Current Update: [TRADING] Vehicle Trading

The bracket tag in the Roblox title is an update marker, not decoration — it churns with every content drop. It now reads [TRADING], and it flipped there from the previous [🌊] wave tag between our radar snapshots of August 28 and August 29, 2026.

Vehicle Trading went live on Saturday, August 29, 2026 at 17:00 UTC. We can date that to the minute without taking anyone's word for it, because three independent records agree:

• The developers announced it in advance. The studio publishes each drop as a Roblox event you can sign up for; we read that listing on August 26 and recorded it on this page three days before it happened — named Vehicle Trading, subtitled "New vehicle trading hub!", with one line of detail: "SPECIAL PROMOTION: Join within the first 30 minutes of the update for $200k!"
• The concurrent-player curve has the release in it. Rolimon's ten-minute sampling reads 67,212 players at 16:50 UTC, 81,048 at 17:00, and 130,641 at 17:10 — the game's all-time record, set ten minutes after the doors opened, and exactly the shape a first-30-minutes promotion produces.
• The title tag moved in the same window, per our own dated radar snapshots.

We have not verified the trading hub's mechanics in-game — where the terminal sits, what it charges, which vehicles are tradeable — so this guide does not describe them. Several pages that do describe them are not sources we will repeat: one, sandiegoborderroleplay.wiki, was registered on June 20, 2026 through Spaceship, Inc. behind Cloudflare, three months after the game launched, which is the standard fingerprint of an auto-generated game-wiki farm. We will add the detail once we have played it.

What happened to the player count on September 2

This matters more than the feature list, because most published stats for this game are now stale. After the August 29 record, the population fell back the way a launch spike normally does — roughly 54,600 at peak on August 31, about 44,600 at peak on September 1. Then, on September 2 between 10:00 and 12:00 UTC, it stepped down hard: 26,086 players at 10:00, and under 10,100 for every reading afterwards. Roblox stamps the place as republished at 11:45:48 UTC that day, inside that window. A republish shuts every live server, which explains the momentary floor of 183 players — but it does not explain the population sitting at roughly a quarter of its previous level for the whole following day, and we do not know what does. We are reporting the measurement, not a cause.

Since that step down — September 2, 12:00 UTC to September 3, 10:00 UTC — the game has run between 5,532 and 10,113 concurrent players, median about 7,300. Across September 3 alone the range narrows to 5,532–6,863, median about 6,200. If a guide tells you this game runs 40,000–70,000 players, it was measured before September 2 and has not been re-checked since.

The previous drop: [🌊] Boat Smuggling, August 15, 2026

Boat Smuggling went live on Saturday, August 15, 2026 at 17:00 UTC (1PM ET). The developers' own Roblox event page for it read: "Smuggle goods across the border by sea! This update also adds a new Coast Guard team." The studio's X account posted "BOAT SMUGGLING, EL CAPO MANSION, BANK REVAMP, & MORE" two minutes later, at 17:02 UTC. It is still the build most of the rest of this guide describes, and four things in it change the advice in an older guide:

• There is now a sea route. New smuggling docks near spawn hand out boat missions from a smuggler NPC. They work like the existing truck runs — accept the job, take the assigned boat, cross — except the water has no checkpoint booth to bluff your way through. Crossing the line in a smuggling boat is reported to flag you at one star automatically, so the Coast Guard always knows you are coming.
• A Coast Guard team patrols that route. It is the enforcement counterpart to boat smuggling and it ranks up like the land teams. It is the only enforcement team with boats — three of them, the Police Patrol Boat, the Response Boat and the Weaponized Boat. Civilians get a boat too, but only the one a smuggling mission assigns them. There is no Coast Guard game pass, so it is not a paid role.
• The bank was rebuilt. The revamp added a second, underground entrance defended by lasers and cameras, a C4 charge that blows a wall open for a third exit, and more cash in the vault. That makes the 69-Robux Starter Pack, which hands you a single-use C4, unusually relevant to bank runs.
• El Capo owners got a mansion. The 639-Robux El Capo pass promises a "custom area" to spawn in, and the update is what delivered it: car spawners, ammo, pass-exclusive weapons, a new painting to sell and a laundering point upstairs.

The layout detail above rests on a single source, GameStratWiki's August 16, 2026 update walkthrough; the pass wording is read straight from the Roblox game-pass API.

The studio ships on a strict biweekly Saturday cadence — August 15 and August 29 both landed at 17:00 UTC on a Saturday — and publishes each drop as a Roblox event you can sign up for in advance. On that cadence the next content drop falls on Saturday, September 12, 2026; as of September 3 no event for it has been posted, so treat that date as the pattern rather than an announcement. The badge list has not changed since June 2, 2026, so badges cannot date any of this — the event listings and the player curve are what do.

How to Play Both Sides of the Checkpoint

Every session starts with a team pick, and that pick decides how you earn.

Running goods as a Civilian

Buy contraband at the Black Market by spawn, summon a vehicle from the tablets next to the parking lot, and drive the main road to the checkpoint. Every item carries a detection percentage, so a cheap crate is a low-risk crossing and a high-value item is a coin flip. Sell to the Smuggled Goods Seller on the US side, then launder the money from a briefcase. Since August 15 you can run the same loop by boat from the new smuggling docks instead, trading the scanner for a Coast Guard chase. Working the line as Border Patrol

Sign up as an agent and take the booth. You scan arriving vehicles, grant entry, or send a driver to secondary inspection, and you draw a salary plus XP per action. The scanner is the mechanic the entire Civilian side is built to beat, so a few sessions on the booth is the fastest way to understand what actually gets you caught. Police work the city instead of the booth, arresting wanted players and raiding the money printers civilians stash in apartments.

Teams, Ranks and Roles

Seven teams were playable before the August 15 update — Civilian, Border Patrol and Police free, plus FBI, US Army, SWAT and BORTAC behind game passes — and Boat Smuggling added the Coast Guard. Each team has its own vehicles, uniforms, loadouts and gear, exactly as the game description promises, and each one levels: the achievement list confirms max ranks named Director (FBI), Captain (US Army), Troop Commander (Police) and Chief of the Line (Border Patrol), plus a Tier III milestone on every federal team.

Those max ranks are genuinely rare. Measured against the 30,508,619 awards of the join badge, only 73,008 players hold Chief of the Line (Border Patrol), 79,925 Troop Commander (Police), 6,362 Director (FBI), 3,817 Captain (US Army) — and just 468 have Federal Career, the Tier III-on-every-federal-team badge. You do not need a paid team. The three free teams cover both halves of the core loop; the paid ones mostly buy better weapons, unmarked or military vehicles, and a faster route into an enforcement niche. Game Passes and What They Cost

These are every game pass on sale for the experience, with prices read from the Roblox game-pass API on September 3, 2026. All twelve are still on sale and no price has moved since our August 26 check — Vehicle Trading did not add a pass. If a site lists a pass that is not on this list, it does not exist.

Starter Pack at 69 Robux is the only pass that hands you cash. The team passes are the expensive tier, and none are required — the free teams play the same map.

Roleplay Tips

A few habits that make every session better:

• Run cheap goods until you know the scanner. A failed high-value crossing costs more than several clean cheap ones earn. Learn which items the booth actually catches before you scale up.
• Do not measure yourself against a millionaire. The badge counts say $10,000 is normal (22,735,102 awards), $100,000 is uncommon (1,631,590) and $1,000,000 is genuinely rare (224,188), all against 30.5 million join-badge awards as of August 26, 2026.
• Watch your wanted level. Equipping a weapon near a federal agent flags you on its own, and a 5-star wanted level turns the whole server's enforcement side into your problem.
• Do not use exploits. The description carries an explicit auto-farm and cheating ban warning from the developers. It is not a bluff worth testing.
