Sell Lemons Ascension Guide – When to Ascend, Multipliers & Best Order
Ascension is the prestige reset in Sell Lemons, BloxByte Games' tycoon-idle hit that has pulled in over 418 million visits with a 7-day median of roughly 12,700 players online as of August 18, 2026. This guide answers the questions that actually decide your run: when to ascend, exactly how much each ascension multiplies your cash, which Forever Purchase to spend your token on first, and what you keep versus lose.

When to ascend in Sell Lemons
Ascension is not something you unlock early. It sits at the very top of the progression tree, above Rebirths and Fruit Evolutions. You can only ascend once you have climbed the Staircase and bought its final tier, The End, which costs 320 Octogintillion money. Buying The End unlocks the Ascension platform, and stepping onto it triggers the reset.
In practice, that requirement means one thing: buy everything first. Before you ascend, you should have purchased every button, every income source, and every Staircase tier available in your current run. There is no reward for hoarding cash on the platform — the ascension multiplier is fixed, so any money left unspent is simply wasted.
Once you can afford The End, ascend immediately. Each ascension hands you a permanent multiplier that will make your next full climb dramatically faster than the one you just finished, so delaying only slows you down.
Ascension multipliers explained (the math)
Here is the core of the system, with real numbers. Every ascension grants a x7.77 cash multiplier. At the same time, upgrade prices scale up by x3.33. Divide the two and you get a net ~x2.33 progression speed boost per ascension — that is how much faster you genuinely reach The End on your next run.
The key word is compounding. Ascension multipliers stack multiplicatively, not additively, so the total balloons quickly:
| Ascension | Total cash multiplier |
|---|---|
| 1st | x7.77 |
| 5th | ~x28,320 |
| 10th | ~x802,000,000 |
By your tenth ascension your cash income is over 800 million times your very first run. This is why the endgame is a snowball: the first ascension is a grind, but by the fifth or sixth the whole climb to The End collapses into a handful of minutes. Every ascension also grants one Halo (a cosmetic that displays your ascension count above your head, up to five), one Forever Purchase Token, and access to the Ascension Lounge leaderboards.
Best Forever Purchase order
The Forever Purchase Token you earn each ascension is the single most important decision in the game, because Forever Purchases are permanent — once bought, they survive every future Rebirth, Evolution, and Ascension. Spend them in the wrong order and you throw away hours of progress. Community consensus on the priority is remarkably consistent:
- Wormhole Development (LemonX, base cost $79 quinseptuagintillion) — grants a x42 global cash boost, the largest global cash boost in the game. This is the universal first pick; do not spend token one on anything else.
- Galactic Empire (LemonX, $58 unquinquagintillion) — x16 global cash. It ties Sentient Lemons on effect but costs far less, so it is the better second token.
- Sentient Lemons (LemonX, $305 tressexagintillion) — the other x16 global cash boost, third.
- LemonX itself ($88.5 sexvigintillion) — unlocks the top-tier income source, which makes the start of every future ascension much quicker.
- Manager (LemonX) ($26.5 novemvigintillion) — automates LemonX so it runs without manual input.
- Global speed multipliers — mainly the three x4 Speed buttons and the one x3 Speed button. After that, everything is optional: managers and upgrades for Republic, Robotics, Labs, Trading, Depot, Dash and Stand, then hill expansions, structures and decorations last.
What resets vs what carries over
Ascension is a hard reset of the run layer, but your permanent progress is safe. Knowing exactly which side of the line each thing falls on stops you from panicking when your Investors vanish.
| Carries over | Resets / lost |
|---|---|
| Permanent ascension cash multipliers | All current Cash |
| Every Forever Purchase you own | All Investors and all Investor-bought Powers |
| Halos (ascension count, max 5) and Ascended Lounge access | All active Evolutions and your current Fruit (back to Lemon) |
| Your entire Orchard — Tokens, Fruits, Fruit Trees, Mutations | Every button, including Hill Expansions and the whole Staircase |
| Companions, Badges, and both Sewer keys (UFO Key, Sewer Key) | All income source upgrades and all teleport access |
| Every Robux purchase, without exception | — |
One nuance worth knowing: every Robux purchase is permanent across all three reset layers, but the Investor-bought version of the same thing is not. Buy Remote Buy with 1 trigintillion Investors and it is wiped on your next Evolution or Ascension; buy the same Power for 999 Robux and you keep it forever. The in-game Robux shop is separate from the Powers menu — it sells Speed Up Time (double the income speed of everything, permanently) for 799 Robux, an extra Forever Purchase token for 1,499 Robux, a 2x Investor Bonus for 699, and free Rebirth / free Evolve for 99 and 115. Prices vary by region.
Sell Lemons has no purchasable game passes — the three passes attached to the experience (2x Cash, Extra Slots, VIP) are unused BloxByte templates and are all flagged not-for-sale, so ignore any list that tries to sell you on them. If you want Robux for the shop items that are real, our Sell Lemons hub tracks what is worth it, and you can earn Robux without spending real money — more on that below.
How to reach The End faster
Ascension multipliers only apply once you complete a full climb, so your real goal between ascensions is to reach The End as fast as possible. Three sub-systems feed into that: Rebirths, Fruit Evolutions, and Powers.
Rebirth for Investors
Rebirth is the first reset layer, unlocked by talking to Joe the Alien at his UFO once you pass roughly 1 Sextillion cash. Rebirthing converts the total cash you earned that run into Investors, a currency you spend on Powers. Rebirth early and often within a run — it is a much smaller reset than ascension and directly fuels your Power purchases.
Fruit Evolutions up to Purity
Void Evolution is the second reset layer, unlocked once your total Investors earned (spent, held, and pending from a Rebirth) passes 501.2 quadrillion. There are 10 fruits in the ladder:
Lemon → Orange → Lime → Grapefruit → Tangerine → Pomelo → Abyssalime → Nullfruit → Voidlemon → Purity.
After Purity it loops back to Lemon, but as Lemon+1, and repeats indefinitely. Each evolution grants a x42 Global Speed multiplier that stacks multiplicatively with every previous one — x42 at Orange, x1,764 at Lime, and x406.6 trillion by Purity — so chaining evolutions is the single biggest speed gain you have before ascending. Evolution wipes your Investors and Powers, but your Orchard and everything on The Staircase survive it.
Show up for Alien Invasions
Alien Invasions are prescheduled live events that flood the map with dropped fruit and multiply your cash generation for their duration — by orders of magnitude at their peak. Nothing else in the game compresses a climb the way an invasion does, so if one is scheduled, be online for it. Note that BloxByte is completely overhauling invasions in v1.3.0 on August 22, 2026, so any specific multiplier numbers you find quoted from the July 25 invasion are about to be obsolete.
Spend Investors on the right Powers
Investors buy Powers that cut the time per run. The ones that matter most:
| Power | Effect | Cost |
|---|---|---|
| Manage | Manage all income sources from one place | 100 Investors (or 199 Robux) |
| Expert Picker | x2 / x4 / x8 fruit picking, and more cash for picking | 250 / 1 million / 1 quintillion Investors (149 Robux per tier) |
| Run Faster | x1.5 / x2 / x3 / x4 walk speed | 400 / 1 billion / 1 octillion / 1 tresvigintillion Investors (99 Robux per tier) |
| Stack Upgrade | Upgrade +5 / +25 / +100 / max times per click | 1,000 / 1 trillion / 1 decillion / 1 vigintillion Investors (199 Robux per tier) |
| Remote Buy | Buy the next thing remotely, without walking to it | 1 trigintillion Investors (or 999 Robux) |
| Auto Eater | Eats fruit from your Orchard automatically | 1 tredecillion Investors (or 499 Robux) |
Manage at 100 Investors is the cheapest quality-of-life win in the game, because it lets you buy upgrades without walking the whole map. Take it first, then Run Faster and Stack Upgrade, then push Expert Picker tiers as your Investor count climbs. Note that Powers survive a Rebirth but are wiped by both Evolution and Ascension — unless you bought the tier with Robux, in which case it is permanent.
Common ascension mistakes
Most stalled runs come down to the same handful of errors:
- Ascending too early. Ascending before you can buy The End is impossible, but rushing to it while skipping Rebirths and Evolutions means you carry a weaker foundation into every future run.
- Wasting your first Forever Purchase Token. Buying a minor upgrade instead of Wormhole Development's x42 global cash is the most expensive mistake in the game — it is permanent, so a bad first pick follows you forever.
- Ignoring offline income. Sell Lemons pays 100% of your income while you are offline. Spend all your cash on upgrades before you log off so your offline rate is as high as possible.
- Hoarding cash on the ascension platform. The multiplier is fixed at x7.77 regardless of your balance, so unspent money is wasted. Buy everything, then ascend.
- Spending every token right before a patch. With v1.3.0 landing on August 22, 2026, bank a Forever Purchase token or two now so you can drop them on whatever the update adds.

Frequently Asked Questions
Ascend once you have climbed the Staircase and bought The End for 320 Octogintillion money, which unlocks the Ascension platform. In practice that means buying every button, income source and upgrade in your current tycoon first. Each ascension then grants a permanent x7.77 cash multiplier, so once you can afford The End there is no reason to wait.
Every ascension grants a x7.77 cash multiplier while prices rise by x3.33, for a net progression speed of roughly x2.33 per ascension. Because it compounds multiplicatively, the growth snowballs fast: around x28,320 by your 5th ascension and roughly x802 million by your 10th.
Your permanent cash multipliers, every Forever Purchase, your Halos and Ascended Lounge access, your whole Orchard (Tokens, Fruits, Fruit Trees and Mutations), your Companions, your Badges, your Sewer keys, and every Robux purchase all carry over. Ascending wipes your current Cash, every button including the entire Staircase, all your Investors and Investor-bought Powers, and all your Evolutions, returning you to Lemon.
