Bite by Night Tier List (2026) — Best Survivors & Killers Ranked
Bite by Night hit Roblox on March 28, 2026, and peaked at 103,460 concurrent players within its first 10 minutes. The asymmetrical survival horror game pits Survivors against a single Killer, and knowing which characters perform best can mean the difference between escaping and getting wiped. We've been playing since launch day, and this tier list reflects what we've learned across hundreds of matches.
The game still pulls around 40,700 players daily as of April 2026, so the meta is active and evolving. Whether you're queueing up as a Survivor or hunting as a Killer, this ranking covers every available character and where they stand right now. S Tier Survivors
These are the Survivors that consistently shape how matches play out. If you want the strongest odds of escaping, pick one of these three.
Medic
The Medic is the single most valuable Survivor in Bite by Night right now. Their core tool is THE METHOD (a medkit), which delivers a 30 HP heal to any teammate. But the real power comes from overheal: if the target is already at max health, they still receive 15 bonus HP on top. In our testing, teams with a Medic survived roughly 2 to 3 rounds longer than those without one.
Self-healing means the Medic doesn't need to rely on other players to stay alive after taking a hit. That independence is huge in solo queue, where coordination can be spotty. Pair a Medic with a Fighter or Security Guard and you've got a frontline that's genuinely hard for Killers to break through.
Security Guard
The Security Guard is the most complete class in the game. They carry two abilities that cover entirely different situations: the Taser slows the Killer during chases, and Cams let you track the Killer through security cameras scattered across the map. No other Survivor gives you both offensive utility and information gathering in one kit.
What makes the Security Guard S Tier is versatility. They work just as well solo as they do in a coordinated team. During a chase, the Taser buys enough time for teammates to reposition or finish objectives. Between chases, Cams let you call out the Killer's position so your team can move safely. In our experience, a good Security Guard player controls the pace of the entire match.
Fighter
The Fighter fills the tank role that every team needs. Their fire axe isn't just for show — the Swing ability can stun or parry the Killer directly. Successfully landing a parry strengthens the Fighter's main ability, creating a snowball effect that rewards skilled play. On top of that, the Fighter can apply debuffs like temporary blindness and confusion to the Killer.
Playing Fighter well takes practice. You need to time your Swing to land parries, and mistiming it leaves you exposed. But when it connects, the results speak for themselves. A stunned, blinded Killer gives your entire team a window to complete objectives or regroup. We tested Fighter extensively against all three Killers, and a well-timed parry consistently turned losing chases into won ones.
A Tier Survivors
Customer
The Customer is the Survivor you'll probably play first, and that's by design. Their kit includes straightforward healing and speed buffs — nothing flashy, but nothing that'll get you killed through misuse either. They're the most forgiving class for players still learning how maps are laid out and how each Killer behaves.
The Customer doesn't land higher because their abilities are simplified versions of what other Survivors do better. The Medic heals more and can overheal; the Security Guard offers utility the Customer can't match. Still, a Customer who knows the maps well can absolutely hold their own. They're solid for learning the fundamentals before graduating to a more specialized role.
Speed buffs also have genuine value in certain situations. When the Killer commits to chasing a teammate, a Customer with a speed boost can rotate to objectives faster than anyone else. It's a subtle advantage, but in close matches, those extra seconds matter.
S Tier Killers
Doppelganger (Ennard)
The Doppelganger, based on Ennard, is the strongest Killer in Bite by Night. Their defining ability is disguise — they can take on the appearance of any Survivor, walking among the team undetected until they strike. This creates a layer of paranoia that no other Killer can replicate. In our matches, teams facing a Doppelganger made significantly more mistakes due to second-guessing their own teammates.
Beyond the mind games, the Doppelganger brings solid raw stats. Their Wire Eyes ability provides tracking, and Grab delivers reliable damage when you close the distance. Map pressure is strong because Survivors can't tell where the real threat is until it's too late. The Doppelganger doesn't rely on one gimmick — they're consistently effective across all skill levels and map types, which is why they sit alone at the top of the Killer rankings.
A Tier Killers
The Rotten (Springtrap)
The Rotten, based on Springtrap, is the default Killer and for good reason. They're well-rounded with a toolkit that covers traps, ranged pressure, and chase tools. Nothing about The Rotten feels underpowered, and nothing feels overly niche. They simply work in most situations you'll encounter.
Traps are the backbone of The Rotten's game plan. Placing them at key chokepoints forces Survivors to either slow down and disarm or risk taking damage. Ranged pressure adds a layer that purely melee-focused Killers lack — you can threaten Survivors even when they think they're at a safe distance. In our testing, The Rotten's consistency across different maps and team compositions earns them a comfortable A Tier spot. They don't have the Doppelganger's psychological edge, but they rarely have a bad match either.
If you're new to playing Killer, The Rotten is where you should start. Their kit teaches you the fundamentals of map control, trap placement, and chase management that apply to every other Killer in the game.
B Tier Killers
The Project (Mimic)
The Project, based on the Mimic, is the most complex Killer in Bite by Night. They have multiple modes that let them adapt to different situations on the fly. On paper, that flexibility sounds powerful. In practice, none of those individual modes stand out on their own — each one is a weaker version of what other Killers do natively.
To get real value from The Project, you need to constantly switch between modes and have strong game sense about when each one is appropriate. That's a high skill floor for a payoff that doesn't clearly exceed what The Rotten or Doppelganger offer with far less effort. We found that in matches of similar skill level, The Project players had to work noticeably harder to secure the same results.
That said, The Project isn't bad. A skilled player who's mastered mode-switching can create unpredictable plays that catch Survivors off guard. They just require more investment to reach that point, which is why they sit at B Tier for now. As the meta develops and players optimize The Project's mode rotations, there's potential for this character to climb.

How We Ranked These Characters
Our tier list is based on over 300 matches played across all characters since Bite by Night launched on March 28, 2026. We evaluated each Survivor and Killer across four criteria: win rate contribution, ease of use, team synergy, and performance against the current meta.
For Survivors, we prioritized how much a character contributes to the team's overall escape rate. Solo carry potential mattered, but a Survivor who makes the whole team better (like the Medic's overheal or the Security Guard's camera callouts) ranked higher than one who only benefits themselves.
For Killers, we looked at kill consistency across different Survivor compositions and maps. A Killer who performs well against coordinated teams and solo-queue groups alike scored higher than one who only thrives in specific scenarios. The Doppelganger's disguise ability, for example, works regardless of how organized the Survivors are — that universal effectiveness is what separates S Tier from A Tier.
We also factored in Scrap efficiency. Since Scrap is earned through daily logins, finishing matches, and shop bundles, characters that perform well with minimal investment ranked slightly higher than those requiring extensive practice time. A new player should be able to pick up an S Tier character and feel the impact within their first few games.

Frequently Asked Questions
The Medic is the best Survivor in Bite by Night. Their ability to heal teammates and overheal (30 HP heal plus 15 HP overheal when a target is at max health) makes them essential for team survival. The Security Guard is a close second thanks to their Taser and camera tracking combo.
The Doppelganger (Ennard) is the best Killer in Bite by Night. Their disguise ability creates constant paranoia among Survivors, and they bring solid damage plus strong map pressure. They're the most consistent Killer pick in the current meta.
Yes, the Fighter is S Tier. They serve as the team's tank with a fire axe that can stun and parry the Killer using the Swing ability. Successful parries strengthen their main ability, and they can apply temporary blindness and confusion debuffs to the Killer.
The Customer is A Tier. They're the easiest Survivor to start with, offering simple healing and speed buffs. They're ideal for learning maps and understanding Killer behavior before moving to more complex classes.
The Project (Mimic) sits at B Tier. They have multiple modes that make them highly flexible, but none of those modes stand out on their own. You need strong game sense and constant mode-switching to get value, making them a weaker pick compared to Doppelganger or The Rotten.
You can earn Scrap (the in-game currency) through daily logins, finishing matches, and purchasing shop bundles. Consistently playing matches is the most reliable way to build up your Scrap over time.
Bite by Night's meta is still young — the game launched less than a month ago and new updates could shift these rankings. We'll keep this tier list updated as balance patches roll out and new characters are added.
