Booga Booga Reborn drops you onto a prehistoric island with a rock in your hand and nothing else, and the first thing most new players do is get chased off a beach and lose everything. That's normal. This is a survival crafting game about gathering resources, climbing a gear ladder, and eventually Rebirthing for permanent power — and once the loop clicks, it's hard to put down.
The game is Gang O' Fries' revival of Soybeen's classic Booga Booga, and as of July 2026 it's holding around 2,300 concurrent players and 258 million total visits. This guide walks you through your first 30 minutes, the mechanics that actually keep you alive, the 10 mistakes that get beginners killed, and how the Rebirth-Mojo endgame works. You spawn with a Starter Rock and an empty bag holding about 50 slots. Don't wander yet. The single most important early action is to walk up to a tree and hit it with your rock to collect Wood, Logs, and Sticks. Wood is the foundation of everything you craft in the opening minutes.
As soon as you have a Log and a Stick, open your crafting menu and make a Wood Pickaxe (1 Log + 1 Stick). That pickaxe lets you mine Stone and Coal, which unlocks stone tools, torches, and your first real upgrades. Craft a Wood Axe too so wood gathering speeds up.
Here's the exact opening sequence to run:
| Step | What To Do | Why |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Hit trees with your rock | Gets Wood, Logs, and Sticks — your starting materials. |
| 2 | Craft a Wood Pickaxe (1 Log + 1 Stick) | Lets you mine Stone and Coal for the next tier. |
| 3 | Craft a bag early | Bags are kept when you die — carry space that survives. |
| 4 | Mine Stone and Coal | Unlocks stone tools and Torches for cave runs. |
| 5 | Build a raft, find an empty island | Sets up a base away from geared players who will kill you. |
Levels 1 to 15 come naturally just from gathering and breaking things. Two easy early spots for experience are Feather Island (feather bushes) and Sun Island (sun trees), which hand out solid XP for very little risk. Break objects, kill small mobs, and collect the glowing Essence orbs that drop — that's your leveling engine.
You start with 100 food, and it drains by about 1 point every 10 seconds — roughly 16 and a half minutes to empty. When food hits zero, you lose 1 HP per second until you eat. Keep something edible on you at all times. Cooked Meat is the easy default, restoring +35 food and healing you. Later, the Survivalist Mojo perk slows the drain to 1 point every 20 seconds, nearly doubling how long a meal lasts.
Death is the mechanic that punishes careless play hardest. When you die, your crafted items — armor and tools — are lost and drop a portion of the resources used to make them. What you keep is your Bags, Materials Bags, Bolts, and Arrows. You can sprint back to your death spot to recover the dropped items, but only if they haven't despawned or been looted by another player first.
Because of that, banking is a survival skill. Craft a Chest, hide it in a cave or at your tribe base, and stash anything valuable inside before you go fight or explore. Handing items to a trusted tribemate or a friended alt account works too. Never carry your entire net worth into a risky area.
To create a tribe, pick an unused color and press MAKE TRIBE. As chief you can invite members and send ally requests to other tribes. Allied tribes cannot damage each other's members, which makes early survival far easier — but note that allies still can't build on land claimed by another tribe's totem. Playing with even one or two other people massively speeds up your progression and gives you people to bank items with.
Your power in Booga Booga Reborn is basically your armor tier. Each material unlocks a better set with higher damage reduction. Here's the full ladder from weakest to strongest:
| Tier | Armor | Full-Set Damage Reduction |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Leaf | 6% |
| 2 | Hide | 12% |
| 3 | Iron | 24% |
| 4 | Steel | 30% |
| 5 | Adurite | 36% |
| 6 | Crystal | 42% |
| 7 | Magnetite | 48% |
| 8 | Emerald | 54% |
| 9 | Pink Diamond | 54% (adds a healing ability) |
| 10 | Void | High (Void Shards + Jelly + Magnetite) |
| 11 | God | 75% (top tier, Mojo-gated) |
You mine each tier's material with the previous tier's tools, so gear improves naturally as you dig deeper. For the weapons that pair with each armor tier, our Booga Booga Reborn best weapons ranking lays out the full damage ladder from Rock up to God Rock.
The endgame is Rebirth, which unlocks at max level 100 in the Mojo tab. Rebirthing resets you to level 1 and wipes everything except your Coins, Hats, and Mojo. In exchange, each rebirth grants 1 Mojo Point (2 with the Double Mojo gamepass) that you spend in the Mojo Shop on permanent upgrades — including the God Rock recipe and the Survivalist perk. Fully unlocking the Mojo Shop takes 31 rebirths normally, or 16 with Double Mojo.
The same errors show up over and over in new players. Fix these and you'll survive far longer than most of the beach.
Here's the exact plan I'd run for your first few sessions. It's boring on purpose — boring is what keeps your gear.
Punch trees for Wood, craft a Wood Pickaxe and Axe, then mine Stone and Coal. Make a Torch from Coal so you can see in caves. Get a bag crafted before anything else. You want to leave the starting area already carrying tools, not a bare rock.
Build a raft and sail to an unoccupied island. This is your base. Drop a Chest somewhere out of sight — a cave corner is ideal — and start banking spare materials in it. A hidden Chest is the single best insurance policy in the game.
Work up from Stone to Gold to Adurite, crafting the matching armor and tools as you go. Grab Gold from the Iceland gold nodes and Gold Mountain; step up to Adurite from the Adurite Cave once you can survive it. Each tier makes the next tier's resources safe to gather. Our Booga Booga Reborn guide covers the early economy in more depth if you want the full breakdown.
Level to 100 by breaking high-XP objects like the Ancient Tree (drops 100 essence orbs per full mine) once you're geared enough to reach it safely. Before you Rebirth, bank Coins and materials so you can immediately craft gear on the other side. Then spend your Mojo on the upgrades that matter most — the God Rock recipe and Survivalist are top priorities. For where each item sits in the overall progression, see our Booga Booga Reborn tier list.
Booga Booga Reborn is fully free to complete, and you can reach God tier without spending a single Robux. There are four gamepasses, so let's sort what's worth it from what isn't.
If you know you'll grind rebirths, Double Mojo is the one purchase with real long-term value — it gives 2 Mojo per rebirth instead of 1, cutting the grind to fully unlock the Mojo Shop from 31 rebirths down to 16. Faster Chest Open speeds Item Chest cooldowns from 0.5 seconds to 0.125 (four times faster), which is genuinely useful if you farm resources heavily.
Cosmetics Plus (extra faces and hair) and the Boulder (a Starter Rock reskin) are purely optional flavor — buy them only if you like the look. And don't buy anything at all until you've reached level 100 at least once and know you're sticking with the game. A gamepass can't save gear you forgot to bank. Booga Booga Reborn is an open-world survival and crafting game by Gang O' Fries, built on Soybeen's original Booga Booga, which was made free to use. You gather resources, craft tools and armor, form tribes, and fight other players. As of July 2026 it sits around 2,300 concurrent players and 258 million total visits. You can play it on the official Roblox game page.
Hit trees with your Starter Rock to collect Wood and Sticks, then craft a Wood Pickaxe from 1 Log and 1 Stick so you can mine Stone and Coal. Craft a bag early because bags are kept when you die. Then build a raft and find an unoccupied island to set up on.
You keep your Bags, Materials Bags, Bolts, and Arrows. You lose crafted items like armor and tools, which drop some of the resources used to make them. That's why you bank valuables in a hidden Chest or hand them to a trusted tribemate before doing anything risky, especially before you Rebirth.
Rebirth unlocks at max level 100 in the Mojo tab. Rebirthing resets you to level 1 and wipes everything except your Coins, Hats, and Mojo. Each rebirth grants 1 Mojo Point (2 with the Double Mojo gamepass), which you spend in the Mojo Shop on permanent upgrades like the God Rock recipe and the Survivalist perk. Fully unlocking the shop takes 31 rebirths, or 16 with Double Mojo.
No. The game is fully completable for free, and gear is decided by gathering, not spending. The only gamepass with real progression impact is Double Mojo, which doubles Mojo per rebirth and halves the grind to fully unlock the Mojo Shop. Faster Chest Open, Cosmetics Plus, and the Boulder are convenience or cosmetic extras.
