This guide gives you the real Egg Shop prices, damage numbers for all 21 capybaras, the best free capybara you can actually get today, and how the new Scrap economy works — so you spend your first hours on things that still exist.

How Capybaras VS Plants works: the hatch-and-fight loop

Capybaras VS Plants — by the Scarlett the Dog Group — is an idle tower-defense hybrid built on a simple loop: you buy an egg, place it in an empty plot slot, and it hatches a capybara that automatically fights the plant waves. Those plants generate Cash online and offline, which you spend on better eggs, a growing tree and totems. As of August 16, 2026 the game has 23,581,263 visits, 475,991 favorites and 17,340 players in-game at midday (about 98% positive) since launching September 30, 2025.

The whole game pushes one number up: Cash-per-second from your plot. Redeem the milestone codes before your first big grind — as of August 16, 2026 the live set gives 600,000 Cash, a Gilded Hatch Hammer, two totems and one robot-line plant. Every egg and what it costs

Eggs are your entire supply of fighters, and the Egg Shop is priced on a steep curve. All nine entries and their Cash prices, per the community wiki on August 16, 2026:

Line that up against your code Cash and the picture is blunt: 600,000 Cash buys the $250K Ghost Capybara Egg with change to spare, but the Golem Capybara Egg costs $1.5M — two and a half times everything the codes give you. That gap is why losing the free-Golem code stings, and why the Scrap route matters.

Three rules matter from the start. Every egg needs its own empty slot, so run hatches in parallel — several cheap eggs beats saving for one premium egg. Timers keep counting while you're logged out, so start long hatches before closing. And a standard Hatch Hammer costs $1,000 (or 8 Robux), while a Gilded Hatch Hammer isn't sold for Cash at all — one live code hands one out, making it the most valuable code reward for a new account.

Every capybara's real damage numbers

You don't need a tier list, because the wiki publishes damage-per-hit and cooldown for all 21 capybaras. Divide one by the other and you get sustained DPS — the only number that matters when picking who holds a plot slot. Verified August 16, 2026:

Two things jump out. First, rarity is not power — the Godly Robot Capybara does 6,500 DPS while the Secret Obsidian does 5,000, so paying up a tier does not buy you damage. Second, the Golem Capybara older guides push as the beginner's prize is a 1,500 DPS unit, beaten three times over by the Mythic Royal Mage. It was good advice only because it used to be free.

The best free capybara right now

The honest answer as of August 16, 2026: no active code gives you a capybara. The two that did — UPDATE3 (Golem Capybara Egg) and RELEASE (Ghost Capybara Egg) — both expired in the August rotations. Any guide still pointing you at them, including our own before today, is out of date.

The free unit to chase instead is the Robot Capybara MkII, a far better target than the Golem ever was. It hits for 78,000 damage on a 3-second cooldown — about 26,000 DPS, the highest of any capybara in the game — and critically it is not gated behind an egg roll. You buy it outright for 750 Scrap in the new Scrap Shop. No Robux, no code, no luck: just a currency you farm.

So the beginner plan that works today is:

• Redeem the three live codes for 600,000 Cash, a Gilded Hatch Hammer and two totems — see the codes page.
• Spend 250,000 on a Ghost Capybara Egg, the best tier your code Cash reaches, and use the Gilded Hammer on it. A stopgap, not your endgame.
• Plant robot-line plants and bank Scrap — the real engine, covered next.
• Save to 750 Scrap and buy the Robot Capybara MkII. Spend Scrap on nothing else until you own it.

The Scrap economy and the Dr Carrot event

The August 15, 2026 update added a second currency, Scrap, separate from Cash. The community wiki calls this content the Dr Carrot Event — a wiki label rather than an official developer name, so treat it as shorthand. Scrap accumulates automatically when you collect robot-themed items, and it is the only currency the Scrap Shop accepts. Rates per collection:

The Scrap Shop sells exactly three things: a Robot Seed Pack (40 Scrap, opens for a random robot plant), the Robot Capybara MkII (750 Scrap), and the Mega Scroll (1,000 Scrap), which grants the new Mega mutation at 2.1x. The Mega Scroll is otherwise a 10,000,000,000 Cash buy at a 7.5% stock chance, so Scrap is dramatically cheaper — but not before you own the MkII.

Use weather mutations to power up your plot

Weather isn't cosmetic — weather events mutate your capybaras, plants and un-hatched eggs, attaching a multiplier. The August 15 patch added the strongest yet, the Mega mutation at 2.1x, from the Mega Scroll. An empty slot can't be mutated, so keep your plot full when weather rolls in.

Fuse duplicate capybaras in the Fuse Machine

The Fuse Machine arrived in the previous patch — the one the Roblox description still advertises as "Added Fuse Machine, New Boss + Bug Fixes" — and survives the August 15 update. Feeding duplicate capybaras into it merges them into a single stronger unit. Three tips:

• Save duplicates instead of deleting them — they're the machine's raw material.
• Fuse before a boss attempt. The Dr Carbot bosses scale hard — MkI has 2,500,000 health, MkII has 10,000,000 and MkIII has 25,000,000 — so a starter roster simply cannot chew through them in time.
• Feed in a mutated unit to carry its multiplier into the result.

Grow your tree and stack totems for offline Cash

Growing your tree is a Cash sink that pays off, so pour surplus Cash into it once your fighting line is stable. Totems are timed buffs that despawn after a set duration — save them for a real push. The two free from current codes are the Totem of Stars (doubles mutation chance for 30 minutes; otherwise 10,000,000 Cash) and a second Divine totem that is either the Totem of Wealth (+25% money for 1 hour) or the Totem of Fortune (+50% luck for 1 hour). Sources genuinely disagree on which, and since both are reward-only items the shop never sells, we leave that open rather than guess. See the codes page for current wording.

Offline earning is the payoff: plants bank Cash while you're logged out and egg timers keep ticking. Before closing, fill every plot slot, start your longest hatches, and place your totems.
