How Capybaras VS Plants works: the hatch-and-fight loop
Capybaras VS Plants — by the Scarlett the Dog Group — is an idle tower-defense hybrid built on a simple loop: you buy an egg, place it in an empty plot slot, and it hatches a capybara that automatically fights the plant waves. Those plants generate Cash online and offline, which you spend on better eggs, a growing tree, totems and Fuse Machine upgrades. As of August 6, 2026 the game has crossed 7,327,513 visits with 204,355 favorites and 15,243 players in-game (a 25,510-to-572 like ratio, about 98% positive) since launching September 30, 2025.
The whole game pushes one number up: Cash-per-second from your plot. Stronger capybaras clear plant waves faster, faster clears bank more Cash, and more Cash buys higher-tier eggs that hatch stronger capybaras. Weather, fusing and tree growth all feed the same loop, so your job as a beginner is to keep the cycle spinning without stalling.
- Finish the short tutorial, which places your first capybara and shows you the plot.
- Open the Shop and buy the best egg you can afford, then drop it into an empty plot slot.
- Wait out the hatch timer (or speed it with a Hatch Hammer) and let the new capybara join the fight.
- Let your capybaras clear plant waves to bank Cash — this keeps running while you're offline.
- Reinvest that Cash into more eggs, tree upgrades and totems, and repeat.
Before your first big grind, redeem the game's milestone codes — the current set (headed by the new UPDATE3 code from the Fuse Machine update) hands out free Cash, a Gilded Hatch Hammer, totems and even a free Golem Capybara Egg. We don't reprint the table here to keep this guide focused; grab the current working list and exact redeem steps on our Capybaras VS Plants codes page, then come back and start hatching.
How to hatch eggs faster (and which to buy first)
Eggs are your entire supply of fighters, so how you hatch them decides how fast you grow. A few rules matter from the start:
- Every egg needs its own empty slot — you can't stack eggs, so unlock and fill plot slots to run several hatches in parallel.
- Rarity is rolled at hatch completion, not at purchase, so a cheap egg can still surprise you — but higher-tier eggs roll from a better pool.
- Timers keep counting while you're logged out, so start your longest hatches right before you close the game.
The fastest way to grow early is parallel hatches: running several cheap Cash eggs at once beats saving forever for one premium egg, because more capybaras start fighting sooner. Save premium and event eggs for when you have Hatch Hammers to skip their longer timers.
Speaking of which, Hatch Hammers are your time-saver. Standard Hatch Hammers shave seconds off a timer per swing; Gilded Hatch Hammers remove much larger chunks. As of the August rotation, the 5MVISITS code hands out a Gilded Hatch Hammer and UPDATE3 gives a free Golem Capybara Egg to hatch — full list on the codes page.
Best capybaras: Golem, Angel & fused units
Not every capybara is worth a slot. The developers haven't published raw DPS numbers, so the community ranks units by their value in the current update economy. Here's the tier picture as of August 6, 2026:
| Tier | Capybaras | How you get them |
|---|---|---|
| S | Angel Capybara, top fused units, rare weather-mutated variants | High-end eggs, Fuse Machine, mutations |
| A | Golem Capybara, Ghost Capybara, premium shop-egg capybaras, boss rewards | UPDATE3 code (Golem), newest expensive egg line, bosses |
| B | Mid-price shop eggs, lightly mutated units | Mid-tier shop eggs, weather events |
| C–F | Starter eggs, duplicate low-tier and tutorial hatchlings | Early shop, tutorial |
For a beginner, the single best free pickup is now the Golem Capybara: it hatches from the Golem Capybara Egg in the new UPDATE3 code, out-fights every early shop hatchling, and carries you until you can afford the newest premium egg line. (The Ghost Capybara filled this role before its RELEASE code expired in the August rotation — still a fine A-tier unit if you already own one.) Long term, the Angel Capybara is the top hatch players chase from high-end eggs and rare pools, and it sits alongside your best fused units at the top of S tier.
The one habit that beats everything: build around one strong DPS capybara rather than a plot of duplicate starters. Weak slots drag your total damage down, so retire tutorial hatchlings the moment a Golem, Ghost or premium unit is ready.
Use weather mutations to power up your plot
Weather isn't just cosmetic in Capybaras VS Plants — weather events roll across your plot and mutate your capybaras, plants and even un-hatched eggs. A mutation attaches an aura to a unit that can boost its plant-cash output or its attack cadence, so a plain B-tier capybara can suddenly punch well above its base tier once it's mutated.
Because mutations are what turn ordinary units into rare, high-value variants, you want to keep your plot full and your eggs sitting out when weather rolls in — an empty slot can't be mutated. Rare mutated capybaras are strong enough to earn S-tier consideration, and they're also prime candidates to feed into the Fuse Machine, since fusing a mutated unit carries its buff into the result.
Fuse duplicate capybaras in the Fuse Machine
The Fuse Machine was added in the game's current update ("Added Fuse Machine, New Boss + Bug Fixes") and it's the answer to the pile of duplicate capybaras you'll accumulate. Feeding duplicates into the machine merges their traits into a single stronger fused unit, and fusing often unlocks visuals you simply can't buy in the egg shop — the fused look is exclusive to the machine.
Practical fusing tips for beginners:
- Save your duplicates instead of deleting them — they're the raw material for fused units, which sit in S tier.
- Fuse before a boss attempt. A boss run rewards you for having at least one rare or fused DPS unit, so run a fusion session on your spare duplicates first.
- Feed in a mutated unit when you can to carry its weather aura into the fused result for extra output.
Beat the boss (Skull Flower and beyond)
Bosses are the game's skill check. The first major encounter is the Skull Flower, followed by a second boss ("Boss 2") added in the current update. Boss fights run in phases: an add swarm where the boss summons plant minions and you want multiple capybaras attacking for area damage, a burst window where the boss is briefly vulnerable and your main DPS should focus fire, and a soft enrage timer that ramps the boss's defense or spawn rate the longer the fight drags — which is exactly why fusion and rarity matter.
Before you attempt a boss, make sure you've got:
- At least three active fighting capybaras, with every battle slot filled — empty slots cut your total damage.
- One rare or fused unit minimum as your main DPS, ideally a fused or Angel capybara.
- Totem buffs redeemed from codes and any weather-mutated flex unit slotted in.
If a boss beats you, don't keep throwing the same roster at it — farm plant waves, fuse your duplicates, grab a weather-mutated DPS unit, and return stronger. Boss rewards are worth the wait: large Cash bundles, rare plant materials for tree upgrades, and fusion fodder.
Grow your tree and stack totems for offline Cash
Two systems quietly compound your income: the tree and your totems.
Growing your tree is a Cash sink that pays off — tree upgrades let you flex rare mutated plants and unlock late-game shop options, so pour surplus Cash into it once your fighting line is stable. Totems are passive buff items you collect that boost your economy in the background. As of August 6, 2026 the two current codes hand out a Totem of Stars (from 100KFAVS) and a Totem of Fortune (from 5MVISITS); the Totem of Wealth came from the now-expired UPDATE2, so grab it in-game instead. Stack them early so every hour of play and every offline session earns more.
That offline earning is the payoff of the whole loop: your plants bank Cash while you're logged out, and egg timers keep ticking. Before you close the game, fill every plot slot with fighters, start your longest egg hatches, and place your totems — then come back to finished hatches and a fat Cash balance ready to reinvest.

Frequently Asked Questions
As of August 6, 2026, the Angel Capybara is widely treated as the top-tier hatch, sitting above high-end fused units and rare weather-mutated variants. For new players, the best free unit is now the Golem Capybara Egg from the new UPDATE3 code — the previous free pick, the Ghost Capybara from RELEASE, is no longer redeemable after that code expired in the August rotation. Build around one strong DPS unit rather than a plot full of duplicate starters.
As of August 6, 2026 the free code unit is the Golem Capybara Egg from the new UPDATE3 code, which also grants 250K Cash. Open the Shop menu, scroll to the bottom to find the code box, enter UPDATE3 exactly, then place the Golem Capybara Egg in an empty plot slot to hatch it. The older RELEASE code that gave a Ghost Capybara Egg has expired, so UPDATE3 is now the way to grab a free unit. See our Capybaras VS Plants codes page for the full working list.
Yes. Your plants generate Cash both online and offline, and egg hatch timers keep counting down while you're logged out, so you bank progress away from the keyboard. Before you leave, fill every plot slot with fighting capybaras and start your longest egg timers so you return to finished hatches and a stack of Cash ready to reinvest.
