Drive Your Boat & Lower the Claw

The core loop is spelled out in the game description: drive your boat, lower your claw, catch fish, put fish in the aquarium, and let the fish generate money. When you spawn, steer out to a spot where fish are visible, position the boat over a cluster, then lower the claw crane straight down to grab whatever is underneath.

Because you are aiming a crane rather than reeling a line, positioning is everything. Line the boat up over the densest cluster and hold still — a stable boat means a cleaner grab than chasing single stragglers. Early on, keep to calm inshore water and learn the claw timing before you venture into rougher, higher-value zones.

Stock the Aquarium for Passive Income

Catching fish is only half the loop — the aquarium is your income engine. Each fish you place generates cash passively over time, whether you are actively grabbing or just cruising, and the more fish you stock (and the rarer they are) the higher your income climbs. Chase Rarer Fish & Unlock the Arctic

Fish in Claw Fishing are ranked by rarity, running from Common through Uncommon, Rare, Legendary and flagship "special" catches, with rarer fish paying out far more when they sit in your aquarium. Community trackers single out the Whale Shark as the marquee flagship target — the catch that demands maxed claw reach and grip to land. As a rule, the farther you get from the harbor, the better the tiers that spawn.

Zones matter too. You start in the Ocean, the beginner water right off the harbor, and a second Arctic (ice) world unlocks as you progress, with colder-water fish themes and longer, rougher routes — save your top-tier grabs for there once your boat and claw can handle the trip. Catch Mutated Fish for 5x–15x Income

On top of rarity, some fish spawn with a mutation that multiplies what they earn. There are three, and the multiplier stacks on the fish's base rate: Silver (5x), Gold (10x) and Rainbow (15x). A mutation raises both the fish's sale value and its per-second aquarium income, so a single Rainbow catch can out-earn a whole tank of plain Commons.

You get them by catching a mutated fish while it is swimming; they appear at random and cannot be crafted or forced. Rainbow is the rarest of the three and shows up in the farthest, roughest waters, which is another reason to bank claw reach, grip strength and boat speed before you head deep. The instant a mutated fish reaches your aquarium, slot it over your lowest-earning Common — the multiplier does nothing sitting in your inventory.

Survive the Tsunami Without Losing Your Catch

The one hazard the game warns you about directly is the TSUNAMI — the description literally says "BE AWARE OF THE TSUNAMI." Every so often a giant wave rolls in, and it is a timed survival moment: you need to react to the warning rather than keep grinding through it.

When the tsunami warning appears, do three things: keep an escape lane open toward open water or safer ground, stop lowering the claw, and finish or cancel any grab in progress. A half-lowered claw when the wave lands is how beginners lose both their spot and the fish they were about to bank. Treat the warning as a hard cue to reel in, reposition, and ride it out — then get straight back to grabbing once the water settles.

Buy the Right Upgrades First

Your cash goes into upgrades that make every future run more efficient. The upgrade lines players focus on are claw reach (how deep and wide you can grab), boat speed and control (getting between fishing spots faster), grip strength (holding bigger or heavier fish without dropping them), and aquarium slots (raising your income ceiling), alongside income multipliers.

For a beginner, the smart early order is aquarium slots and grip strength first, then claw reach, then boat speed. Slots raise how much you can earn at once and grip lets you keep the better fish you grab — both directly grow income. Gamepasses & Whether Codes Exist

The two gamepasses that actually change your progression, both added on June 10, 2026, are V.I.P for 49 Robux and 2x Cash for 249 Robux (prices confirmed as of August 4, 2026). The 2x Cash pass doubles the money your aquarium generates, which is the single biggest income multiplier available. On August 1, 2026 the developers added a wave of cosmetic and vehicle passes (Crane, Poseidon, Pirate Ship, Fire Truck, Phoenix and more), but those are appearance-only.
