Each soul grants unique abilities that can completely change how you fight, and picking the right one matters more than almost any other decision in the game. This tier list ranks every soul in Dragon Soul from S tier to C tier based on damage output, versatility, rarity, and how they perform in both PvP and PvE content as of April 2026.

S Tier — Best Souls in Dragon Soul

These are the souls every serious Dragon Soul player is chasing. They offer the highest stat multipliers, the best move kits, and dominant performance across all content types. Getting any of these takes significant time or luck, but they're worth every Dragon Ball hunt.

Destruction Soul

Rarity: Zenkai • Drop Rate: 0.01% (Shenron Wish)

Destruction Soul is the undisputed strongest soul in Dragon Soul right now. When activated, it grants a 180-second transformation that replaces your entire hotbar with four devastating moves. The stat boosts are staggering: +1000% Ki Power, +800% Strength, +900% Health, and +600% Ki Max. No other soul in the game comes close to these numbers.

The four replacement moves cover every combat scenario — ranged ki blasts, close-range melee combos, an AoE knockback, and a finisher that can one-shot most enemies in PvE. In PvP, a Destruction Soul user with a decent build can dominate fights that other soul users simply can't win.

The downside is obvious: a 0.01% drop rate from Shenron wishes makes this the hardest soul to obtain in the entire game. Most players will burn through dozens of wish cycles before seeing one. If you manage to pull it, you've essentially hit the jackpot.

Savior Soul

Rarity: Zenkai • Drop Rate: 0.99% (Shenron Wish)

Savior Soul is the second Zenkai-rarity soul and arguably more balanced than Destruction. It provides a 180-second transformation with three replacement moves, along with stat boosts of +850% Strength, +750% Ki Power, +700% Health, and +600% Ki Max. Those numbers are slightly lower than Destruction in Ki Power and Health, but Savior makes up for it with better speed scaling and stamina efficiency.

Where Savior really shines is in extended fights. Its three moves are designed for sustained pressure rather than burst damage, making it stronger than Destruction in drawn-out PvP matches where stamina management matters. The 0.99% drop rate also makes it roughly 99 times more obtainable than Destruction — still rare, but realistically achievable within a few weeks of dedicated Dragon Ball farming.

Life Soul

Life Soul rounds out S tier as the best Legendary-rarity soul in the game. It offers two activation modes: a Spirit Bomb-style ranged attack that deals massive AoE damage, or a shorter transformation that boosts your base stats by roughly +500% across the board. The flexibility between burst and sustained damage is what pushes Life Soul above every other Legendary option.

The Spirit Bomb variant hits for some of the highest single-hit damage in the game, making it the go-to choice for speed-running boss encounters. Against other players, the transformation mode is usually the smarter pick since it gives you consistent power over a longer window. At a ~2% drop rate, Life Soul is the most accessible S-tier soul by a wide margin.

A Tier — Excellent Souls

A-tier souls are strong enough to carry you through all content in Dragon Soul. They don't quite match the raw power of S tier, but they're significantly easier to obtain and still perform well in competitive play.

Exiled Soul

Exiled Soul projects a black hole at your target location that pulls in nearby enemies and deals continuous damage over several seconds. The range on this ability is exceptional — you can hit targets from across most arena maps without putting yourself at risk. Against grouped enemies in PvE, one Exiled activation can clear an entire wave.

The main limitation is its single-ability kit. Unlike Zenkai souls with 3-4 replacement moves, Exiled gives you one powerful tool and that's it. Skilled players can work around this by timing activations during cooldown windows, but it does cap your overall versatility. Still, the raw damage-per-activation rivals some S-tier souls.

Dual Soul

Rarity: Epic • Drop Rate: ~8% (Spin NPC / Shenron Wish)

Dual Soul is the bread-and-butter pick for a huge portion of the Dragon Soul community. It fires an energy blast that explodes on impact, dealing solid area damage with excellent range. What makes Dual special isn't its peak damage — it's the combination of usability, consistency, and accessibility.

At Epic rarity with an ~8% drop rate from the Spin NPC in Port Prospera (40 gold per spin), Dual is realistic to obtain within your first few days of playing. The energy blast travels fast, has a generous hitbox, and the explosion radius catches opponents who try to sidestep. For newer players looking to be competitive quickly, Dual is the answer.

Hope Soul

Rarity: Legendary • Drop Rate: ~2.5% (Shenron Wish)

Hope Soul grants a 200-second sword transformation that completely changes your combat style. The extended duration is the longest of any soul in the game, giving you a full 3+ minutes of enhanced melee combat with a unique sword moveset. When paired with high Strength and proper stat allocation, Hope Soul's damage output rivals Exiled and Dual in sustained scenarios.

The trade-off is that you're locked into melee range for the entire duration. Against players who rely on ki-based ranged attacks, closing the gap can be difficult. But once you're in range, the sword combos are fast, hard to escape, and deal consistent damage that adds up quickly. If you prefer aggressive, in-your-face combat, Hope is your soul.

B Tier — Good Souls

B-tier souls are perfectly viable for progressing through Dragon Soul's story content and holding your own in casual PvP. They're worth using until you can upgrade to an A or S-tier option.

Prideful Soul

Prideful Soul has one of the highest drop rates among combat-focused souls, making it one of the first real offensive options most players will unlock. Its damage is respectable at close range, with a melee-focused activation that hits hard in a tight radius. The limited range is the biggest weakness here — against players who keep their distance, Prideful struggles to connect.

For PvE grinding and early-game boss fights, Prideful gets the job done. It's a solid stepping stone while you farm for Legendary or Zenkai pulls.

Wizard Soul

Wizard Soul provides a brief damage absorption shield followed by a retaliatory burst. The concept is interesting — absorb incoming attacks, then release the stored energy as a counterattack. In practice, the absorption window is short enough that timing it consistently against skilled opponents is difficult. It performs better in PvE where enemy attack patterns are predictable.

Time Soul

Time Soul briefly slows enemies in a radius around you. The effect only lasts a few seconds, which limits its impact in longer engagements. When used correctly — timed right before a big combo or to interrupt an opponent's transformation — Time can swing a fight. Endurance Soul

Endurance Soul activates a Kaioken-style power boost that lasts 30 seconds. The stat increase is noticeable but modest compared to what Zenkai or Legendary souls provide. After 30 seconds, you're back to baseline with no lasting benefit. It's essentially a weaker, shorter version of what S-tier souls give you for 180 seconds.

Explosive Soul

Explosive Soul does what the name suggests — creates a single explosion around your character. The damage is underwhelming compared to Dual's energy blast, and the lack of range means you need to be point-blank for it to connect. It functions as a panic button at best.

Vampiric Soul adds a life-steal effect to your attacks for a limited duration. The concept sounds useful, but the healing amount is too low to meaningfully sustain you in tough fights. Solid Soul

These five Uncommon souls each provide a flat 25% boost to a single stat. That's it — no transformation, no special ability, no replacement moves. A 25% boost sounds relevant on paper, but when S-tier souls are offering +800% to +1000% multipliers, the gap is enormous. Use these only if you literally have nothing else equipped. They're the first souls most players pick up from Shattered Souls scattered around the map, and the first souls most players replace.
