Greedy Growers is a Roblox farming tycoon built on one nervy decision: buy a seed from the river, plant it, and watch the payout climb until you either harvest or lose the lot to lightning. This hub tracks the current update, the live numbers, and where our codes and beginner's guide pages stand.
What's the current Greedy Growers update?
The current drop is GEAR & WORMS, subtitled "Market Expansion!" — an in-experience event the developers scheduled from August 14, 2026 at 18:00 UTC to August 21 at 18:00 UTC, still active on August 20. Their listing names the contents: a Gear Shop and Worms Stands in the market area, plus new rebirths, an Index, new pet variants and mutation stacking on seed plants.
No version number was attached. Community coverage calls it Update 2.0 (Pro Game Guides August 13, Sportskeeda August 15), succeeding Update 1.2 from late July — a community label, not a developer one.
One thing trackers get wrong: the game's public updated timestamp moved to August 19, 2026 at 05:01 UTC, but the developer-side publish stamp on the group's own listing has not moved since August 17 at 02:48 UTC. A bumped timestamp is not a patch, and no notes, badges or events corroborate August 19.
What GEAR & WORMS changed, with numbers
Pets and eggs. 18 pets hatch from five eggs bought with Tickets at the Pets Shop next to the Farmer's Market: Common 100, Rare 200, Epic 500, Legendary 1,000, Mythic 2,000 Tickets. Three equip at once; extra slots cost Robux. That reprices the game's only code: ILOVECATS is exactly one Common Egg. The pet that matters most here is the Turtle (Mythic Egg) — a small chance to negate one lightning strike during a tree's growth. Pro Game Guides and Sportskeeda agree on every figure.
Mutations. The Greedy Growers Fandom wiki, hand-edited on August 17, 2026, lists ten: Dewy ×2, Shocked ×2.5, Dusty ×3, Frosted ×3, Infested ×3, Radioactive ×5, Charged ×7.5, Golden ×25, Scaled ×50, Cosmic ×100. Pro Game Guides listed six with identical multipliers on July 28, so Dusty, Frosted, Infested and Scaled arrived since — two of them tied to this update: Infested from the Infested Worm, Scaled from the Alligator pet.
The lightning rule is where the money is: a tree struck within 1.0× of harvest takes Shocked under 25×, Charged above. Tickets come from Farmer's Market NPC requests — up to 200 per set, refreshing every 24 hours, paying more for rare and mutated fruit — plus the new Index. Seeds are unchanged: 20+ across eight rarities, from the free Oak and Pine ($25) through Apple ($200) and Peach ($350) to the Divine Void Seed at $1.75 Qi, a 1-in-1,000 spawn.
What's next for Greedy Growers?
No roadmap, and we won't invent one. The one dated forward-looking fact is that the GEAR & WORMS window closes August 21 at 18:00 UTC. As of August 20 no follow-up is scheduled, it is the only event these developers have ever published, and the group shout is empty with the wall closed — there is no dated developer statement to quote. The event points players at "the community server"; that Discord (10,407 members, 1,635 online on August 20) is where the next update surfaces first.

The trend is down: peaks ran 45,566 on August 15 and 44,124 on the 18th, then fell to 38,918 on the 19th and 34,327 on the 20th — 22% off the August 18 peak. That is cooling after an event drop, not a collapse — but it is a decline, and two days ago we said the opposite.
Servers cap at 4 players, so the game runs as thousands of near-private farms, not crowded lobbies. It also sells no game passes at all — Roblox's game-pass API returns an empty list for universe 10440833423 — so any "Greedy Growers game passes" table is invented.
