Phantom Forces Tier List (March 2026) — Best Weapons Ranked

By Earnaldo Team • 9 min read • Phantom Forces Hub

Picking the right weapon in Phantom Forces can mean the difference between topping the scoreboard and getting stomped every round. With over 100 guns available and frequent balance patches from StyLiS Studios, it's tough to know what's actually worth using right now.

We spent the last two weeks testing every weapon on this list across ranked and casual lobbies. Our rankings factor in time-to-kill (TTK), recoil control, versatility across ranges, and how the gun performs after the March 2026 update. If you're also hunting for free credits and skins, check our Phantom Forces codes page.

S Tier — Best Weapons in Phantom Forces

These are the guns that consistently dominate lobbies. If you want to win gunfights more often than not, you should be running one of these four weapons. They outperform everything else in their respective categories, and most of them work well even without optimal attachments.

AUG A2 (Assault Rifle)

The AUG A2 is the single best all-around weapon in Phantom Forces right now. It fires at 750 RPM and lands a 3-shot body kill at close range, which gives it one of the fastest TTKs among assault rifles. But the real reason it sits at the top is the recoil — or rather, the near-total lack of it.

In our testing, the AUG A2 stayed on target at 150+ studs with barely any compensation needed. That means you can beam people at long range while maintaining the fire rate to win close-quarters fights. It's effective from the moment you pick it up, and it only gets better with a compensator and stubby grip.

You unlock the AUG A2 at rank 42, or you can buy it early with credits. Honestly, it's worth saving up for if you're still grinding ranks.

Pro tip: Run the AUG A2 with a compensator and stubby grip to nearly eliminate horizontal recoil. Pair it with a Coyote sight for the cleanest target picture.

Intervention (Sniper Rifle)

The Intervention has been a top-tier pick since Phantom Forces launched, and the March 2026 meta hasn't changed that. It delivers a 1-shot headshot at any range and has a 1-hit kill torso range that extends well past where most gunfights happen. The bullet velocity is among the highest of any sniper, so leading targets feels natural.

What separates the Intervention from other bolt-actions is its fire rate. For a bolt-action sniper, it cycles surprisingly fast. That matters more than raw damage in most situations because you get a second shot before your opponent can reposition. We tested it against the Remington 700 and BFG 50 in dozens of matches, and the Intervention came out on top every time in overall kill count.

This is a starter weapon — you get it at rank 0. New players should absolutely learn the game with it.

Vector (SMG/PDW)

The Vector is a close-range monster. It has the fastest TTK of any weapon in Phantom Forces when you're within about 50 studs. The fire rate is absurdly high, and the recoil is mostly just a slight vertical kick on the first few rounds that's easy to control once you're used to it.

The tradeoff is magazine size. You'll burn through ammo fast, and the 25-round default magazine means frequent reloads. But in our experience, the Vector kills so quickly that ammo management rarely becomes a problem — most enemies drop before you empty half the mag.

You unlock the Vector at rank 100. It's a late unlock, but it rewards aggressive players who push into buildings and hold tight angles. If you're more of a rusher, this is the gun for you.

Pro tip: Use the extended magazine attachment on the Vector if you find yourself running dry mid-fight. The slight ADS speed penalty is worth the extra rounds.

KS23M (Shotgun)

The KS23M breaks the rules of what a shotgun should be able to do. It can one-shot enemies at ranges where other shotguns deal scratch damage. In some situations, we found it outperforming snipers at close-to-mid range because of how consistent the one-shot kill is.

The KS23M fires slugs by default that hit like a truck. At close range, there's almost nothing that beats it in a straight 1v1. The only real weakness is the slow pump speed between shots — if you miss, you're in trouble. But if your aim is decent, this weapon will carry you through entire rounds without breaking a sweat.

You unlock it at rank 56. Many players overlook it because shotguns have a reputation for being inconsistent in Phantom Forces. The KS23M is the exception.

A Tier — Excellent Weapons

A tier weapons are extremely strong and can easily compete with S tier picks in the right hands. The main difference is that they require more skill, have a narrower effective range, or fall just short in one key area. You won't be at a disadvantage running any of these.

AK12 BR (Battle Rifle)

The AK12 BR is one of the most underrated guns in the game. It has almost zero recoil, which is remarkable for a battle rifle. Pair that with its 2-shot headshot capability, and you've got a weapon that can outgun assault rifles at medium range while still holding its own up close.

In our ranked matches, the AK12 BR consistently performed as a do-everything weapon. It doesn't have the raw TTK of the AUG A2, but its versatility and forgiving recoil pattern make it ideal for players who like to hold mid-range sightlines. You unlock it at rank 55.

M16A4 (Assault Rifle)

The M16A4 fires in bursts, and each burst can kill in 3 shots out to 55 studs. The recoil between bursts resets almost completely, giving you pinpoint accuracy at ranges where fully automatic rifles start to spread. It also has excellent aiming stability, so holding angles feels rock-solid.

The burst-fire mechanic means this gun rewards precise trigger discipline. If you can time your bursts, the M16A4 kills faster than most fully automatic alternatives. It's a rank 22 unlock, making it accessible to newer players who want a step up from starter weapons. HK416 (Assault Rifle)

The HK416 is already a solid assault rifle on its own, but it jumps to A tier when you equip the 300 Blackout ammo conversion. With that attachment, it becomes a 3-hit kill to the torso at 100 studs and a 2-hit kill on headshots. Those numbers rival battle rifles while keeping the handling of an AR.

Without 300 Blackout, the HK416 is a well-rounded but unremarkable performer. With it, the gun transforms into something much more lethal. You unlock the base weapon at rank 64, and the ammo conversion is available once you've accumulated enough kills with it.

AWS (Sniper Rifle)

The AWS is the best sniper for players who like to push aggressively. It fires faster than the Intervention and has a great torso kill range that lets you play up close without worrying about getting hitmarkers. It's basically a sniper built for quickscoping.

Where the AWS falls short is at extreme long range. The bullet drop is more noticeable than the Intervention's, and the 1-hit kill range to the torso is shorter. But if your playstyle involves flanking and catching enemies off guard at 80–120 studs, the AWS is perfect. Rank 39 unlock.

SCAR HAMR (LMG)

The SCAR HAMR is the LMG you pick when you want reliable damage without the sluggish handling that most light machine guns suffer from. It has solid damage output, manageable recoil for an LMG, and enough suppression capability to pin down entire teams in hallways.

We tested it across several Team Deathmatch and King of the Hill rounds, and the SCAR HAMR consistently pulled its weight in both offensive pushes and defensive holds. The 150-round box magazine means you rarely need to reload during an engagement. It unlocks at rank 73.

B Tier — Good Weapons

B tier weapons are solid performers that do their job well but don't stand out in the current meta. They're perfectly viable, especially if you enjoy their playstyle, but they won't give you the same edge as higher-tier picks.

AK17 (Carbine)

The AK17 has basically zero recoil. Seriously, it's one of the flattest-shooting guns we tested. Its stats are similar to the HK416, which makes it a solid all-around carbine for players who want easy-to-control automatic fire.

The reason it sits in B tier instead of higher is that carbines occupy an awkward middle ground in Phantom Forces. They don't quite match assault rifles at range, and they don't beat SMGs up close. The AK17 is the best version of that middle ground, but the middle ground itself isn't ideal. Rank 49 unlock.

Remington 700 (Sniper Rifle)

Think of the Remington 700 as the Intervention's little brother. It has a faster bolt cycle, which means you can take follow-up shots more quickly. The downside is a shorter 1-hit kill range to the torso, so you'll get more hitmarkers at extreme distances.

For medium-range sniping, the Remington 700 is actually quite good. If most of your sniper fights happen within 200 studs, you might not even notice the range difference. You unlock it at rank 9, making it one of the earliest snipers available.

Colt Mars (SMG)

The Colt Mars brings a 3-shot kill capability to the SMG class, which is unusual and powerful. It hits harder per bullet than most submachine guns and can outperform some assault rifles in straight-up damage trades within its effective range.

The Colt Mars surpasses the AK 107 in raw killing potential, but it doesn't quite reach Vector levels of close-range dominance. It's a strong pick for players who want SMG mobility with more punch per trigger pull. Rank 62 unlock.

SCAR-L (Assault Rifle)

The SCAR-L is the definition of reliable. It doesn't excel in any single area, but it doesn't have any glaring weaknesses either. The recoil is moderate, the damage is consistent, and the fire rate sits at a comfortable middle ground.

We recommend the SCAR-L for newer players who want a straightforward gun that works in every situation. It won't outperform specialized weapons in their niches, but it'll never leave you feeling completely outmatched. Rank 16 unlock — very accessible for beginners. C Tier — Average Weapons

C tier weapons have clear strengths on paper but significant drawbacks that hold them back in practice. They can work in specific situations, but you'll usually be better served by something higher on this list.

BFG 50 (Sniper Rifle)

The BFG 50 is the most powerful single-shot weapon in the game. One bullet will kill almost anything at almost any range. The problem is everything else about it — the fire rate is glacial, the mobility is terrible, and the sound is so loud that every player on the map knows exactly where you are.

After the shot, you're completely vulnerable during the long bolt cycle. Good players will rush your position before you can chamber a second round. In our testing, we consistently got more kills per match with the Intervention despite the BFG's higher per-shot damage. It's a rank 65 unlock, but most experienced players move away from it quickly. For more about the BFG 50's exact stats, the wiki has detailed breakdowns.

MP5K (SMG)

The MP5K is a decent entry-level SMG with respectable handling and a fast reload. It does what you'd expect from an SMG — it performs well in close quarters and struggles at range. The issue is that both the Vector and Colt Mars do the same job significantly better.

If you haven't unlocked those higher-tier SMGs yet, the MP5K is a fine placeholder. It's available at rank 6, so you'll have access to it almost immediately. Just don't expect it to compete with the weapons further up this list once you hit mid-to-high ranks.

M60 (LMG)

The M60 has the largest ammo pool in the game at 100 rounds per belt, and it can suppress entire corridors by sheer volume of fire. The problem is that everything about it feels slow — the ADS time, the movement speed, the reload animation. You're a walking target while you're using it.

In our matches, the M60 worked best when mounted on a window or doorway and used purely defensively. The moment you need to move or react to a flank, the sluggish handling becomes a real liability. The SCAR HAMR does the LMG job better in almost every way. The M60 unlocks at rank 0, so it's tempting for new players, but we'd suggest moving past it once you hit rank 20 or so.

How We Ranked These Weapons

We tested each weapon across a minimum of 15 matches in both Team Deathmatch and King of the Hill modes during the last two weeks of March 2026. Every gun was run with its most commonly recommended attachment setup as well as with default attachments to measure baseline performance.

Our ranking criteria focused on four factors, weighted in this order:

Time-to-kill (TTK) was the primary metric. We measured how quickly each weapon could down an enemy at close range (under 50 studs), medium range (50–120 studs), and long range (120+ studs). Weapons that performed well across all three ranges scored higher.

Recoil control mattered because a weapon's theoretical TTK means nothing if you can't stay on target. We tracked how much mouse correction was needed to maintain center-mass aim during sustained fire at a wall target at 100 studs.

Versatility measured how well each weapon adapted to different maps and modes. A gun that's dominant on one map but useless on three others scored lower than a gun that's consistently good everywhere.

Accessibility was a minor factor. Weapons with extremely late unlocks (rank 80+) got a slight downward nudge because fewer players can access them. This only affected borderline cases — the Vector still earned S tier despite its rank 100 requirement because its performance is that far ahead of the competition.

We also reviewed community data from the Phantom Forces Wiki to cross-reference damage models and confirm our in-game observations were consistent with the March 2026 weapon stats.

FAQ

What is the best weapon in Phantom Forces in March 2026?

The AUG A2 is the best overall weapon as of March 2026. It fires at 750 RPM, kills in 3 body shots, and has extremely low recoil that makes it effective at all ranges. It's the most consistent performer we tested across every map and mode.

Is the BFG 50 still good in Phantom Forces?

The BFG 50 has the highest single-shot damage in the game, but its extremely slow fire rate, poor mobility, and loud report make it a C tier weapon overall. The Intervention and AWS are much stronger sniping options because they let you take follow-up shots and reposition faster.

What is the best sniper in Phantom Forces 2026?

The Intervention is the best sniper for most players. It combines high bullet velocity, a 1-shot headshot at any range, excellent torso kill range, and a fast bolt cycle for a bolt-action. The AWS is a close second if you prefer a more aggressive, close-range sniping style.

What is the fastest killing weapon in Phantom Forces?

The Vector has the fastest time-to-kill in close-range fights. Its extremely high rate of fire means enemies go down before they can react. At distances beyond 50–60 studs, the AUG A2 takes over as the faster killer due to its superior range and accuracy.

Is the KS23M overpowered in Phantom Forces?

The KS23M is the strongest shotgun in Phantom Forces and can one-shot enemies at ranges other shotguns can't touch. Whether it's "overpowered" depends on the map — on tight indoor maps like Mall, it feels nearly unbeatable. On open maps like Desert Storm, its effectiveness drops off. It earned S tier because of how dominant it is in the majority of situations.

How often does the Phantom Forces tier list change?

The tier list shifts whenever StyLiS Studios releases a balance patch, adds new weapons, or changes attachment stats. Major shakeups happen roughly every 2–3 months. We update this list monthly to keep up with the current meta. Check back at the start of April 2026 for our next revision.
