Updated July 23, 2026 — Military UPD (July 17 patch)
Southern Mudding OffRoading hands you a whole garage of pickups, mud rigs, muscle cars and military hardware, and picking the wrong one for the terrain is how you end up winched out of a pit. This tier list ranks the game's vehicle types and gamepass packs by what actually matters here: deep-mud traction, top speed, and hauling. We judged each pick on real in-game roles, not made-up stat sheets.
The game, run by the Southern Mudding group, has held around 13,600 concurrent players as of July 23, 2026, with a 24-hour peak near 17,635 on the live Roblox page and roughly 298 million total visits. Updates drop every Friday, and the current build carries the "Military UPD" tag from the July 17 patch. Everything below is drawn from in-game vehicle roles and public sources like Rolimon's — if you want the full driving routine and free-truck setup, our Southern Mudding OffRoading guide walks it step by step.
S-tier vehicles clear the deepest pits and still get real work done. If you care about winning mud runs and reaching trail heads nobody else can, these are what you drive. Two of them cost Robux, but the third is free.
The Deluxe Mudder Pack grants three lifted mega mudding trucks, and they're the clearest deep-mud specialists in the game. The lift kit and oversized mud-terrain tires give them the ground clearance to keep their diff out of the sludge while the tread claws forward. Where a stock pickup starts spinning, these keep crawling.
The pack runs around 320 Robux as of July 23, 2026, which is fair for three purpose-built rigs. Pair them with mud tires rather than all-terrains and you'll notice the grip difference immediately in the pits. They're slower on pavement, but nobody buys a mudder to win a drag race — you buy it to finish the bog everyone else got stuck in.
The Military Vehicle arrived in the April 17, 2026 update, and the July 17 patch expanded the line with the Vintage Military 4x4. These are built like tanks: high ground clearance, aggressive tires, and enough torque to power through the deepest mud pits without a running start. The clearance alone puts them a class above most road vehicles off-road.
What holds the military rigs just under the dedicated mudders is versatility versus specialization. They dominate rough terrain and shrug off obstacles, but they're heavier and less nimble than a tuned mudding truck on a tight forest trail. If you like the look and want one vehicle for both rough trails and roleplay convoys, the 4x4 is a genuine S-tier pick.
The humble pickup truck is the backbone of Southern Mudding and the best all-rounder on this list. It strikes the strongest balance of power, ground clearance and versatility — it handles mud pits reasonably, tows trailers, and takes lift kits and custom paint. The April 17 update even added a brand-new pickup to the roster.
Here's the part that earns it S tier: it's free. Join the Southern Mudding Roblox group and you get a pickup at no cost, which makes it the highest-value vehicle in the game for a new player. Throw mud tires on it and it'll follow the Deluxe Mudder rigs through most pits. Start here before you spend a single Robux.
A-tier vehicles are excellent at one job and merely okay at the rest. They won't carry every situation like the S tier, but in their lane they're the best in the game. Match them to the terrain and they shine.
The Race Car Pack unlocks three premium race cars and they're the fastest things in the game on hard ground. On paved roads and the sand dunes added in the April 2026 update, nothing keeps up with them. The pack costs around 375 Robux as of July 23, 2026.
They drop out of S tier for one obvious reason: mud eats them alive. Low clearance and slick race tires mean the first deep pit ends the run. Treat these as dune runners and road machines, keep them out of the bog, and they're an easy A. For pure top-end speed comparisons, our Southern Mudding vs Driving Empire breakdown is worth a read.
The Deluxe Car Pack hands you four iconic American performance cars — the loud, fast muscle that's perfect for cruising between trail heads and showing off a custom paint job. On roads they're quick, second only to the dedicated race cars, and they carry a lot of roleplay appeal.
Like every low-slung car here, they're not built for deep mud, so their score is capped by terrain. If your sessions are mostly convoys, car meets and pavement cruising rather than pits, the muscle pack punches above its price. Just don't follow a mudder into the sludge and expect to come out the other side.
The Military ATV, added in the July 17 patch, is the nimble scout of the military line. It's small, quick to place, and light enough to skip across surfaces that swallow heavier trucks, which makes it great for scouting trails or darting around a map full of stuck rigs. Agility is its whole pitch.
The trade-off is obvious: no towing, no cargo, and it can get bounced around on rough terrain where a heavier 4x4 stays planted. As a fun, fast utility runabout it earns a solid A, but it's a complement to your main rig rather than a replacement for one.
B-tier vehicles have a clear purpose, but that purpose only comes up some of the time. Keep one around for the right moment and skip it the rest of the session. None of these are bad — they're just narrow.
Semi trucks are the game's serious haulers, and threading a full-length rig through tight forest trails is one of the most satisfying challenges Southern Mudding offers. When you want to move heavy cargo or run a proper convoy, nothing else has the presence or the pulling role a semi does.
They land in B tier because they're demanding and specialized. Backing a trailer without jackknifing takes real throttle control and practice, and a semi is helpless in the deep mud that the S-tier rigs live for. Great for hauling missions, wrong tool for a bog.
The Classic Car Pack includes four iconic American classic vehicles, and it runs around 290 Robux as of July 23, 2026. These are cruisers and roleplay props first — something fast and good-looking to drive between trail heads, park at a meet, or film with.
They sit at B because their role is purely cosmetic and social. Classics aren't built for deep mud and don't tow like a pickup, so their value depends entirely on whether you're into the roleplay side of the game. If you are, they're charming; if you're chasing pits, skip them.
The Police Vehicle Pack adds two police vehicles for around 290 Robux as of July 23, 2026. They're a roleplay staple — pursuit scenes, patrols, traffic-stop skits — and on the road they drive like the game's other performance cars, so they're perfectly capable where the pavement holds.
Outside of roleplay servers, though, they don't do anything a muscle car or pickup can't. No special mud ability, no hauling edge. If cops-and-robbers is your scene they're worth it; otherwise this pack is easy to pass on.
C-tier picks aren't vehicles you drive for performance at all — they're support gear and novelties. Understand what they do so you don't overspend chasing them when a free pickup covers your real needs.
Trailers and toy haulers let you load up smaller vehicles or equipment and move them across the map, and the Deluxe Trailer Pack adds the Boat Trailer and Double Jet Ski Trailer for water-side hauling. They're genuinely useful for logistics and setting up a scene, and the Portable Trailer Spawner gamepass (around 325 Robux as of July 23, 2026) lets you spawn one anywhere.
They're C tier only because they're not vehicles you drive for their own sake — a trailer is nothing without a truck to pull it. Buy them if you run hauling missions or roleplay convoys often. If you just want to mud, they add nothing to your traction.
The Military Fuel Truck, another July 17 addition, is a themed support vehicle that rounds out a military convoy. It looks the part and adds flavor to roleplay scenes, but it's a heavy, slow specialist with no mudding or racing edge.
Unless you're building a full military roleplay setup, there's little reason to reach for it over a Vintage Military 4x4 that does the rough-terrain job far better. It's a novelty pick — fun to own, rarely the smart choice for actual driving.

Southern Mudding isn't a combat or racing-only game, so there's no single stat that decides everything. What matters is whether a vehicle does its job on the terrain you actually drive. We ranked each pick on three things: deep-mud traction, top speed on hard ground, and hauling or towing utility — then weighted mud the heaviest, because that's the game's namesake and its hardest challenge.
That weighting is why lifted mudders and the military 4x4 top the chart while fast, low cars sit a tier down. Ground clearance and tire choice decide who finishes a pit, and the community consensus across YouTube build guides and TikTok "fastest truck" clips lines up with that: pickups and lifted rigs for the pits, race and muscle cars for the pavement and dunes. We also factored value, which is how a free group pickup earned a spot next to paid packs.
Because Southern Mudding ships updates every Friday, the roster keeps growing — the developers may rebalance handling, add vehicles, or adjust gamepass prices in a future patch, and we'll revisit these placements when that happens. For deep mud, the lifted trucks from the Deluxe Mudder Pack and the Military Vehicle added in the April 17, 2026 update are the strongest picks. Both carry high ground clearance and aggressive tires that power through the deepest pits where lower vehicles bog down. If you want one vehicle that does everything, a standard pickup truck is the best all-rounder because it balances power, clearance and towing, and you get one free just for joining the Southern Mudding group.
Joining the Southern Mudding Roblox group grants a free pickup truck, and you spawn vehicles from the in-game menu. Premium options come from Robux gamepasses such as the Deluxe Mudder Pack (three lifted mudding trucks, around 320 Robux as of July 23, 2026), the Race Car Pack (three race cars, around 375 Robux) and the Classic Car Pack (four classics, around 290 Robux). The Spawn 4 Vehicles pass, around 490 Robux, raises your active spawn limit from 2 to 4.
The premium race cars in the Race Car Pack and the American muscle cars in the Deluxe Car Pack are the fastest vehicles on paved roads and the sand dunes added in the April 2026 update. They lose most of that speed in deep mud, though, where their low clearance and road tires dig in. Treat them as cruisers and dune runners, not mud rigs.
