World Zero Tier List (2026) — Best Classes Ranked
World Zero has 19 playable classes as of May 2026, spanning five tiers plus three Mastery evolutions. Picking the right class matters more than gear in this game — a well-built Stormcaller will outperform a poorly chosen Tier V class with better equipment every time. This tier list ranks every class based on DPS output, survivability, AoE potential, and endgame viability.
We've tested each class through Infinite Tower, Guild Season content, and late-game dungeon runs to build these rankings. Whether you're a new player choosing your first upgrade path or a Prestige veteran deciding which Mastery to grind next, this breakdown will save you from wasting time on the wrong class.

S Tier — Best Classes in World Zero
These three classes sit at the top of the meta as of May 2026. Each one dominates in at least two major areas — DPS, survivability, or AoE clearing — and all three are viable for the hardest content in the game. If you can unlock any of them, do it.
Stormcaller (Mastery)
Stormcaller is World Zero's first hybrid class, and it earned the top spot on this list for good reason. Every attack applies a Supercharge debuff for 5 seconds. When enemies die while carrying that debuff, they spawn Shock Bombs that deal AoE damage to everything nearby. In crowded rooms, this creates chain reactions that clear waves faster than any other class in the game.
The real power comes from the Thunder God ultimate, which transforms you into a supercharged Dual Wielder for 20 seconds. During this window, your damage output spikes dramatically. Stormcaller also holds the highest base health among all ranged classes, which gives you a survivability edge that other casters simply don't have.
Unlocking Stormcaller requires completing 400 Infinite Tower floors as Elementalist. That's a significant grind, but the payoff is the strongest class in the current meta. You can also purchase it for 1,399 Robux if you'd rather skip the grind.
Necromancer (Mastery)
Necromancer is a scythe-wielding Mastery class that delivers very high DPS with excellent AoE coverage and decent survivability on top. It sits alongside Stormcaller as one of the two best classes in World Zero right now. The combination of raw damage and area clearing makes it effective in virtually every game mode.
What sets Necromancer apart mechanically is its unique 50% longer dash distance. That extra mobility lets you reposition faster than any other class, dodge boss mechanics more reliably, and close gaps on ranged enemies without burning cooldowns. In Infinite Tower runs where positioning determines whether you live or die, that dash advantage is worth more than raw stats suggest.
Mage of Shadows (Mastery)
Mage of Shadows is the Mastery evolution of Mage of Light, and it's widely considered the best grinding class in the game — especially for Guild Season content. If your goal is farming efficiency, this is the class to build toward. Players who've completed the Mastery quest consistently describe it as "100% worth the hard work."
The class excels at sustained AoE damage with minimal downtime between pulls. For players focused on Guild Season leaderboards or material farming, Mage of Shadows clears content faster per hour than either Stormcaller or Necromancer in most farming scenarios. Its weakness is single-target boss DPS, which keeps it slightly behind the other two S-tier picks in raw power rankings.
A Tier — Excellent Classes
A-tier classes are genuinely strong picks that can handle endgame content effectively. They fall short of S tier in overall versatility or raw output, but any of these three will serve you well through the hardest dungeons and Infinite Tower pushes.
Dragoon (Tier IV)
Dragoon is a spear-wielding class with the highest HP multiplier in the game at x1.25. That extra health pool makes it noticeably tankier than other DPS classes without sacrificing meaningful damage. Dragoon also has abilities that let you ignore enemy aggro entirely, which is invaluable during boss fights where add management matters.
You unlock Dragoon at level 60, making it a strong mid-game through late-game option. It doesn't quite match the damage ceiling of the Mastery classes, but it's available much earlier and requires no Robux investment. For players who haven't reached Prestige yet, Dragoon is arguably the best class available to them.
Shadowblade (Tier V)
Shadowblade is a burst-damage specialist built around its Shadow Mode. When activated, you become invisible and every attack becomes a critical hit with 20% bonus damage and 60% increased move speed. The Realm of Shadows ultimate fears all nearby enemies, giving you free damage windows on groups.
The class costs 1,400 Robux or unlocks at Prestige 4. Pair it with Glass perk armor for maximum damage output — the Glass perk's damage bonus stacks with Shadow Mode's crit multiplier to create some of the highest burst numbers in World Zero. The trade-off is lower base survivability, which makes positioning and timing critical.
Warlord (Tier V)
Warlord unlocks at Prestige 1 or can be purchased for 1,200 Robux. It's the earliest Tier V class most players will access, and it has enough power to trivialize early and mid-game content completely. Even in late-game scenarios, Warlord holds its own as a reliable all-rounder.
The class doesn't specialize in any single area the way Shadowblade does with burst damage or Dragoon does with tankiness. Instead, it provides a balanced toolkit that works in every situation without excelling in any. That consistency is what earns it A tier — you'll never feel weak, but you'll also rarely be the strongest player in a party.
B Tier — Good Classes
B-tier classes are solid picks that perform well in their intended roles. They're outclassed by the options above, but they're far from dead weight. Several of these serve as excellent bridge classes while you work toward Mastery or Tier V unlocks.
Berserker (Tier III)
Berserker was once a top-tier damage dealer, but nerfs have brought it down to B tier. It still puts out good DPS numbers, and when paired with a heal pet (the squid pet specifically), it becomes nearly unkillable. That combination of self-sustain and damage makes it a comfortable class to play through mid-game content.
The problem is that both Dragoon and Demon now outperform Berserker in the areas it used to dominate. If you're at level 35 and choosing between Berserker and saving for a Tier IV class, Berserker is still a good option for the levels between 35 and 60. Just don't expect it to carry you through endgame.
Demon (Tier IV)
Demon is a Tier IV class that delivers good DPS with a kit focused on aggressive play. Post-Berserker-nerf, Demon has emerged as the better pure damage option at comparable power levels. It unlocks at level 60 alongside Dragoon, giving players a meaningful choice between tankiness and raw output.
Demon falls short of A tier because it lacks the survivability tools that Dragoon brings and doesn't hit the damage ceiling that Tier V or Mastery classes reach. It's a solid stepping stone, not a final destination.
Spirit Archer (Tier IV)
Spirit Archer is a ranged damage dealer that many experienced players recommend as a bridge class until late game. It unlocks at level 60 and provides consistent ranged DPS that keeps you safe from melee-range boss mechanics. The class is straightforward to play and doesn't require complex ability rotations to get value from.
Think of Spirit Archer as the "safe pick" at Tier IV. It won't top any damage charts, but it also won't get you killed by putting you in bad positions. For players who prefer ranged playstyles, it holds up until you can access Stormcaller or Mage of Shadows.
Starbreaker (Mastery — Newest, Jan 2026)
Starbreaker is the newest Mastery class, added in January 2026 as the Guardian's Mastery evolution. Despite being a Mastery-tier class, it lands in B tier because its kit is more specialized than the other Mastery options. Unlocking it requires defeating 7,500 level 100+ mobs with Aggro Draw active, or you can purchase it for 1,399 Robux.
Starbreaker shines in specific team compositions where a tanky frontliner is needed. In solo play and general grinding, the S-tier Mastery classes simply outperform it. It's not a bad class by any means — it's just competing against three of the strongest classes in the game within its own rarity tier.
C Tier — Average Classes
C-tier classes fill important roles in the early and mid-game but fall behind as you progress. They're functional, not optimal. If you're currently using one of these, start planning your upgrade path.
Guardian (Tier II)
Guardian is the dedicated tank class that unlocks at level 15. It's the best early-game option for players who want to survive without worrying about perfect play. The shield-based kit absorbs hits that would flatten squishier classes, and it provides enough aggro control to protect teammates in early dungeon runs.
Guardian's main value in 2026 is as the foundation for the Starbreaker Mastery path. If you plan to pursue that Mastery, you'll need Guardian experience anyway. Otherwise, transition to a higher-tier class as soon as possible — Guardian's damage output drops off hard past level 35.
Paladin (Tier III)
Paladin is a support and tank hybrid that tries to do both jobs and ends up mediocre at each. It unlocks at level 35 and provides some healing utility alongside decent tankiness. In a coordinated party, Paladin can fill a niche role, but solo players will find its damage output frustrating compared to Berserker or Mage of Light at the same tier.
Mage of Light (Tier III)
Mage of Light took a significant hit from recent nerfs. Its heal was reduced, and the ultimate no longer cures debuffs — two changes that gutted its support identity. The class still has decent AoE damage, but its low DPS ceiling puts it behind other Tier III options for most content.
The silver lining is that Mage of Light is the prerequisite for Mage of Shadows, one of the three S-tier classes. If you're willing to push through its weaknesses to reach level 100 and complete the Mastery quest, the payoff is one of the best grinding classes in the game.
Summoner (Tier V)
Summoner is a staff-wielding class with the lowest HP multiplier in the game at x0.70. That means you're working with 30% less health than a standard class, which creates a fragility problem that's hard to overcome in endgame content. It requires Prestige 2 or 1,200 Robux to unlock.
The pet-based damage model is fun conceptually, but it doesn't compete with the direct damage output of Shadowblade or the survivability of Warlord at the same tier. Summoner is a niche pick for players who enjoy the summoner fantasy more than they care about optimization.
D Tier — Starter Classes
D-tier classes are the starting options and early upgrades that every player will use and then leave behind. They serve their purpose in the first 15 to 35 levels, but none of them remain competitive past mid-game. Don't invest significant resources into these — you'll replace them.
Swordmaster (Tier I) is the default melee class. Arcane Mage (Tier I) is the default ranged option. Defender (Tier I) is the default tank. All three have a basic attack plus 3 skills, and all three get outclassed the moment you hit level 15. Dual Wielder (Tier II) and Elementalist (Tier II) unlock at level 15 alongside Guardian. Elementalist has long-term value as the foundation for the Stormcaller Mastery path, so it's worth noting even though the class itself is D tier.

How We Ranked These Classes
This tier list is based on four weighted criteria: DPS output (30%), survivability (25%), AoE potential (25%), and endgame viability (20%). We tested each class across Infinite Tower runs, Guild Season farming, dungeon clears, and boss encounters to get a complete picture of performance across all content types.
We prioritized practical performance over theoretical maximums. A class that deals 5% more damage on a training dummy but dies twice as often in real content doesn't deserve a higher ranking. Similarly, classes that require extremely specific setups (like Shadowblade with Glass armor) are ranked based on their typical performance, with optimal builds noted where relevant.
Mastery classes are evaluated at their full potential, not during the grind to unlock them. The unlock difficulty is listed in the summary table but doesn't affect the tier placement itself. A class is either strong at max level or it isn't — how long it takes to get there is a separate consideration.
We'll update this list as new balance patches, classes, or meta shifts occur. The World Zero developers have been actively tuning class balance throughout 2026, so check back regularly. You can also visit the World Zero Wiki for detailed stat breakdowns on individual abilities.

Frequently Asked Questions
Stormcaller and Necromancer are the two best classes as of May 2026. Stormcaller is the first hybrid class with the highest base health among ranged classes, and its Thunder God ultimate turns you into a Dual Wielder for 20 seconds. Necromancer delivers very high DPS with excellent AoE and a unique 50% longer dash distance.
Mastery classes require reaching level 100 and completing special unlock quests. Stormcaller requires completing 400 Infinite Tower floors as Elementalist. Starbreaker requires defeating 7,500 level 100+ mobs with Aggro Draw. Alternatively, any Mastery class can be purchased for 1,399 Robux.
Shadowblade is a strong A-tier class that costs 1,400 Robux or unlocks at Prestige 4. Its Shadow Mode grants invisibility with all attacks becoming critical hits, dealing 20% bonus damage with 60% increased move speed. Pair it with Glass perk armor for maximum burst damage. Whether it's worth the Robux depends on how quickly you want access versus grinding to Prestige 4.
New players start with Swordmaster, Arcane Mage, or Defender at Tier I. Guardian is the best early upgrade at level 15 because its tank kit keeps you alive while learning. From there, Berserker or Mage of Light at level 35 are solid choices. The real power spike comes at level 60 with Dragoon or Spirit Archer.
Tier II classes unlock at level 15, Tier III at level 35, and Tier IV at level 60. Tier V classes require Prestige 1, 2, or 4 depending on the class, or they can be purchased with Robux ranging from 1,200 to 1,400. Mastery classes require level 100 plus special quests or 1,399 Robux.
Mage of Light dropped to C tier after its heal was nerfed and its ultimate no longer cures debuffs. It still has decent AoE damage, but its low DPS output makes it weaker than most alternatives. The good news is that its Mastery evolution, Mage of Shadows, is an S-tier class and one of the best grinding classes in the game.
