Adopt Me Free Robux Guide (2026) — Tips, Trading & Strategies
Last checked: September 12, 2026
Re-checked against the Roblox API, the official Adopt Me! Wiki and Uplift's patch notes on September 12, 2026: the September 11 Star Rewards revamp (Stars are now a currency, and the Golden Egg has left the game), real Bucks payouts, passive Pet Pen rates, the five passes actually on sale, and the Trading Hub.
Table of Contents
1. Adopt Me in numbers
Adopt Me! is a pet adoption and roleplay game by Uplift Games, live since July 14, 2017; its 9th Birthday Party ran in-game on August 7, 2026. Stats from the Roblox games API:
| Stat | Value (as of September 12, 2026) |
|---|---|
| Concurrent players (7-day median) | ~144,000 (daily medians 117,000–200,000) |
| Total visits | 44.70 billion |
| Favourites | 29.58 million |
| Players per server | 35 |
| Last game update | September 11, 2026 (Star Rewards Revamp) |
| Game passes on sale | 5 of 23 (295–1,060 R$) |
One correction up front: the Baby-or-Parent choice screen is gone. You spawn as a Parent and switch with the Age-O-Matic in the Nursery — and it is being the Baby with a pet equipped that doubles earnings, not the Baby role alone. Play it here, or start with our beginner guide.
2. Earning Bucks — the real payout numbers
Bucks come mainly from fulfilling a pet's or baby's needs — the icons at the top of your screen. Each has a fixed payout:
| Need | Bucks | Where to complete it |
|---|---|---|
| Sleepy | 10 | Pet bed or crib |
| Hungry / Thirsty / Catch | 12 each | Food, drink or a throw toy |
| Dirty | 15 | Shower or bathtub in your house |
| Camping / Sick | 16 each | Campsite / Hospital |
| Bored, School, Salon, Pizza Party, Beach Party | 20 each | The matching building |
That kills the most repeated piece of Adopt Me advice: School does not pay more than the other orange needs. It pays 20, the same as Bored, Salon, Pizza Party and Beach Party — go to whichever building is closest.
The cap nobody mentions: needs and jobs pay a maximum of 300 Bucks per in-game day, after which you get a "Maximum reward of 300 Bucks reached" message. An active Pet Handler Pro Certificate raises it to 500. On the x2 weekends Uplift runs every few months the caps double to 600 and 1,000 and pets age twice as fast — those weekends beat any grinding route.
Daily Reward and Star Rewards
The Daily Reward is claimable every 15 hours and pays 25 Bucks on day 1, 50 on day 2, 100 on day 3, 200 on day 4 and 300 on day 5, then the Bucks cycle restarts. Stars changed on September 11, 2026. You now earn exactly 1 Star every day you log in — no more 12-to-20-Star bonus drops on days 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30 — and Stars are a currency you spend, not a track you climb.
What Stars buy, at fixed prices: Hyperspeed Potion, Small Gift, Standard Chest and the three temporary pet auras (Confetti, Dance Party, Sparkler) at 1 Star; Small Sip Potion 2; Big Brew Potion 3; Build Limit + (500 more house parts) and a 24-hour Streak Saver at 5; two Massive Gifts or three Regal Chests at 10; the new Royal Fairytale Egg at 14; a 60-minute 2× Bucks and XP boost at 20; and the new Gemstone Egg at 28. At one Star a day, the Gemstone Egg is a 28-day login, which is exactly how Uplift advertises it on the game's Roblox page.
If you read anywhere that you should grind to 660 Stars for the Golden Egg, that page is out of date: the Golden Egg and the Diamond Egg both left the game on September 11, 2026 and are trade-only now. Anyone who had unclaimed progress got their next three Star Rewards items free on the day of the switch.
Task Board and the Guide
The Task Board (revamped November 14, 2025) gives four daily tasks: three pay 25 Bucks each plus a rotating prize (Big Gift, Massive Gift, Cracked Egg, Pet Egg, Regal Chest or Endangered Egg), the fourth pays 100. The Guide tab, added December 16, 2025, is the biggest untapped source of early Bucks — its achievements are one-time only, but "Hatch an Egg", "Buy an Egg" and "Complete a Task" pay 355 Bucks each, "Release a Pet" 130, and "Discover 10 Kinds of Pets" 80.
3. Pet Pens: passive aging and passive Bucks
If you last played before September 2025, this is the change that matters most. Pet Pens sit next to your house and age pets on their own, so it is no longer true that the only way to age a pet is to complete tasks with it equipped.
- Five slots — first four free, fifth is the "+1 Pet Pen Slot" pass at 295 Robux.
- 800 pet XP per hour in-game, 200 XP per hour offline.
- You must walk to the pen and claim the XP or it stalls; Full Grown pets stop earning, so cycle them out.
- Since February 6, 2026 pens also pay 1 Buck every 2 minutes per pet online (every 40 minutes offline), capped at 750 Bucks.
The routine that follows: park four pets of the same species in the pen to age offline while actively raising a fifth for the needs payouts. That is four Full Grown copies for a Neon without four separate grinding sessions.
4. Which eggs you can actually buy right now
Most egg guides online still list eggs pulled years ago. These are obtainable as of September 12, 2026:
| Egg | Price | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Starter Egg | Free | First join only; hatches a Cat or a Dog |
| Cracked Egg | 350 Bucks | 4 tasks to hatch; 45% common, 33% uncommon, 14.5% rare, 6% ultra-rare, 1.5% legendary |
| Pet Egg | 600 Bucks | From Holly in the Nursery |
| Endangered Egg | 750 Bucks | The current Gumball Machine egg — limited-time, it will retire |
| Royal Egg | 1,450 Bucks | From Sir Woofington |
| Retired Egg | 600 Bucks | VIP room only |
| Basic Egg | 400 Releaser Tickets | 5 tasks; 59.75% common down to 0.26% legendary |
| Crystal Egg | 4,000 Releaser Tickets | 5 tasks; 50% rare, 44% ultra-rare, 6% legendary |
| Royal Fairytale Egg | 14 Stars | Star Rewards, from September 11, 2026; 50% rare, 40% ultra-rare, 10% legendary |
| Gemstone Egg | 28 Stars | Star Rewards; 90% ultra-rare, 10% legendary, with a 0.05% Amethyst Penguin |
| Golden Egg / Diamond Egg | — | Left the game September 11, 2026 — trade-only |
Every earlier Gumball Machine egg — Safari, Jungle, Farm, Aussie, Fossil, Ocean, Mythic, Woodland, Japan, Southeast Asia, Danger, Urban, Desert, Garden, Moon, Aztec — is trade-only now. If a site tells you to buy a Safari Egg for the Giraffe, it has not been updated since 2019.
Releaser Tickets are the underrated currency
The Pet Releaser, across from the VIP room in the Nursery, converts unwanted pets into Tickets. Releasing is permanent, and the payouts scale hard:
| Rarity | Normal | Neon | Mega Neon |
|---|---|---|---|
| Common | 100 | 2,000 | 10,000 |
| Uncommon | 125 | 2,500 | 12,500 |
| Rare | 150 | 3,000 | 15,000 |
| Ultra-Rare | 300 | 6,000 | 30,000 |
| Legendary | 900 | 18,000 | 90,000 |
Rideable adds 150 Tickets, flyable 300. A Crystal Egg costs 4,000, so releasing commons at 100 each is a slog — one Neon common is worth 2,000, half a Crystal Egg on its own.
5. Aging, Neon and Mega Neon
Pets move through six stages, each teaching one trick. Most guides online have this table shifted by one row:
| # | Stage | Trick unlocked |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Newborn | Sit |
| 2 | Junior | Lay Down |
| 3 | Pre-Teen | Bounce |
| 4 | Teen | Roll Over |
| 5 | Post-Teen | Backflip |
| 6 | Full Grown | Dance |
Tasks per stage scale with rarity — a common needs only 3 to go Newborn to Junior. An Age-Up Potion is worth a flat 30 tasks and works on anything that is not an egg or already Full Grown. Once a pet is Full Grown it gains Friendship Levels, one per 30 tasks, each handing you another Age-Up Potion — so your first Full Grown pet becomes a potion factory. Friendship Levels reset when a pet is traded and never come back.
Neon and Mega Neon
Take four Full Grown pets of the same species to the Neon Cave — under the main bridge between Adoption Island and the Neighborhood, where the NPC Nixie explains it — and place them on the four circles. Neons then age through their own stage names: Reborn, Twinkle, Sparkle, Flare, Sunshine, Luminous. Four Luminous Neons fuse into a Mega Neon, so a Mega Neon is 16 pets — but only one of the 16 needs fly or ride for the result to inherit it, a real Robux saving. The Pet Rock, Scoob, Pumpkin, Burtaur and MFR Sandwich cannot be made Neon at all.
For which species are worth fusing, see our Adopt Me best pets ranking and the Adopt Me tier list, or the walkthrough for how to get the Frost Dragon.
6. Trading in 2026 and the new Trading Hub
You cannot trade ultra-rare or legendary items without the Trade License. Take the test at the Safety Hub behind Green Groceries, door at the foot of the stairs near Agent Jake: three trade scenarios, green button for safe, red for scam. Three right answers and it is yours, retakes unlimited. It also unlocks 30 days of trade history and scammer reporting.
A trade holds up to 18 items per side, and a 5-second countdown resets every time either player changes something. Since January 14, 2026 you can also request to view the other player's backpack mid-trade and suggest items.
The Trading Hub (July 31, 2026)
Uplift added a cross-server trading board. The Trading Phone unlocks free in the Guide once you have played two hours, hold the Trade License and own a Neon pet; it summons a hot air balloon to the Hub, where two NPCs run the board:
- Robo Todd posts listings — you pick what you offer and what you want. Each costs 100 Bucks and you may hold two at once; a third slot costs 49 Robux.
- Robo Rob searches others' listings and shows similar offers when there is no exact match.
- Any pet you list or offer is locked in your inventory until you pull it, so nothing on the board is fake.
- The phone works in normal servers, but listings can only be created or modified inside the Hub.
Uplift is explicit that the guardrails are "not intended to create a genuine value system" — they only block spam offers, so do not read what the board accepts as a valuation. Uplift also says the Hub exists to reduce server-hopping for traders, which makes the old "rejoin until you find a good server" advice largely obsolete.
The one scam rule that never changes: use the in-game trade window and nothing else. Never hand over an item first on a promise, and never split a deal across two trades.
7. What Robux actually buys
Adopt Me has 23 game passes attached to it, but only five are on sale. The other 18 — Modern Mansion, Hotdog Stand, Lemonade Stand, Mermaid Mansion, Celebrity Mansion, Pet Griffin, Supercar Pack and more — are delisted and cannot be bought at any price. Prices from the Roblox game-pass API, re-checked September 12, 2026:
| Game Pass | Price | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| +1 Pet Pen Slot | 295 R$ | Fifth Pet Pen slot — 25% more passive aging |
| Premium Plots | 379 R$ | Move your home to any glowing plot near the Nursery |
| VIP | 640 R$ | VIP Room, exclusive Limo, exclusive house, Golden Bone, chat tag, 100 Bucks |
| Cozy Home Lure | 1,020 R$ | Bait-driven furniture that yields Bucks, pets and items over time |
| Millionaire Pack | 1,060 R$ | Millionaire Mansion and a Luxury Car |
Buying one? +1 Pet Pen Slot at 295 Robux is the only pass that measurably speeds up progression; the rest are houses, vehicles and rooms. VIP at 640 is second, because the VIP room is the only place to buy the Retired Egg (600 Bucks), which holds the original Cat, Dog and the other pets pulled from the Cracked Egg in July 2022. The Cozy Home Lure is not purely decorative either — bait it and it yields Bucks, pets and items, and the Ice Soup Bait is free and unlimited.
Pets Plus is a 299 Robux monthly subscription (added August 1, 2024) bundling all VIP benefits with a sticker pack, a Golden Lettuce, a streak saver and a Pet Handler Pro Certificate — the item that lifts your daily Bucks cap from 300 to 500. That is the one recurring purchase with a measurable effect on earnings.
8. What is live right now
The live update is the Star Rewards Revamp, out September 11, 2026 (the in-game event window opened at 15:05 UTC). It is the biggest change to Adopt Me's login economy since Star Rewards launched in March 2020:
- Stars became a currency. One Star per login day, spent on a fixed price list, instead of a 660-Star ladder. The Golden Egg and Diamond Egg left the game the same day.
- Two new eggs — the Gemstone Egg (28 Stars; 90% ultra-rare, 10% legendary) and the Royal Fairytale Egg (14 Stars; 50% rare, 40% ultra-rare, 10% legendary).
- A new legendary pet, the Amethyst Penguin, at a 0.05% hatch chance from the Gemstone Egg — the rarest pull in the game right now.
- Utility items you can now just buy: a 24-hour Streak Saver and a +500 house build limit at 5 Stars each, and a 60-minute 2× Bucks and XP boost at 20.
The previous update, Backpack Storage & Releaser Refresh (August 21, 2026), is still in: Backpack Storage with multi-select, up to 25 named Storage Tabs openable mid-trade, and the two legendary pets Kiwi Kiwi 🥝 and Strawberry Tortle 🍓, both exclusive to the Basic and Crystal Eggs.
Running alongside it is the "Stray Case" storyline from August 14: talk to Tux Kitt outside the School for a Mysterious Key that opens the locked School cafeteria door. It vanishes when you use it or leave. Full patch history is on our Adopt Me update log.
Codes
Adopt Me does still have a code system — the Code Redemption Kiosk is in the Safety Hub next to Agent Ruhi. Codes are rare and short-lived rather than retired; we track current status on our Adopt Me codes page.
9. Earning free Robux for Adopt Me
The useful passes — +1 Pet Pen Slot at 295 Robux, VIP at 640 — are cheap enough to be a realistic target. Earnaldo lets you earn Robux by completing simple offers and tasks, then spend them on any of them.
Two things not to spend on: Instant Hatch is a repeatable per-egg cost leaving nothing permanent, and a Cracked Egg hatches in four needs anyway. And never buy a fly or ride potion for a pet you plan to fuse — only one of a Mega Neon's sixteen pets needs it.

10. Frequently Asked Questions
How many Bucks can you earn per day in Adopt Me?
Needs and jobs are capped at 300 Bucks per in-game day. An active Pet Handler Pro Certificate raises that to 500, and the x2 weekends Uplift runs every few months double both caps to 600 and 1,000 while doubling aging speed. Daily Rewards, Task Board prizes and Guide achievements sit outside the cap.
How do I make a Neon pet in Adopt Me?
Raise four pets of the same species to Full Grown, then place all four on the circles in the Neon Cave, under the main bridge between Adoption Island and the Neighborhood. Four Luminous Neons fuse into a Mega Neon, so a Mega Neon is 16 pets — and only one of the sixteen needs fly or ride for the finished pet to keep it.
Which Adopt Me game passes can you still buy in 2026?
Five, as of September 12, 2026: +1 Pet Pen Slot at 295 Robux, Premium Plots at 379, VIP at 640, Cozy Home Lure at 1,020 and Millionaire Pack at 1,060. The other 18 passes, including the Modern Mansion and Hotdog Stand, are delisted. There is also a Pets Plus subscription at 299 Robux a month.
If you take one thing from this guide, make it the Pet Pen: four pets aging offline while you work needs on a fifth is the biggest change to Adopt Me since 2019. For other games, see Grow a Garden, Blox Fruits or Adopt Me vs Welcome to Bloxburg.
