With over 500 million visits and 150+ units across five rarity tiers, knowing which characters are actually worth your Gems in Anime Paradox takes real playtime to figure out. This tier list covers every relevant unit as of May 2026, after Update 3.5 dropped with the JOJO Part 7 roster.

Rankings are based on damage numbers from actual Infinite mode runs, Raid Act 3 clears, and story mode progression — not wiki stats alone. You'll find damage output figures, how to obtain each unit, and which team compositions make sense at each stage of the game. Tiers go S through C, with S being the current meta and C being units that work early but fall off hard.

S Tier — Best Units in Anime Paradox

These five units define the current meta. They're either mandatory in competitive team builds or so far ahead of alternatives that you'd be leaving damage or sustain on the table by ignoring them. All are Mythical or higher rarity.

1. Zid (Atomic) — DPS

Zid (Atomic) is the top damage dealer in the game right now, outputting around 18.5M damage with full-map AoE blasts that can wipe entire waves in a single activation. His base stats sit at ATK 1,500 and HP 5,000, which is unusually tanky for a DPS unit. Most pure damage dealers have paper-thin HP; Zid doesn't, which means he survives the wave gaps that would kill a frailer carry. Available through Mythic/Secret Banner summons.

His AoE coverage is what truly separates him from A tier competition. Where other DPS units hit lanes or clusters, Zid's full-map reach means zero dead zones. He's the best answer to high-density Infinite mode floors and Raid boss add phases.

2. Storrk (Resurreccion) — DPS

Storrk (Resurreccion) hits approximately 15.8M damage and carries the highest HP pool of any DPS in the game at 6,000. His ATK base of 1,400 trails Zid slightly, but the wolf summon mechanic that doubles after EVO makes him a legitimate solo-carry in longer content. You can drop Storrk on a lane and mostly forget about it while managing the rest of your board. Banner summon.

The reason Storrk and Zid both sit at S tier rather than one above the other is mode dependency. Zid clears faster in wave-based content; Storrk sustains better in Infinite mode where the wolf summons compound over time. Both are worth pulling.

3. Idol (Pop) — Support

Idol (Pop) is the best general-purpose support in Anime Paradox. She's Mythical rarity, obtained via Banner, and her heal output directly counters the chip damage accumulation that kills teams on Infinite mode floors 50 and beyond. Without a healer at that stage, even tankier DPS units slowly drain down between waves. Idol prevents that. She's genuinely mandatory in late-game builds, not just a comfort pick.

4. Oreheme (Sacred) — Support

Oreheme (Sacred) doubles as an offensive support and healer, which is rare. Most supports pick one lane. Her synergy with all DPS archetypes means you don't have to build around her specifically — drop her into any team and she improves it. Mythical rarity, Banner summon. Pairs especially well with Zid and Ichuga for Raid boss compositions.

5. Bulla — Farm

Bulla is the best Gem and resource farming unit in the game. She doesn't put out damage numbers like Zid or Storrk, but that's not the point. Every 100 Gems you pull costs real time, and Bulla accelerates that loop faster than any alternative. She's a Mythical Banner unit and she's mandatory in every serious team composition. If you only pull one S tier unit before anything else, make it Bulla.

A Tier — Excellent Units

A tier units are strong enough to carry you through all content and slot into competitive builds. They're one step below S tier due to narrower use cases, stat ceilings, or being outclassed in specific modes by their S tier counterparts.

1. Sun Jin Wu (Monarch) — DPS

Sun Jin Wu (Monarch) outputs around 14.5M damage and is the best unit specifically for Infinite and Endless mode. His on-kill scaling means he gets stronger with every enemy cleared, and the execute mechanic below a health threshold removes high-HP targets that would otherwise stall waves. Pairs with Igrus for a 100%+ damage multiplier that pushes this duo into near-S tier territory in the right context. Earned through Raid Act 3 — no banner needed.

2. Igrus (Elite Knight) — DPS / Hybrid

Igrus (Elite Knight) deals roughly 13.8M damage via a strong bleed mechanic combined with meaningful self-healing, which keeps him alive without a dedicated support slot. His damage multiplier synergy with Sun Jin Wu is the reason both units are worth acquiring together. Purchase from the Siege Shop rather than hoping for a banner pull — it's a reliable path to one of the best A tier units in the game.

3. Ichuga (Vasto Lorde) — DPS

Ichuga (Vasto Lorde) lands around 13.2M damage with massive bleed DPS and built-in sustain that makes him reliable across story progression and Infinite mode. He's the preferred swap into Raid boss teams over Sun Jin Wu when you need raw burst over scaling. Unlocked through Legend Stages rather than Gem pulls, which makes him more accessible for players who haven't built a strong banner unit pool yet.

4. Sakuno (Curse King) — DPS

Sakuno (Curse King) has the highest raw ATK stat in the game at 1,550, paired with a strong cursing passive that reduces enemy resistances. HP sits at 5,500. He's Mythical rarity via Banner. The cursing passive is what gives him A tier placement — without it, raw ATK alone wouldn't justify the slot over Zid or Storrk.

5. Brojo (Six Eyes) — Offensive Support

Brojo (Six Eyes) is the best offensive support in the game. His "Infinity" ability directly amplifies team DPS across the board, which means his value scales with how good your other units are. In an S tier team, Brojo becomes disproportionately powerful. Mythical rarity, Banner summon. He doesn't heal, so pair him with Idol or Oreheme when running longer modes.

B Tier — Good Units

B tier units are solid, dependable, and will carry you through mid-game content without issue. They're outpaced in the late game and won't make the cut in optimized Infinite or Raid builds, but they're far from wasted Gems.

1. Brolu (Super) — DPS

Brolu (Super) is a reliable all-rounder Mythical DPS at roughly 10.5M damage. He's consistent across content types, doesn't have weird mechanic requirements like Sky's self-damage, and works well while you're building toward S and A tier units. Banner summon.

2. Kirrua (Godspeed) — DPS

Kirrua (Godspeed) hits around 9.8M damage with strong burst windows when Godspeed activates. The burst ceiling is above what the damage average suggests, which makes him useful in situations where you need a big hit on a specific target. Banner summon. He's a better early-game carry than his damage average implies.

3. Sky (Enhanced) — DPS

Sky (Enhanced) outputs around 9.2M damage but comes with a self-damage mechanic that bleeds his own HP during ability use. You need a dedicated healer in the same build to keep him alive, which costs you a support slot. He's strong in isolation, but the slot tax drops him to B tier unless you're running Idol or Oreheme already. Banner summon.

4. Freezo (Full Power) — DPS

Freezo (Full Power) deals roughly 8.9M damage and brings AoE freeze crowd control that no other B tier unit matches. Freeze halts incoming waves while your other units cycle cooldowns, which is genuinely useful in dense Infinite mode floors. The damage ceiling doesn't compete with A tier, but the utility does. Banner summon.

C Tier — Average Units

C tier units aren't broken — they work during the early story chapters. They just don't scale into the late game, and you'll replace them the moment you pull or unlock anything from B tier or above.

1. Eryu (Antithesis) — DPS

Eryu (Antithesis) puts out solid damage in early to mid story content but gets hard-outscaled by Mythical units as soon as you reach the back half of the story track. His kit doesn't have a scaling mechanism or unique utility to justify a slot at that point. Fine for new players, replaceable quickly.

2. Seth (One-Winged) — DPS

Seth (One-Winged) has decent burst that works in the opening story modes. He won't survive into Raid or Infinite mode lineups at any competitive level. Use him to clear early chapters while farming for better units.

3. Megomun (Explosion) — DPS

Megomun (Explosion) is effectively a first-few-chapters unit. His scaling is low and his ability doesn't adapt to higher-HP enemies in later content. There's no late-game scenario where you'd run Megomun over anything in B tier or higher.

How We Ranked These Units

Rankings aren't based on raw wiki stats alone. Damage output numbers come from Infinite mode testing with consistent trait loadouts — CDR traits on DPS, HP/Heal traits on supports. A unit with a 1,550 ATK stat that never cycles its ability fast enough won't outperform a 1,400 ATK unit with better cooldowns in practice.

We weight four factors: raw damage output, mode versatility (how useful across Story, Infinite, and Raid), acquisition path (units locked behind Raid or Siege Shop get credit for being reachable without Gems), and team synergy. A unit that amplifies the entire roster, like Brojo, scores higher than its individual stats suggest.

The Trait System with its 21 traits across 7 rarities from Common to Eternal adds meaningful variance to raw unit performance. The tier positions assume CDR traits for DPS and HP/Heal traits for supports. A unit running the wrong trait setup will underperform its tier. The Stat Reroll system letting you push grades from ATK S to SS also matters at the highest Infinite floors, but base rankings assume realistic trait grades rather than max-rolled outliers.

The biggest meta shift as of Update 3.5 is Storrk and Zid pulling clearly ahead of Death Reaper (Souls), who was competitive before this patch. Update 3.5 also added four JOJO Part 7 units — Johnny, Valentine, Gyro, and Diego — which appear to slot into the A to S range, but consensus isn't settled yet.
