This tier list ranks the kits that matter from S to C, with the meta assessed as of July 18, 2026 during the in-game "JACK + BALANCE" patch. S Tier — Best Kits

These kits warp the meta around them. They carry solos, duos and squads, and each brings something no other kit matches.

Jade

Jade's giant hammer knocks enemies straight up into the air, ending combos, breaking up rushes and buying time on defense — a huge tempo swing in a game decided by 1v1s and bed pushes. She's also usually a free battle-pass unlock, which makes her the most accessible S-tier kit and our overall best pick for July 2026.

Ember

Ember is the premier rush kit. Charging an attack unleashes a spinning slash that hits everything around you for roughly 24 damage and sets enemies on fire, and you can buy an Infernal Saber (3 Emeralds) that deals 42 damage per swing. The fire pressure melts opponents in the early game before they can armor up — ideal for breaking beds fast.

Void Regent

Void Regent's exclusive Void Axe dashes you forward while slashing and heals you for a portion of the damage you deal. That built-in lifesteal gives it the best sustain of any duelist, letting it out-trade almost anything in a straight fight. It's a premium bundle unlock rather than a free kit, but it's still firmly S tier.

Aery

Aery summons spirit butterflies that amplify her sword damage, turning ordinary trades into fights she wins outright. It's a battle-pass reward with a high skill payoff — pure duel power for players who like to press the attack rather than rely on utility.

S-tier BedWars kits dominate solos, duos and squads.

A Tier — Strong Picks

A-tier kits are reliable and win games; they just don't bend the match around them the way S tier does.

Evelynn

Evelynn is the flanking assassin. Dealing 26 damage makes an enemy drop a spirit orb; pressing F teleports her to that orb, slashing nearby foes for 15 damage with 100% armor penetration and granting 15 shield HP plus a 40% speed boost for three seconds. In skilled hands she picks off defenders and slips out — but she demands good timing and map sense, which keeps her out of S.

Warrior

Warrior unlocks cheaper, stronger Warrior-exclusive armor, so you out-tank and out-trade in even fights for less resource investment. It's a low-level battle-pass unlock, making it one of the best value picks for newer players who want a straightforward frontline and bed-defense kit.

Baker

Baker is the best support in the game. Health Apples heal you and nearby teammates, and speed cakes push the whole squad's movement, making rotations faster and rushes harder to stop. It's not flashy, but a squad with a Baker simply out-sustains one without — borderline mandatory in coordinated team play.

B Tier — Situational

B-tier kits have real strengths but clear gaps. They shine in the right matchup or team comp and underperform outside it.

Archer

Archer gets +15% projectile damage and a tactical crossbow, letting you chip defenders and harass bridge-builders from safety. The ceiling is high, but it's entirely aim-dependent — miss your shots and you're effectively playing without a kit.

Pyro

Pyro's flamethrower makes enemies brittle so they take extra damage, and the fire zones excel at area denial around your bed. Good movement lets skilled opponents sidestep the flames, which caps its ceiling, but it's oppressive on defense and against clustered rushes.

Melody

Melody's guitar heals nearby teammates — genuinely useful support, but softer than Baker's on-demand apples and speed. She's a fine low-effort pick for casual grouped-up squads, yet Baker outclasses her whenever the game gets competitive. Spirit Catcher (Catherine)

Catherine summons spirits that chase down and explode on enemies, giving her strong zoning and chip pressure. The payoff is streaky — some rounds the spirits swing a fight, others they whiff — so her inconsistency keeps her in B tier.

B-tier kits reward specific matchups and playstyles.

C Tier — Economy / Niche

These kits lean on resources or utility instead of combat. They can be fun, but they lose the fights that decide matches.

Lumberjack

Lumberjack chops trees for a wood economy through tiered backpacks and woodcutters, feeding faster upgrades. The economic edge is real, but the kit is weak in a straight fight, so coordinated teams simply out-duel it.

Farmer Cletus

Farmer Cletus grows crops that yield diamonds and emeralds for a steady resource lead. With no combat ability, though, that extra economy rarely converts — games are won by bed breaks and fights, not stockpiles.

Builder

Builder fortifies blocks with a hammer to make them tougher, which has niche defensive value against rushes. Outside of stalling a push, it does nothing to help you win fights or break beds, so it sits at the bottom.

How We Ranked These Kits

Kit abilities and numbers above are taken from the community-maintained BedWars Wiki and current kit guides, then weighed against how each kit actually performs in the July 2026 rush-heavy meta. Three factors decide placement:

Fight impact: BedWars is won in duels and at beds, so kits that win trades or disrupt them (Jade, Ember, Void Regent, Aery) rank highest. Pure economy kits rank lowest because resources rarely convert to wins on their own.

Versatility: A kit that only works in squads is penalized. Void Regent's self-heal, for example, lifts it in solos where you have no support, while Baker leans the other way — excellent in squads, weaker solo.

Skill and access: Aim- and timing-heavy kits (Archer, Evelynn) drop a notch because most players won't hit their ceiling, while free, easy-value kits (Jade, Warrior) get credit for delivering immediately.
