Dandy's World Update [Waxwell] – Patch Notes & What's Next
Dandy's World got its newest Toon. The Waxwell update went live on August 7, 2026 and adds a new playable character, Waxwell, his Twisted Waxwell counterpart, and a new trinket to chase. In this ALPHA horror roguelike, fresh Toons are the core content each patch, and Waxwell brings a flame-trail ability that supports the whole run. Here's exactly what changed and what's coming next.

What's new in the Waxwell update
The headline addition is Waxwell, a candle Toon whose head is a dripping stack of wax topped by a lit wick. His kit is built around fire. Activating his ability ignites his flame, which removes his Tired II debuff for 10 seconds and, while lit, leaves a flame trail behind him as he moves. Any Toon who touches that trail gains the Ignited buff, which makes their ability cooldowns recover twice as fast for 5 seconds. The buff does not affect any Waxwell and cannot stack, and the ability runs on a 60-second cooldown. That makes him a support pick: he can keep a teammate's escape or utility ability online far more often during a tense floor.
Every new Toon in Dandy's World ships alongside a Twisted version, and Waxwell is no exception. Twisted Waxwell joins the enemy Twisted roster you'll run into during floors, and completing its Research is how you earn the update's new reward.
That reward is a new trinket, the Cherished Blanket. Per the Dandy's World Wiki it is granted at 100% Research on Twisted Waxwell, and it increases the duration of Trails created by your abilities by 4 seconds, with no effect on Toons that lack a Trail ability. It pairs naturally with Waxwell's own flame trail, extending the window in which allies can pick up the Ignited buff.
We could not confirm Waxwell's exact stat spread (Skill Check, Stealth, Speed, Extraction, Stamina, and Health), his precise Ichor unlock cost, or the patch's Alpha version number from a reliable source at the time of writing, so we're holding those back rather than guessing — we'll add them once the wiki or official notes lock them in.
What this means for players
Waxwell changes team composition more than raw survival stats. Because the Ignited buff doubles cooldown recovery for anyone standing in his trail, he rewards teams that coordinate: park the trail near a teammate with a strong active ability — a stun, a heal, or a distraction — and they can use it roughly twice as often across a floor. The self-cleanse of Tired II also lets Waxwell keep sprinting when other Toons would be slowed, which is useful for the player running extraction machines under pressure.
The value scales with how your group plays. Dandy's World is a co-op survival loop where a team of Toons works machines and completes floors while dodging Twisteds, so a support Toon who keeps everyone's abilities charged is strongest in a coordinated squad and weaker in a solo or uncommunicative lobby. Position matters too: the trail only helps allies who actually step through it, which rewards funneling teammates along a shared path near objectives rather than scattering across the map.
If you want the trinket, the path is grinding Twisted Waxwell encounters to 100% Research, then slotting the Cherished Blanket on any trail-based Toon for a longer-lasting trail. For the current standing of every Toon and how Waxwell fits the meta, our Dandy's World guide and the Dandy's World hub stay updated as players test him.
New codes with this update
Dandy's World does have a code system — codes here typically grant Ichor, the currency used to unlock Toons and cosmetics — but we have not verified any update-specific codes tied to the Waxwell patch. Rather than list codes copied from stale trackers, we keep a single verified list on our Dandy's World codes page and refresh it as new ones appear. Check there for what actually redeems today, and treat any "Waxwell code" you see elsewhere as unconfirmed until it's on that page.

Update history
- August 7, 2026 — Waxwell update: Added the new Toon Waxwell, a candle character whose ability ignites his flame, clears Tired II for 10 seconds, and lays a flame trail that grants allies the Ignited buff (cooldowns recover twice as fast for 5 seconds) on a 60-second cooldown. Added Twisted Waxwell to the enemy roster and the Cherished Blanket trinket at 100% Twisted Waxwell Research, which extends ability-created Trails by 4 seconds.
- July 28, 2026 — Tisha update: The prior patch, focused on bug fixes with no new codes.
When the next Toon drops, it takes over the "What's new" section above and the Waxwell update rolls down here for the record.
What's next for Dandy's World?
The developer BlushCrunch Studio has not published a dated roadmap for the next major patch as of August 8, 2026, so anything about specific future Toons or mechanics beyond Waxwell is speculation, and we won't list it until there's a source. The reliable pattern is cadence: Dandy's World has steadily rotated in new Toons paired with Twisted versions and a trinket, exactly as the Waxwell update did, so expect the next build to follow the same shape.
We'll refresh this log the moment the next change log drops. You can watch the game on its official Roblox page — it sits at roughly 124,112 concurrent players and about 7.26 billion visits as of August 8, 2026 — and keep our Dandy's World hub and codes page open for live status.
