Five Nights TD 2 by Hyper TD mixes Five Nights at Freddy's horror with full-blown tower defense, and with 50 million+ visits and 5,000-15,000 concurrent players, it's one of the most popular TD games on Roblox right now. This guide covers every working code for free Gems, the strongest animatronic units to summon, upgrade priorities, map-by-map strategies, and how to clear even the hardest waves without spending a single Robux.
These codes give you free Gems, the premium currency used to summon new animatronic units. We test every code daily — grab them before they expire. For a full breakdown of every code ever released, check our dedicated Five Nights TD 2 codes page.

Redeeming codes takes about 10 seconds. Here's exactly how to do it.
Not every animatronic is worth your Gems. Here's a breakdown of the strongest units in the current meta, ranked by damage output, utility, and cost efficiency.
Nightmare Freddy is the king of AOE damage right now. At Level 5, his Nightmare Slam ability hits every enemy within a 6-tile radius for 4,500 damage per second. He costs 800 coins to deploy but that price pays for itself within two waves. If you only have Gems for one premium summon, get Nightmare Freddy.
Golden Freddy sits at the top for single-target DPS. His golden beam deals 8,200 damage per hit at max upgrade, making him the go-to boss killer on every map. He's also the rarest unit in the game with a 0.5% summon rate, so you'll need patience or a lot of Gems.
Springtrap rounds out S-tier with his poison mechanic. His attacks apply a stacking poison that deals 2% of the enemy's max HP per second for 8 seconds. Against bosses with 500,000+ HP, that's 10,000 damage per tick — absolutely brutal.
Puppet doesn't deal much damage on her own, but her 25% damage buff aura makes every unit around her significantly stronger. Place her at the center of your formation and she'll multiply your entire team's output.
Nightmare Bonnie has the fastest attack speed in the game at 0.3 seconds between hits. His individual damage per hit is only 850, but that translates to 2,833 DPS before upgrades. At Level 5, he pushes past 5,000 DPS with his rapid-fire ability active.
Foxy is a speed demon with a unique dash mechanic. He charges forward along the enemy path, dealing 3,200 damage to every enemy he passes through. This makes him incredible for wave clear, especially on straight-line maps.
Toy Bonnie is the best early-game unit you can get. He costs only 150 coins to deploy and deals a respectable 1,200 DPS at Level 3. Most players use him as filler while saving currency for stronger deployments.
Mangle has an interesting ceiling-hang ability that lets her attack from a position where she can't be targeted by certain enemy abilities. She deals 1,800 DPS at max level and her range is above average at 5 tiles.
Toy Chica specializes in crowd control. Her slow debuff reduces enemy movement speed by 30% for 4 seconds, which gives your DPS units dramatically more time to deal damage. She's a must-bring on maps with short paths.
Chica and Balloon Boy are your Day 1 units. They get the job done for early waves but fall off hard after Wave 10. Chica deals 600 DPS at max level, which won't cut it against mid-game enemies with 50,000+ HP. Use them to stall while you build up currency, then transition to stronger picks.
Upgrades are the single biggest factor in whether you clear a map or fail at Wave 20. Here's the exact order to upgrade for maximum efficiency.
Every animatronic has 5 upgrade levels. The costs scale up: Level 2 costs 200 coins, Level 3 costs 500, Level 4 costs 1,200, and Level 5 costs 2,500. That's 4,400 total coins per unit to max out. Since a typical Hard-mode run generates around 8,000-10,000 coins total, you can only realistically max 2 units per game.
Priority 1: Main DPS. Get Nightmare Freddy or Golden Freddy to Level 5 first. This is your primary win condition. A Level 5 Nightmare Freddy can solo Waves 1 through 15 on most Normal-difficulty maps.
Priority 2: Support. Get Puppet to Level 3. Her damage buff aura scales with upgrade level — Level 3 gives a 25% buff, up from 15% at Level 1. The jump from Level 3 to Level 5 only adds another 10%, so Level 3 is the sweet spot for cost efficiency.
Priority 3: Crowd Control. Upgrade Toy Chica to Level 3 for the enhanced slow effect (30% slow for 4 seconds, up from 20% for 2 seconds at Level 1). This dramatically increases the time enemies spend in your kill zone.
Priority 4: Secondary DPS. Upgrade Springtrap or Nightmare Bonnie to Level 4-5 with any remaining coins. Their boss-killing potential at high levels can mean the difference between a clutch clear and a frustrating loss on Wave 25.
Five Nights TD 2 has 6 playable maps as of June 2026. Each one requires a different approach based on path length, enemy types, and available placement spots.
This is your tutorial map with a long, winding path and plenty of placement spots. Almost any team can clear Normal difficulty here. Place your main DPS at the central intersection where the path crosses over itself — this lets one unit hit enemies twice as they loop around. Normal mode gives 40-60 Gems per clear.
Backstage has a shorter path with tight corridors. The narrow layout means AOE units like Nightmare Freddy shine here since enemies are forced to clump together. Place Toy Chica at the first turn to slow enemies early, then stack your damage dealers at the second turn where enemies will pile up.
This map introduces branching paths for the first time. Enemies can take two different routes to your Pizzeria base. You'll need to split your units between both paths or focus on the merge point where the paths converge. Foxy's dash ability works incredibly well here because he can cover both paths.
The best Gem farming map in the game. Hard difficulty awards 120-150 Gems per clear and takes 8-10 minutes with a solid team. The enemies here hit harder and move faster, so Toy Chica's slow is essentially mandatory. Boss waves at Wave 15 and Wave 25 spawn Nightmare-variant enemies with 500,000+ HP. You need Springtrap's poison and Golden Freddy's burst damage to take them down efficiently.
The current endgame map. Shadow animatronics are the toughest enemies in FNTD 2, with the final boss having over 2 million HP. You'll need a fully upgraded team with at least 2 S-tier units to have a shot at clearing this map. The reward is worth it though — a full Hard-mode clear drops 250-300 Gems and has a chance to award the exclusive Shadow Freddy unit.
This horror-themed map has reduced visibility with a fog mechanic that limits your view of the path. Units with long range like Nightmare Bonnie are essential here because they can attack enemies you can't see yet. The fog lifts every 5 waves, giving you a brief window to reposition. Hard mode awards 80-100 Gems per clear.
Your deployment slots cap at 6 units once you hit max level. Here's the optimal team composition for both early and endgame content.
Run Toy Bonnie, Chica, Balloon Boy, and Foxy. These are all common units you'll get from your first few summons. Place Toy Bonnie and Chica early for wave clear, then deploy Foxy once you have 300 coins. Save Balloon Boy as emergency backup if enemies leak through your frontline. This team can clear Pizzeria Classic and Backstage on Normal with no issues.
Swap to Nightmare Freddy, Puppet, Toy Chica, Foxy, and Nightmare Bonnie. This is where your team starts to feel powerful. Nightmare Freddy handles AOE, Puppet buffs him, Toy Chica slows enemies into the kill zone, and Foxy plus Nightmare Bonnie handle anything that slips through. You should be farming Pizzeria Nightmare on Normal with this team.
The meta loadout is Nightmare Freddy, Golden Freddy, Springtrap, Puppet, Toy Chica, and Nightmare Bonnie. This team has everything: AOE clear, single-target burst, poison DPS, support buffs, crowd control, and rapid-fire backup. With full Level 5 upgrades, this squad can clear Shadows on Hard difficulty.
Gems are everything in Five Nights TD 2. You need them to summon new animatronics, and the best units have drop rates below 1%. Here's how to farm Gems as fast as possible without spending Robux.
Daily login rewards give you 50-200 Gems depending on the day. Day 7 always drops the biggest reward. Never miss a login — it's free currency for zero effort.
Pizzeria Nightmare farming is the most efficient Gem source. A Hard-mode clear takes 8-10 minutes and awards 120-150 Gems. That's roughly 750-1,125 Gems per hour of focused farming. If you can't clear Hard yet, Normal mode gives 40-60 Gems per run.
Co-op bonus adds 15% to your Gem rewards at the end of every match. Playing with friends is always better than solo if you're farming. With a full 4-player squad on Pizzeria Nightmare Hard, you're looking at 138-172 Gems per run.
Code redemption is the fastest single source of Gems. The current codes listed above total over 6,500 Gems for free. That's enough for 65 summon pulls, which is a huge head start.
Achievement milestones award Gems for hitting gameplay targets like clearing maps, reaching player levels, and upgrading units. Check the Achievements tab regularly — some players miss hundreds of Gems sitting in unclaimed rewards.
Five Nights TD 2 has several Game Passes, but not all of them are worth your Robux. Here's a breakdown of every pass and whether it's actually worth the money.
2x Gems (399 Robux) is the single best pass you can buy. It doubles all Gem rewards from gameplay, daily logins, and map clears. If you play regularly, this pass pays for itself within a few days. Pizzeria Nightmare Hard goes from 120-150 to 240-300 Gems per run, which cuts your farming time in half.
VIP Pass (799 Robux) gives you a VIP badge, exclusive VIP chat, early access to new maps, and a 10% bonus to all currency earned. It's a nice quality-of-life purchase but not as impactful as 2x Gems for pure progression.
Extra Deploy Slot (499 Robux) increases your unit cap from 6 to 7. This is a meaningful combat upgrade because it lets you bring an additional DPS or support unit. However, most maps are clearable with 6 units, so it's more of a luxury.
Auto-Collect (199 Robux) automatically picks up dropped coins and items during gameplay. It's convenient but not necessary — you can manually collect everything if you pay attention to the screen.
If you're looking for ways to earn Robux without spending real money, Earnaldo lets you complete simple tasks and surveys to earn free Robux that you can use toward Game Passes like these.
Co-op is the best way to play Five Nights TD 2, and not just because of the 15% Gem bonus. Having 2-4 players means you can cover more of the map and bring a wider variety of units.
Coordinate your roles. In a 4-player squad, assign one player as the DPS carry (Nightmare Freddy + Golden Freddy), one as support (Puppet + Toy Chica), one as anti-boss (Springtrap + Foxy), and one as flex. This prevents overlap and ensures every base is covered.
Don't stack units in the same spot. Spread your placements across multiple chokepoints rather than clumping everyone at one intersection. Co-op enemy health scales by 50% per extra player, so enemies will be tankier and you need sustained damage along the entire path, not just one burst zone.
Call out boss waves. Use the in-game chat or Discord voice chat to coordinate ability usage during boss waves. Two Golden Freddy ultimates fired at the same time can waste 50% of their potential damage on overkill. Stagger your abilities for maximum effect.
Share currency drops. In co-op, coins dropped by enemies can be collected by any player. If your DPS carry is close to a key upgrade, let them collect the coins first. A Level 5 Nightmare Freddy benefits the entire team more than spreading coins evenly.
If you're trying to find reliable teammates, the Five Nights TD 2 community Discord is active with players organizing runs daily. You can also use Roblox's built-in server browser to join populated lobbies.
If you enjoy Five Nights TD 2, you might also want to check out other tower defense games on Roblox. Anime Defenders offers a deeper summoning system with pity mechanics, while Toilet Tower Defense takes a more comedic approach to the genre. Both games have active code lists and loyal player communities. The core gameplay loop of summoning units, upgrading them, and defending a base translates across all three titles, so skills you build in FNTD 2 carry over.
Earn Robux by completing quick tasks on Earnaldo and spend them on Game Passes like 2x Gems to supercharge your farming.
The strongest units are Nightmare Freddy (best AOE damage at 4,500 DPS), Golden Freddy (best single-target at 8,200 damage per hit), and Springtrap (best boss killer with 2% max HP poison). For A-tier, Puppet, Nightmare Bonnie, and Foxy are all excellent. Budget players should focus on Toy Bonnie and Mangle until they can summon higher-tier units.
Tap the Settings icon (gear) in the top-right corner, find the Codes text box, type or paste your code exactly as shown, and press Redeem. Codes are case-sensitive. Rewards are added to your account instantly. Make sure you're in the main lobby, not mid-match.
Yes, FNTD 2 is completely free. All animatronics can be obtained through Gem farming and the summoning system without spending Robux. Game Passes like 2x Gems (399 Robux) and VIP (799 Robux) speed up progress but aren't required to beat any content in the game.
Pizzeria Nightmare on Hard difficulty is the best option, awarding 120-150 Gems per 8-10 minute run. That's roughly 750-1,125 Gems per hour. If you can't clear Hard yet, Pizzeria Classic on Normal gives 40-60 Gems per run. Always play co-op for the 15% bonus Gems.
Each unit has 5 upgrade levels costing 200, 500, 1,200, and 2,500 coins respectively (4,400 total). Each level increases damage by 40-60%, with new abilities unlocking at Levels 3 and 5. Always max your primary DPS first before spreading upgrades across multiple units.
Max player level is 50. You unlock new maps every 5 levels: Backstage at 5, Parts & Service at 10, Fazbear's Fright at 15, Pizzeria Nightmare at 25, and Shadows at 40. Hitting Level 50 gives you a Golden Freddy skin and 500 bonus Gems. Your deploy slots also increase from 4 to 6 as you level up.
Yes, co-op supports up to 4 players. Invite friends from the lobby or join public matches. Enemy health scales by 50% per additional player, so coordination is key. Co-op also gives a 15% bonus to Gem rewards, making it the most efficient farming method in the game.
