Jujutsu Shenanigans is one of Roblox's most popular JJK-inspired fighting games, and picking the right character matters more than ever in April 2026. With 19 fighters on the roster, five attack types, and an awakening system that flips matchups on their head, knowing which characters dominate the meta saves you hours of trial and error. We tested every character across dozens of matches to put together this tier list.
Before we break down each tier, a quick note: player skill always matters more than tier placement. A mastered B-tier character can absolutely beat a casually played S-tier pick. These rankings reflect each character's potential when both players are at a similar skill level, factoring in damage output, combo versatility, awakening strength, and matchup spread.
These are the characters that consistently perform at the highest level. They have strong base kits, devastating awakenings, and enough versatility to handle most matchups without struggling.
Honored One is the safest S-tier pick in the game, and it's not particularly close. His entire kit revolves around two core moves: Lapse Blue, which pulls opponents toward you, and Reversal Red, which blasts them away. That two-directional crowd control gives you an answer to almost every situation.
What makes Honored One truly oppressive is his Infinity passive, which auto-blocks weaker hits without any input. In his awakened Six Eyes form, Lapse Blue Max jumps to 44 unblockable damage, and Hollow Purple hits for 70. Landing both Max moves in sequence triggers Unlimited Purple, scaling from 50 to 100 damage based on distance. His domain expansion, Infinite Void, has a 120-second cooldown and lasts 14 seconds.
Vessel is a damage powerhouse that plays as two characters in one. In base form, you're Yuji — a melee-aggressive brawler with 85 HP and a passive called Tiger of West Junior High that negates incoming basic attack damage and stuns the attacker. The base kit features low-cooldown combos that chain together smoothly.
Where Vessel truly shines is in the awakened Sukuna form. Cleave deals 40% of a target's current HP (minimum 10 damage), meaning it hits harder the earlier you land it. Divergent Fist chains up to four Black Flash hits, with the fourth dealing 15 damage. The domain expansion, Malevolent Shrine, runs for 18 seconds on a 120-second cooldown, dealing 2 damage per slash (0.5 if blocked). Mastered Vessel players are among the most oppressive fighters in the game.
Cursed Partners is based on Yuta Okkotsu and brings the Copy cursed technique to the battlefield. The base kit includes Cursed Speech, which stuns all players within a 35-stud radius for 3 seconds — that's one of the best crowd-control tools in the entire roster.
The awakened form is where Cursed Partners becomes terrifying. The domain expansion, Authentic Mutual Love, lasts a whopping 45 seconds and grants access to five copied techniques: Shrine, Thin Ice Breaker, Clairvoyance, Cursed Speech, and Shikigami. You equip katanas inside the domain to activate them, though you can only use four before the domain ends. True Love Beam deals 117 damage, making it one of the highest single-hit damage values in the game.
Restless Gambler has the most unique awakening system on the roster. Activating Idle Death Gamble opens a domain where you cast two visual moves to trigger one of two scenarios. If the gamble succeeds, you hit the Jackpot: full invincibility for 100 seconds. That's not a typo — 100 seconds of being completely unkillable. If you fail three times, you receive a Pity Jackpot on the fourth attempt, granting 50 seconds of invincibility instead.
The RNG element can be frustrating, but even the worst-case Pity Jackpot gives you nearly a minute of invincibility. Once you're in Jackpot state, you can play aggressively with zero risk.
A-tier characters are not far behind the S-tier. They have strong kits, good damage, and can absolutely win tournaments in the right hands. The gap between A and S is about matchup flexibility rather than raw power.
Ten Shadows sits at the top of A tier with a case for S tier among dedicated mains. His entire kit revolves around shadow summons, each with their own abilities: Rabbit Escape deals 14 damage, Nue hits for 16 damage with an electric variant, Toad pulls opponents toward you, and Divine Dog: Totality deals 6 damage per hit with multi-hit potential.
The reason Ten Shadows isn't in S tier is the steep learning curve. You're managing multiple shikigami simultaneously, each with separate cooldowns and positioning requirements. Mastered Ten Shadows players are genuinely terrifying, but getting there takes serious practice time compared to Honored One or Vessel.
Blood Manipulator brings some of the best neutral control in the game. The special ability conjures 4 blood orbs that strengthen your other attacks and change how Supernova behaves. Supernova is an oppressive tool that forces opponents to choose between focusing on you or the orb. It operates on a low cooldown with seemingly no end lag, and it can extend your combos.
In the awakened form, Plasma Wave deals a minimum of 116 damage at close range — one of the highest single-hit values among the base roster. If you like controlling space and punishing opponents who rush in, Blood Manipulator is an excellent choice.
Star Rage is based on Yuki Tsukumo and uses the Star Rage technique to add virtual mass to herself or her shikigami Garuda. This translates to attacks that hit significantly harder than they look. The scaling on her mass-enhanced moves catches opponents off guard, and Garuda provides additional pressure that's hard to deal with in neutral.
Star Rage rounds out the S/A-tier border. She's consistently strong and doesn't have any glaring weaknesses, but she lacks the explosive ceiling of characters like Vessel or Cursed Partners.
Perfection starts with 100 HP — the highest base health pool on the roster. The kit focuses on dealing direct, hard-to-dodge damage. Perfection can change hand shapes into hammers, swords, or whips, and even summon small minions. The character is essentially a melee bruiser with very few downsides and one of the most beginner-friendly kits in the game.
The real threat is the instakill ability. It's hard to land consistently, but the threat of it forces opponents to play cautiously. Combined with 100 HP of raw durability, Perfection can outlast characters that deal more damage on paper.
B-tier characters are viable and can win matches at every skill level. They tend to have one or two areas where they fall behind S and A-tier picks — maybe less damage, slower combos, or a weaker awakening. But none of them are bad choices.
Defense Attorney brings a unique courtroom mechanic to the fight. His kit revolves around putting opponents on trial and stripping their abilities if they're found guilty. This makes Defense Attorney one of the best counter-picks in the game against ability-reliant characters. The damage output is moderate, but the ability denial factor can completely shut down S-tier characters who depend on specific moves.
Salaryman is straightforward and effective. Based on Kento Nanami, this character focuses on clean, honest damage with the Ratio Technique that targets weak points. There's no flashy gimmick here — just solid fundamentals. Salaryman rewards players who understand spacing and timing over those looking for one-button combos.
Head of the Hei has 90 HP in base form, dropping to 75 on awakening — a rare downside. His domain expansion, Time Cell Moon Parade, has a 60-second cooldown (the shortest in the game) and lasts 25 seconds. The low cooldown means you can use it multiple times per match, which partly compensates for the HP trade-off. Head of the Hei is a high-risk, high-reward character that thrives on aggressive play.
Switcher is based on Aoi Todo and revolves around Boogie Woogie — swapping positions with anything that has cursed energy by clapping. This repositioning tool creates opportunities that other characters simply don't have. The mind games alone make Switcher a threat, though the actual damage output is middling compared to higher-tier picks.
C-tier characters aren't bad, but they require more effort to achieve results that S or A-tier characters get more easily. They tend to shine in specific situations or against specific matchups rather than being universally strong.
Puppet Master controls the fight from a distance using puppet-based attacks. The spacing game is unique, but the payoff doesn't match the effort required. Against rush-down characters, Puppet Master struggles to maintain the distance needed to function. Still, in the right hands and the right matchup, the character can absolutely hold its own.
Disaster Plants brings nature-based cursed techniques that provide area denial and sustained damage. The kit is creative and thematically cool, but the damage numbers don't keep pace with the A and B-tier fighters. Disaster Plants works best in modes where area control matters more than raw 1v1 burst.

Every character in Jujutsu Shenanigans has an awakening that transforms their moveset mid-fight. Here's how the system works:
As you deal damage, the blue awakening bar at the bottom of your screen fills up. Once it hits 100%, press G to trigger your awakened form. Awakening restores a portion of your HP and unlocks an entirely new set of abilities — typically stronger versions of your base moves, plus your domain expansion.
Timing your awakening is critical. Pop it too early and you waste the HP restore. Save it too long and you might die before using it. As a general rule, we recommend awakening when you're at roughly 30-40% HP. This maximizes the heal value while ensuring you don't get caught off-guard by a burst combo.
Every ability in the game belongs to one of five attack types: Melee, Bullet, Explosion, Swarm, or Domain. The game has 10 counter moves, and each counter only works against specific attack types. Learning which counters beat which types is just as important as learning your own combos.
We ranked characters based on four weighted factors, tested across multiple sessions as of April 2026:
Damage output (30%) — We recorded damage values for every move in both base and awakened forms, including domain expansion damage.
Combo versatility (25%) — Characters that chain abilities smoothly with low cooldowns scored higher. We counted true combos and rated execution difficulty.
Awakening strength (25%) — Some awakenings are marginal upgrades; others are game-changing. Restless Gambler's invincibility and Cursed Partners' copied techniques represent the top end.
Matchup spread (20%) — We evaluated how each character performs against the rest of the roster. Fewer hard counters means a higher ranking.
Player skill will always be the deciding factor in any individual match. These rankings represent our best assessment of each character's potential at equal skill levels, not a guarantee of outcomes. For more on the game, check out our Jujutsu Shenanigans hub page.

As of April 2026, Honored One (Gojo) and Vessel (Sukuna) are the two strongest characters. Honored One is the safest S-tier pick thanks to Infinity passive, Hollow Purple's 70 damage, and a forgiving learning curve. Vessel rewards aggressive players with Malevolent Shrine and Cleave dealing 40% of a target's current HP.
No. Out of the 19 characters on the roster, 16 are completely free. Only 3 are locked behind the Early Access gamepass (300 Robux), and those characters are unfinished. Every S-tier and A-tier character is free to play.
Deal damage to fill the blue awakening bar at the bottom of your screen. Once it's full, press G to trigger your awakened form. Awakening restores HP and unlocks a stronger moveset with new abilities.
M1 for melee combo, 1-2-3-4 for skills, Q for dash, F for block, R for special ability, and G to awaken. Every ability belongs to one of five attack types: Melee, Bullet, Explosion, Swarm, or Domain.
Absolutely. Jujutsu Shenanigans is a skill-based fighting game. If you master your character's combos, timings, and matchup knowledge, you can beat higher-tier picks consistently. Tier lists reflect potential at equal skill levels, not guaranteed outcomes.
As of April 2026, there are 19 playable characters. The roster includes 13 regular characters plus several Early Access and special characters. New fighters are added regularly through updates.
