Slap Battles just shipped its scariest content in a while. The August 7, 2026 update adds two new gloves — Static and Marewarder — both earned through the new Pim boss fight, plus new emotes and hit effects. Since gloves are the whole point of Slap Battles, two of them at once is a real content drop. Here's exactly how to get each one.

What's new: Static & Marewarder

The August 7 update, announced on the official Slap Battles account, centers on the new Pim boss fight and the two gloves it hands out, plus a batch of new emotes and hit effects. Both gloves are new additions dated August 7, 2026.

Static is the harder grab. You obtain it by beating Pim on Hard Mode: click the grey mask in Pim's dimension to switch the encounter into Hard Mode, then clear the fight as usual. Hard Mode is a real step up — Pim turns distorted and grey instead of his normal saturated yellow, his attacks get bigger, faster and more frequent, and a static effect blocks your glove ability for the duration. You can still regenerate health, unlike some earlier hard-mode bosses. Clearing it awards the Banish the Night badge, which unlocks the glove. Per community trackers, Static carries Power 50 and Speed 14, uses a Distortion ability bound to E, and has a standout look: multiple eyes appear across the glove and blink while you hold it.

Marewarder is a badge glove that requires the "Unmasked" badge. You earn it by working through the Pim quest area — interacting with the mask, then collecting the Ruby, Silver, Rune, Fiery and Seer keys across the boss fight's challenge rooms to progress and finish the encounter. The glove itself looks like a lantern with light-blue glass, an animated blue candle flame burning inside, and a purple handle that is not made of glass. It is a distinct reward from Static, so a full clear of the new content can net both.

What this means for players

This is a content update in the way Slap Battles fans actually care about: new gloves, not a reskin. Static is the trophy for skilled players — Hard Mode disabling your glove ability forces you to survive Pim's faster attack patterns on movement and timing alone, so it rewards knowing the fight rather than out-gearing it. Marewarder is the collector's pull, a puzzle-and-keys route that leans on patience and reading Pim's mechanics.
