What’s the current Murder Mystery 2 update?

There is no live event right now. The Summer Event 2026 ended on August 23, 2026 and nothing has replaced it. The official Murder Mystery 2 Wiki moved its event article into the past tense at 20:11 UTC that day — edit summary, “Changed to past tense since the event ended” — and a second editor flipped the Pier map’s infobox to Inactive at 22:47 UTC. The wiki dates the start to July 23, 2026 (21:00 UTC).

Nikilis’ Roblox event listing (event 2246431876220846708) is still up and still carries his own summary of the drop — summer lobby, summer map, mystery box, Godly item pack — but its start and end times now sit behind an authenticated API that refuses public reads, so the window cannot be re-read from the listing itself.

One piece of the event did not lock on schedule. Re-read on August 28, 2026, the game-pass API still flags BUNDLE: Beach (pass 1927110322, created 20:21 UTC on July 23, 2026) for sale at 3,399 Robux — five days after the event closed. Paginated on pageToken the endpoint returns 72 MM2 passes, only three of them on sale: Beach at 3,399, Elite at 499 and Radio at 475 Robux.

No new build has shipped either. Roblox still lists the place as last republished at 22:10 UTC on August 14, 2026, unmoved when we re-read it on August 28 — and because that field is a rolling counter that drifts without a patch, two weeks of silence on it is the stronger signal, not the weaker one. MM2’s level badges all date to December 2014, so nothing there dates a patch either. The event also shipped without a code: our codes page re-verified 0 active and 17 expired on August 28, and the patch record lives in the update log.

What’s next for Murder Mystery 2?

Nothing is dated. Announcing the summer update on X on July 23, 2026, Nikilis added, verbatim, “we still have an even bigger update planned” — no name, no date, no features. The wiki calls the follow-up “potentially Season 2”, but flags that as inference from the short window, not a developer statement, and still had no Season 2 article on August 26, 2026.

What the close produced was bugs, not a countdown: the wiki’s August 24 edit records newer servers dropping players back into the summer lobby, and the normal lobby showing a broken timer reading “Time until update: NOW!”. A stuck clock is not an announcement. Re-checked August 28, 2026: Roblox’s virtual-events feed for universe 66654135 is empty — nothing is scheduled.
