What Outcome Memories is and the match loop

Every survivor kit and how to play it
There are 7 documented playable survivors, each a distinct kit rather than a reskin. Picking the one that matches how you like to survive is your biggest early-game decision:

For a first match, start with Sonic or Knuckles: Sonic escapes on raw speed, and Knuckles forgives new-player mistakes by surviving a hit that would end another character. Save Amy for long matches (her Rage only pays off late), and leave Metal Sonic and Eggman until you know the maps.
The Executioner 2011X and how to counter it
One player each match becomes the Executioner, and as of August 8, 2026 the live one is 2011X — a demonic Sonic variant whose win condition is to eliminate every survivor before anyone escapes. More are planned, but 2011X is who you'll face today, so learning its three tools is the fastest way to stop dying.
- Sonic Boom shockwave. A ranged burst — don't cluster with teammates in open space, since one shockwave can catch several survivors at once. Spread out and keep cover between you and the Executioner.
- Dark Vision. A detection tool that finds survivors who think they're hidden. This is why "stand still and hope" fails — keep moving and play angles instead of freezing in one spot.
- Rage Mode. A power spike that makes 2011X far deadlier for its duration. When it triggers, stop juking and create maximum distance — break line of sight and wait it out.
The counter to all three is one principle: the Executioner wins the chase, so don't give it a fair one. Loop around obstacles to break Dark Vision, space out so the Sonic Boom catches one of you, and treat Rage Mode as a timer to survive. You never "beat" 2011X — you outlast it until the escape window opens.
Escape timing and the green ring
Winning as a survivor comes down to one number: 1:20 — the point where the escape window opens and a giant green ring spawns at a random map location. Until then there is genuinely nowhere to escape to, so the early game is entirely evasion; running for an exit that doesn't exist yet just wastes stamina and draws the Executioner.
Because the ring spawns randomly, the survivors who win are the ones who stayed mobile and central as the clock wound down, rather than pinned in a dead-end corner. When the ring appears, sprint through it to escape and win. A few timing habits make this reliable:
- Don't over-commit early. With no ring on the map, your only goal before 1:20 is not dying — kite, break line of sight, and conserve.
- Position centrally as the timer nears 1:20. A random spawn is far less punishing if you're already near the middle of the map than trapped on its edge.
- Race the moment it spawns. The Executioner knows where the ring is too, so expect it to camp — time your approach to arrive with 2011X facing the wrong way.
- One survivor escaping still counts. Reaching the ring wins the round, so a fast Sonic can secure the win even if the team is thinned out.
Farming Rings and what to spend them on
The game's only currency is Rings, and you earn them purely by playing matches — there's no code to redeem for a stack of them and no shortcut; Rings accumulate from participating in and surviving rounds. You spend them to unlock executioners, cosmetics, and emotes, which is the main progression loop beyond winning matches.
For a new player the priority is simple: focus on surviving and escaping, because completing matches is how Rings come in — a round you survive deep into the escape window is worth far more than one where you die early. Save early Rings for unlocks that change how you play, and treat cosmetics as later rewards. There's no pay-to-win shortcut, so the fastest way to farm Rings is to get better at not dying.
