Guide
What Makes Re:Rangers X Different
Most Roblox anime TD games follow the same template: place units on a map, watch them auto-attack, and upgrade between waves. Re:Rangers X breaks that pattern in several meaningful ways.
The game uses a side-scrolling format instead of the standard top-down map layout. Enemies approach from the right side of the screen, and your units stand in formation on the left. Positioning still matters, but the visual perspective changes how you think about team placement. Tanks hold the front line while ranged DPS and supports sit further back.
LD Productions built layered progression systems that go well beyond the standard level-up mechanic. Units have Traits (randomized stat modifiers you can reroll), an Evolution system (fusing duplicate copies to unlock stronger forms), and Limit Break (pushing past the normal level cap using rare materials). Update 3.0 added Soul Tier on top of all that, creating yet another endgame grind layer that uses Soul Fragments.
The result is a game where getting a strong unit from a summon is just the starting point. Turning that unit into a powerhouse takes planning, resource management, and targeted farming across multiple game modes.
Game Modes and Content
Re:Rangers X ships with more mode variety than most of its competitors. Story Mode serves as the primary progression path, pushing you through increasingly difficult stages with Gems and Yin as rewards. The time-to-reward ratio matters here: farming the highest stage you can clear in under three minutes gives you the best returns.
Dungeons provide the main source of Evolution materials and Limit Break items. Each Dungeon has specific drop tables, so you'll want to plan your farming routes based on which units you're building. Boss Rush throws scaled-up enemies at your team in rapid succession and tests how well your composition handles sustained damage output.
Update 3.0 introduced Bounty Hunt, a new mode where you track down and defeat specific targets for Soul Fragments and other exclusive rewards. Bounties rotate on a timer, so checking in regularly gives you access to the full reward pool over time. The Leaderboards system also arrived with 3.0, adding a competitive layer for players who want to measure their progress against others.
Team Building Fundamentals
The core team building formula in Re:Rangers X is straightforward: run 3-4 support units, 1-2 DPS units, and 1 tank. Support buffs scale multiplicatively in this game, which means stacking multiple supports produces far more total damage than adding another DPS unit would.
Radio Girl stands as the strongest support in the current meta. Shadow Monarch (the evolved form of King of Shadows) handles the primary DPS role, with Strongest Man as an alternative for players who haven't completed that Evolution yet. Perfect Soldier fills the tank slot and holds the front line against late-stage enemies.
Trait rerolling plays a huge role in pushing your team's power ceiling. A DPS unit with optimal Traits can output two to three times more damage than the same unit with bad rolls. Spend your Trait Reroll items on your main DPS first, then your primary support, before spreading resources to the rest of the roster.
Update 3.0 -- The Bounty Hunt
Released on April 1, 2026, Update 3.0 brought the largest content drop since the February rebrand. The headline features include the Soul Tier progression system, Bounty Hunt mode, and competitive Leaderboards.
Soul Tier sits at the top of the progression stack. After you've maxed a unit through Evolution and Limit Break, you can spend Soul Fragments to push further with Soul Tier upgrades. This system gives endgame players a reason to keep farming and a meaningful power increase for their best units.
The update also added new units, rebalanced several existing ones, and introduced the Easter event with seasonal codes. Nine codes went active with 3.0, offering free Gems, Yin, Gold, Trait Rerolls, Cursed Scrolls, and Soul Fragments. See our full codes article for the complete list and redemption instructions.
Getting Started
New players should pick Leaf Ninja as their starter unit. It has the best scaling into mid-game content and works well alongside support-heavy compositions. After picking your starter, redeem every active code immediately. The free resources from codes give a significant early boost that cuts hours off the initial grind.
Focus your spending on three core units rather than spreading resources across your entire roster. Yin and upgrade materials drop at a slow rate in the early game, so concentrating investment produces better results faster. Once your main team clears content efficiently, you can start branching out.
