Elemental Dungeons Tier List (2026) — Best Elements Ranked

Published May 2, 2026 · By Earnaldo Team · 8 min read

With over 20 elements to choose from in Elemental Dungeons, picking the right one can feel overwhelming. This tier list ranks every element based on real testing after Update 9 (April 2026), factoring in damage output, AoE coverage, boss killing potential, mob clearing speed, and overall versatility. Whether you're grinding dungeons solo or running with a squad, these rankings will help you invest your time wisely.

We've spent hundreds of hours testing each element at high mastery levels across every dungeon. The meta has shifted significantly since Update 9 dropped, and some elements that were once dominant have fallen off while others have risen. Let's break it all down.

Pro Tip: We recommend reaching Mastery 100 with your first element before branching to a second one. Splitting focus too early will slow your progression through mid-game dungeons considerably.

S Tier — Best Elements in Elemental Dungeons

These are the elements that dominate every piece of content in the game right now. If you manage to pull one of these from summons, consider yourself extremely lucky — Mythic elements have just a 0.25% summon chance.

Phantom (Mythic) — The Undisputed King

Phantom sits at the absolute top of this tier list and it's not particularly close. This element scores a perfect 10/10 on damage output with insane AoE that clears entire rooms in seconds. What separates Phantom from every other element is the combination of high spammability and the Step ability, which gives you unmatched mobility during fights.

You can reposition instantly to avoid boss mechanics while maintaining constant damage pressure. In mob-heavy dungeons, Phantom's AoE hits so wide that you're essentially clearing waves before they fully spawn. The skill ceiling here is low — even average players will output top-tier numbers with Phantom equipped.

Getting Phantom requires pulling from summons at that brutal 0.25% rate. Some players report better luck with the Sus Vampire, though it comes with a 3-hour cooldown between attempts. Either way, if you land Phantom, you've won the lottery.

Reaper (Mythic) — The Summon Army

Reaper takes a completely different approach to dominance. This element lets you summon up to 4 skeletons that fight alongside you, dealing independent damage to everything in range. Equip the Reaper Ring and that number jumps to 6 skeletons, creating a small army that shreds through bosses.

Beyond the summons, Reaper packs Death Quake and Spirit Burst for devastating AoE damage. When things get serious, you can activate the Grim Reaper Transformation for a massive power spike that turns already-strong damage into something absurd. Reaper also has M1 attacks, giving you consistent sustained damage between ability cooldowns.

The combination of summon damage, personal AoE, transformation burst, and M1 attacks makes Reaper incredibly versatile. It handles bosses, mobs, and even PvP with equal effectiveness.

Kitsune (Mythic) — Multi-Target Burst Specialist

Kitsune rounds out the S tier with the highest burst damage potential against multiple targets simultaneously. The kit includes Fox Bomb, Claw Spin, Tail Whip, and Fox Shock — each ability hitting multiple enemies and chaining together for devastating combos.

Where Kitsune truly shines is its elemental advantage against Earth, Water, and Nature types. In dungeons heavy with these enemy elements, Kitsune's damage numbers become absurd. The M1 attacks add consistent filler damage between cooldowns, and the overall kit flows together smoothly for experienced players who learn the combo rotations.

Kitsune rewards mechanical skill more than Phantom or Reaper. If you're willing to practice the combos, you'll be rewarded with some of the highest damage ceilings in the game.

A Tier — Excellent Elements

A tier elements are genuinely powerful and can clear all content in the game. They fall just short of S tier due to specific weaknesses or slightly lower overall damage ceilings.

Galaxy (Mythic)

Galaxy is a solid Mythic element with strong AoE and respectable single-target damage. It handles most content well and has flashy abilities that cover wide areas. The reason it sits in A tier rather than S is that it lacks the raw damage ceiling of Phantom, the army utility of Reaper, and the burst potential of Kitsune. It's a well-rounded Mythic without a standout specialty, which in a meta dominated by specialists puts it slightly below the top 3.

Lightning (Epic)

Lightning has been nerfed repeatedly since launch and somehow remains one of the strongest elements in the game. It holds elemental advantage against 8 of the 15 base elements, making it dominant in PvP where type matchups matter enormously. The damage is fast, the animations are quick, and the hit-confirm is reliable.

For an Epic rarity element, Lightning punches well above its weight class. It won't match Mythics in raw DPS during extended boss fights, but for PvP and general dungeon clearing, it's remarkably efficient. The fact that it's more accessible than any Mythic makes it an excellent choice for players still building their collection.

Dragon (Epic)

Dragon brings style and substance together. You get the Wings cosmetic as a bonus, but the real value is in its top-tier damage profile. Dragon specializes in AoE combined with DoT (damage over time) effects that stack during extended fights. This makes it particularly effective at boss killing, where those DoT stacks accumulate into massive total damage.

Dragon's kit excels when fights last longer than 15 seconds. The initial burst is good but not exceptional — it's the sustained damage over time that pushes Dragon into A tier territory. Against dungeon bosses with large health pools, Dragon consistently outperforms elements with higher burst but lower sustained output.

B Tier — Good Elements

B tier elements are solid picks that will serve you well through most content. They have clear strengths but also notable weaknesses that prevent them from competing with the top tiers.

Angel (Epic)

Angel offers the best defensive stats of any element while still maintaining high damage output. It's the most well-rounded element in the game from a pure stats perspective — good damage, good defence, good AoE coverage. The issue is that "good at everything" often means "best at nothing," and in harder content you typically want a specialist rather than a generalist.

Angel is an excellent choice for players who prefer a safer playstyle or who are learning dungeon mechanics for the first time. The high defence lets you survive mistakes that would kill squishier elements.

Lava (Rare)

Lava punches above its Rare rarity with solid damage numbers, a summoning ability, and multi-tick attacks that rack up impressive total damage. It's one of the best elements you can get without needing Epic or Mythic luck. The multi-tick nature of its abilities means partial hits still deal meaningful damage even when enemies move.

The notable weakness is Jungle Dungeon, where Lava's effectiveness drops significantly due to enemy resistances. Plan around this if Lava is your main element, or bring a secondary for that specific dungeon.

Ice (Rare)

Ice has one of the strongest two-ability combos in the entire game. The Ice Barrage into Ice Shuriken combination deals over 10,000 damage at high mastery levels. For a Rare element, that's an extraordinary damage ceiling that competes with some Epic elements in raw burst potential.

The downside is that Ice relies heavily on landing this specific combo. If enemies dodge or interrupt the sequence, your damage drops significantly. It's a high-risk, high-reward playstyle that works brilliantly when executed correctly.

C Tier — Average Elements

These elements are usable and can clear content, but they're outclassed by the options above in virtually every scenario. If you're using one of these, you'll want to upgrade when possible.

Gravity

Gravity has interesting crowd control mechanics but lacks the raw damage to compete in the current meta. It can group enemies together for your teammates, making it situationally useful in squad play, but solo players will find the kill times frustratingly slow compared to higher-tier options.

Light

Light offers decent speed and moderate damage but doesn't excel in any particular area. It's serviceable for early-game content but falls off hard in later dungeons where DPS checks become strict.

Darkness

Darkness has some utility with its debuff abilities but the damage output simply isn't competitive in May 2026. Update 9 didn't bring the buffs this element desperately needed.

Nature

Nature benefits from having M1 attacks, which provides some sustained damage. However, the ability damage is underwhelming and the healing utility doesn't compensate enough for the DPS loss compared to B tier and above. It's a passable starter element but you should aim to replace it quickly.

How We Ranked These Elements

Our rankings aren't based on vibes or popularity. We used five specific criteria, each weighted equally, to determine placement:

DPS Ceiling — The maximum damage per second an element can achieve at Mastery 100 with optimal play. We tested each element against training dummies and recorded peak sustained DPS over 60-second windows.

AoE Coverage — How many enemies each element can hit simultaneously and how large its damage zones are. In a game where most dungeons throw waves of mobs at you, AoE coverage directly translates to clear speed.

Boss Viability — Performance against single high-HP targets with mechanics. Some elements that dominate in mob scenarios fall apart against bosses, and vice versa. We tested against every dungeon boss at appropriate gear levels.

Mob Clearing Speed — Raw efficiency at clearing standard dungeon rooms. We timed full dungeon clears with each element at equivalent mastery and gear levels, excluding boss fight time.

Accessibility — How realistic it is to actually obtain and max the element. A perfect element that takes 400 hours of grinding to acquire is less valuable to most players than a great element available after 20 hours. This is why Lightning (Epic) ranks so competitively despite being below Mythics in raw power.

All testing was performed post-Update 9 in April and May 2026. If future patches shift the balance, we'll update this tier list accordingly.

FAQ

What is the best element in Elemental Dungeons in 2026?

Phantom is currently the best element in Elemental Dungeons as of May 2026. It scores 10/10 on damage output, has massive AoE, high spammability, and includes the Step ability for mobility. It's a Mythic element with a 0.25% summon chance.

How do you get Mythic elements in Elemental Dungeons?

Mythic elements like Phantom, Reaper, Kitsune, and Galaxy are obtained through summons with a 0.25% chance. Sus Vampire may offer slightly higher drop rates but has a 3-hour cooldown between attempts. There's no guaranteed way to get a specific Mythic — it's pure RNG.

Is Lightning still good after the nerfs?

Yes, Lightning remains A tier despite repeated nerfs throughout 2025 and into 2026. It holds elemental advantage against 8 of 15 elements, making it dominant in PvP. As an Epic element, it's significantly more accessible than Mythics while still performing at a high level in all content.

What mastery level should I reach before getting a second element?

Reach Mastery 100 with your first element before branching into a second one. This ensures you've unlocked maximum damage potential and all abilities. Splitting focus before Mastery 100 will leave you underpowered for mid-game and late-game dungeon content.

Are Corrupted elements worth it?

Corrupted variants deal 2x damage compared to their normal counterparts, making them absolutely worth pursuing. A Corrupted version of any S or A tier element becomes significantly stronger. Even a Corrupted B tier element can compete with standard A tier options in raw damage output.

Which elements have M1 attacks?

Nature, Reaper, Kitsune, Mech, Phantom, and Krampus all have M1 attacks. This gives them consistent sustained damage between ability cooldowns, which is particularly valuable during extended boss fights where you need to maintain pressure while abilities recharge.
