Universal Tower Defense Z (UTDZ) dropped Update 4.25 on July 21, 2026, and it leans hard into a Blue Lock crossover. This is the smaller follow-up to the giant Update 4.0, but the headline is anything but small: a full Universal Football mode that turns your tower units into a soccer squad. What's New in Update 4.25

The centerpiece is Universal Football, a soccer-style minigame where you build a team out of the units you already own. Assignment runs off each unit's Sub Tag: DPS units slot in as Strikers, Support units play Midfielder, Utility units become Defenders, and Specialists are all-rounders who fit anywhere. It plays in both a standard version and an Infinite version, mirroring the Story and Legend split on the tower side.

The twist is that placement isn't the whole match. After a few waves, the mode flips into a Football Phase, and team Chemistry decides whether the ball moves from your Goalkeeper up to your Striker.
