Squid Game X sells ten game passes, from 75 to 2,499 Robux — and several of the things players spend Robux on have a free route. Below is every pass with the price the Roblox API returned on September 9, 2026, what each one actually does in its own words, the sinks you can skip entirely, and the Robux-earning methods that still work in 2026.

Everything in Squid Game X That Costs Robux
There are only two Robux sinks in the game: the game-pass store and the boost upgrades in the shop. Crates cannot be bought with Robux at all.
Ten passes were listed and all ten were still marked for sale on September 9, 2026. Prices come from the Roblox game-passes/v1 product-info endpoint, read one pass at a time; the descriptions are the developer’s own store text, quoted rather than paraphrased.

Buying the lot costs 8,616 Robux. That is the honest ceiling on this game, and most of it sits in three passes. The list is complete: the endpoint returned an empty next-page token, so any pass you see quoted elsewhere that is not in this table does not exist.
What Each Pass Actually Buys
The earnings passes: VIP (349) and Elite Guard (749)
VIP is the double-coins pass, and its store text is explicit: double coins on all non-guard earnings, plus a chat tag. That carve-out matters, because the game puts you on the guard side some rounds and VIP does nothing for that income. Elite Guard, at more than twice the price, is the pass that raises guard earnings. They cover different halves of the same economy rather than stacking, and there is no second coin-doubling pass to buy on top of either.
The information pass: Glass Maker (649)
“Permanently tell which glass is fake or real!” is the only pass description of the ten that changes what you know instead of adding a number or a costume. It only fires on one mode, the Glass Bridge, but that mode is a coin flip without it. The role passes: Guard (1,499), Detective (1,799), Frontman (2,499)
These three account for 5,797 of the 8,616 Robux total — 67% of everything the game sells. They buy permanent access to a role rather than a stat. What 1,499 or 2,499 Robux buys is every round in that role instead of an occasional one, which is a much narrower purchase than the price suggests.
The cheap utility passes: 75 to 399 Robux
More Quests at 75 Robux is the only item in the store under 100. Extra Speed is a flat +20% to walk and sprint. Permanent Extra Life! gives “always +1 extra life” — a second chance in an elimination game, and the most useful 399 Robux here. +2 Marbles matches VIP’s price but only applies inside the Marbles mode.
How the Price Ceiling Moved
The creation dates on the passes tell a story the store page does not. Eight of the ten were created between September 28 and November 2, 2021 — inside the first six weeks after the game went live on September 24, 2021 — and the most expensive of those eight is Elite Guard at 749 Robux.
The two newest are role passes added years later: Permanent Frontman on January 16, 2025 at 2,499 Robux, and Permanent Detective on October 25, 2025 at 1,799 — the ceiling more than tripled. Nothing was retired in the meantime; all ten were still for sale on September 9, 2026.
What You Can Get Without Spending Robux
Join the redifi group. It is free and open-entry, it had 4,413,641 members as of September 9, 2026, and the game’s own description says membership grants the FAN chat tag plus bonus daily rewards. Group members get a second daily-reward track running alongside the standard one, which is the largest free upgrade available to a new account.
Redeem the codes. The developer keeps a rotating code slot at the top of the Roblox description, tied to like milestones rather than a calendar, so the working list changes without notice. Upgrade boosts with in-game money. The community wiki records seven permanent boosts — Sprint, Damage, Guard Earnings, Glass Inspect, Tug of War Skill, Health and Jump — each upgradable five times, with either 100 Robux or in-game money accepted. Every stat increase in the game therefore has a zero-Robux path; only the passes are Robux-only.
Skip the crate shop. Crates take in-game money only, $50 common up to $500 legendary, and the wiki is blunt that what comes out is clothing and masks with no gameplay function. In some countries local law blocks buying them with coins at all, leaving daily rewards as the only source.
Badges are free progression. Squid Game X carries sixteen badges, from First Time Played through a 1000 Wins ladder plus the role and Easter-egg badges. How to Actually Get Robux Free in 2026
This is the part most Squid Game X guides get wrong, because three of the routes they still recommend are dead. Here is what the situation actually is.

What no longer works. Star Codes were removed by October 24, 2025. The old Creator Affiliate programme was replaced by Creator Rewards on July 25, 2025, and its Audience Expansion half requires an experience averaging 100+ daily active users — a gate that excludes essentially every new creator. Microsoft Rewards pulled all Roblox gift-card denominations from its catalogue around April 8, 2026 with no announced restock. And Roblox Premium closed to new signups on April 30, 2026 when Roblox Plus launched: the base Plus tier carries no Robux stipend, and the bundle tiers are named Plus 500 / 1000 / 2000. If a guide tells you to sign up for Premium for the monthly Robux, it was written before that change.
Selling your own items. Still real, but gated: publishing avatar items needs an active Plus or legacy Premium subscription, government-ID verification and 2FA, an 80 Robux upload fee per submission, and a documented 30-day escrow on commissions. A pass you sell pays you 70%; an avatar item bought inside someone else’s experience pays you 30%.

The pass people mean is VIP at 349 Robux, whose own store description reads “Gives you double coins (on all non-guard earnings) and a vip chat tag”. Because there is only one double-coins pass, there is no way to stack two of them for a 4x rate.

All ten game passes were listed via the Roblox game-passes/v1 universe endpoint for universe 2936053166 on September 9, 2026 (next-page token empty, so the list is complete), then each pass ID was queried individually for its price and for-sale status. Live figures on September 9, 2026: 15,224 players in game, 2,203,904,665 visits, 1,796,243 favourites and 1,471,744 up-votes against 98,712 down (93.7%). The player number moves a lot — our radar’s 28 samples from September 2 to 9 have a median of 15,992 and a range of 8,146 to 30,070, so read it as a median, not a peak.
Boost, crate and daily-reward mechanics come from the community wiki via the Fandom API; those pages were last substantively edited in February 2025 and restored from vandalism on April 26, 2026, so treat them as wiki-dated rather than live. The upcoming event was read from the Roblox virtual-events API. The Robux-earning platform changes were verified against Roblox’s own creator documentation.
Two corrections to this page’s own history. It named the developer “Squid Game Studio” and called the game an officially licensed Netflix title: Roblox lists the creator as the verified group redifi (12255003), a group search returns nothing named “Squid Game Studio”, and the description calls the game “inspired by the show”. And the Place ID it carried, 18885342507, resolves to a different Roblox universe entirely; the real root place is 7554888362.
